Background:

In 2007, the small island of Tuvalu in the Oceania region was invaded & eventually taken over by General Paul Grundy & his Kingstopian Army.

The invasion was swift & was completed within a week. The United Nations do not agree with the violent takeover of the former nation of Tuvalu but have not declared sanctions & therefor the new nation is not affiliated with the UN & the Kingstopian FA would not be a member of FIFA. The OFC (Oceania Football Confediration) accepted the new nation as an associate member.

A year after the formation of Kingstopia, the nation set up it's Football Association (KFA) with a view to start competative football on the island & internationaly for the 2009-2010 season.

Sounds interesting, good luck. Are you managing a team or the national team or just watching how it develops?

There are not enough teams in division.

---------- Post added at 07:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:43 PM ----------

I know it is a small island, but 10 teams, come on.

I like it small & intimate lol... I think it will be interesting & original having just a 6 team league & a 4 team league.

My idea was to manage the national side & do this story as a seasonal overview of all competitions & international matches but it seems asif my lovely new nation is unmanageable so I'll have to stick myself as an unemployed manager.

I've tested my data edit by holidaying up to 2043 with interesting results... one of the B League teams gained promotion in it's first season & won about 15 A League titles in a row. Most of the clubs became semi pro (all sides start as amateur).

The story is going to start soon I promise! I just wanted to finish off the graphics pack... which should be this evening, with the story itself potentially starting tonight at some point!

Introduction to the teams of Kingstopia

FC Kingstopian Royal

fcroyal.png

FC Royal are the Kingstopian rulers team of choice. They play at the national stadium in the capital & the team colours are blue with a central white hoop. They were tipped to be the first dominant force in Kingstopian football but The Royals did not have a good 2009-10 season & ended in 4th place, which did not please the General.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

East Kingstopia

eastkingstopia.png

As with most regimes that take control with force the people revolt. A form of this revolt is in the people's team of Kingstopia: East Kingstopia. Despite drawing their support from the eastern side of the capital (mostly populated by the remaining people of the former nation Tuvalu) they share the national stadium in the city centre with FC Royal, so the Kingstopian rulers can keep a close eye on them. After being bottom of the league for much of the 2009-10 season, they hit form late on & escaped the A League promotion/relegation play off game.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TEAM WHING

teamwhing.png

Team Whing hale from the furthest south island in the state, formally known as Avalau - now known as Whing Lake. With the nations only stadium that complies with FIFA's regulations for football stadia in the capital most of the other venues in Kingstopia are open spaces, often with temporary seating put up for games & Team Whing's ground is no different. The Whing's ended up as runners up of the 2009-10 inaugural season.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LAKESIDE

lakeside.png

Other then the capital, Whing Lake is the only settlement in Kingstopia with more then one team. Lakeside share the same ground as Team Whing & were set up by angry locals who were adamant not to support a team with such a generic name as Team Whing. Lakeside finished last in the A League in 2009-10 & as such will face the promotion/relegation play off to retain their place in the division for the next season.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CHAPPLETOWN RANGERS

chappletownrangers.png

Chappletown is a strange place. Located on a south west island formally known as Fuagea, this island is owned by one of the General's highest ranking officials & has been granted it's own 'state' status under the dependency of Kingstopia. 2009-10 was an ok one for the Rangers as they finished 3rd place in the A League.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TRAYNOR VILLAGE KNIGHTS

traynorvillageknights.png

TVK are a northern based club on the main island of Kingstopia. They play their home games at TVK Park & were the first ever champions of Kingstopia in 2009-10. Traynor Village Knights look set to have a bright future...

(will add more team intro later)

K-TV:Pre Season transfer round up

Well it's the dawn of the eve of the big A League kick off & despite club's only being in operation for a number of months there has been some transfer activity in the A League:

East Kingstopia - The people's team snapped up three Traynor Village Knights players to start the first ever season. Those players being: Mike Humphreys (AM RLC), Stuart Whittle (AM/F C) & Dean Willis (DM, M C). It is thought that these players have joined the rebelious movement behind the East Kingstopia football club.

FC Kingstopian Royal - The team of the Republic made one buy & one sale. They signed Denis Scott (D/WB L) from Traynor Village Knights & they sold Tom Cooper (AM/F C) to Dowson United.

Lakeside - Adam O'Donnell (D LC) was Lakeside's only signing, joining the side from Chappletown Rangers.

Chappletown Rangers - The Rangers signed Ollie Jordan (D RC) from Team Whing. As well as the previously mentioned sale, Peter Cooper (D RC) joined Luckett Park.

Traynor Village Knights - With no buys & 4 sales TVK look thin for the start of the A League season.

Team Whing - The Whings are the other side to make no signings, but with only 2 sales they look a bit stronger then TVK, but we shall see over the course of the season.

K-TVXTRA: 'The People' up to no good

The 'People Liberation Army'... that is the name for the supporters group of East Kingstopia Football Club. It is also the name of the insurgent militia of the former people of Tuvalu & they have been acting very shifty in the Eastern side of the capital: a large antenna has been erected on the top of one of the tallest buildings in the City of Kingstopia. K-TV can't gain access to the scene so are unable to give you any further news.

K-TVXTRA: Statement from the Palace of Kingstopia

A representative of General Grundy spoke with the media today regarding yesterday's events in the eastern side of the city.

K-TV: So what does the great General think of this mysterious antenna?

Rep: He is angered that some citizens in his glorious nation are not willing to let the Kingstopian ruler show them what he can do for them & what he accepts to be their homeland.

K-TV: So our supreme leader is reaching out to these people & they are rejecting him?

Rep: Acts like this show their rejection of the General.

K-TV: Does our General have any intel on what this antenna could be transmitting?

Rep: The Republic knows everything.

There you have it folks, the Republic knows everything. No action seems to have been taken by the Kingstopian forces & everyone must be wondering what exactly is going on?!

Vision Tuvalu : News With Different Opinion

Welcome to Vision Tuvalu! A pirate radio station determined to give you, the people, a voice & a place for views & opinions not tainted by those at the Palace. Our first official statement is to give the real views of what happened in the first City of Kingstopia derby back in September.

The General controlls what K-TV broadcasts & as such has fabricated the whole event. The bias TV station reported that East Kingstopians were throwing things at the Pigs {FC Royal} but that was not the case. A number of fans at the front of our allocated stand were & still are complete unknowns to the small community of the eastern side of the capital & we are led to believe they were infact members of the Kingstopian Guard in East Kingstopia football shirts.

We will be back with more news from the people to the people soon!

K-TV: The Empire Strike Back

K-TV has learned that General Grundy is absolutly furious with those that have a part in the People Liberation Army & Vision Tuvalu. A representative of the Palace stated that if there was any news to report it must be personally approved by the great ruler himself & that Vision Tuvalu is in breach of his wishes. Military action will not be taken this time, but the General has made it known that as a punishment no player that plays for East Kingstopia Football Club shall ever be allowed to participate in the Republic of Kingstopia national side. This should serve as a lesson to all who deny General Grundy as their leader. The Palace official was quick to point out that this was in no part down to yesterday's derby defeat by an incredibly lucky East Kingstopia side.

Maybe the Army could form a team, made up of raw recruits, to really keep an eye on conduct at football grounds...

This is certainly an original story, though. I'll let you run it how you want!

yeah that's essentially what FC Royal is :) don't think i've worded it like that yet though so i'll slip it in at some point! I've got a few plot twists lined up for the future, especially if East Kingstpia get relegated.

this is a good idea mate, i did a similar thing with Tuvalu and also made a large league with the Vrigin Islands, i'll defo be following :)

K-TV: A New Years Message from the Palace

Earlier today a representative from the Palace turned up at K-TV headquarters to give us this message directly from General Grundy. It is the first time the General has addressed his people since coming to power in 2007.

My people of the Republic, it has been a good year for our fine nation. Despite minor unrest in the eastern part of the capital in recent times, as a whole you have all been quite adequate servants to my empire. With the help of the people I have captured 3 spies sent by the UN over the past year so that makes me very happy & in return I would like to offer East Kingstopia Football Club's players back their chance to appear in the national side, but only AFTER the scheduled American Samoa & Fiji matches. I am not letting them off the hook, next time the rebelion does something there will be prompt action taken.

Kind words from our glorious leader there, showing his compassion for the East Kingstopia players. The General had also informed his representative to tell us that he will allow Vision Tuvalu to exist as long as it distances itself from the People's Liberation Army.

K-TV: Exciting Times for Kingstopian Football

As the domestic leagues enter their final month of action, it's looking more & more like Traynor Village Knights will walk away with the A League title. For much of the season it was the Kingstopian ruler's choice team FC Kingstopian Royal that led the division but a seriously bad slump in form has left them in 4th, 6 points clear of bottem placed Lakeside. The people's team East Kingstopia look like they are going to escape the relegation play off despite being last for a lot of the season they have hit form at the right time & are currently 5th out of 6, 4 points off the bottem.

The B League has just 1 date left to play & it is the Casuals of Kingstopia that have secured the inaugural B League crown & in doing so has earned the right to face the team that finishes last in the A League for their place in the division next season.

Cup Finals:

Major Cup - East Kingstopia v Team Whing @ The People of Kingstopia Stadium

Minor Cup - Athletico (Cochrane) v Casuals of Kingstopia @ The People of Kingstopia Stadium

With just one fixture left to play in the A League, Traynor VIllage Knights look set to be the first name engraved on the A League trophy, being 3 points clear of Chappletown Rangers.

K-TV: Our great General congratulates TVK personally

Kingstopia's best (& as usual, only) TV station was on the scene today as the glorious leader presented Traynor Village Knights with the A League trophy personally. Unlike most nations where the trophy is presented on the final day of the season infront of the fans, the General has made it known that he will present all trophies to clubs away from the general public of Kingstopia. He met with TVK chairman Nick Knowles & first team manager Tony Stephens to present them the A League trophy; nicknamed the Big Fish as the shape resembles that of a fish.

He then addressed the playing staff of TVK:

Congratulations on becomming the first ever champions of Kingstopia. You have set the standard for the league & the rest will need to live up to it next season. I wish your club & it's followers the best for the future.

It is not yet known if TVK will be ellegible to compete in the continental O-League competition, or if the General will alow it.

The remaining action for the 2009-2010 season is as follows:

Sat 06/03/10 - Lakeside v Casuals of Kingstopia (A League Promotion/Relegation game)
Sat 13/03/10 - East Kingstopia v Team Whing (Major Cup Final)
Sun 14/03/10 - Athletico (Cochrane) v Casuals of Kingstopia (Minor Cup Final)
Wed 24/03/10 - Open Cup Round 1
Sat 27/03/10 - Open Cup Quarter Final
Sat 03/04/10 - Open Cup Semi Final
Sat 17/04/10 - Open Cup Final

Vision Tuvalu : The Palace is corrupt

Well, we knew that anyway right? Firstly we here at VT need to appologise for not being around since the first broadcast, but that's because we've had our signal jammed. It's been down since, you guessed it, the message our glorious tyrant sent out on new years day! Another point we'd like to make is about yesterdays announcements by the national media... our team were not offered new home shirts by the General. I've heard from someone high up at East Kingstopia FC & he said that no one was contacted about it & untill yesterday, had no idea about any kit deals.

But, my brothers, it's time to forget about the bad times... our team have reached the Major Cup final & on Saturday 13th March, we shall turn the Pig's arena we are 'held hostage' in into our own.

VIVA EAST KINGSOPTIA! VIVA TUVALU!

K-TV: Lakeside down, Casuals up after close encounter

200910-playoff.PNG

A blistering first quarter of an hour did the job for the Casuals of Kingstopia. Adam Goulding broke the deadlock for Casuals on 13 minutes & just 1 minute later the advantage was doubled by former Luckett Park midfielder Gavin Smith. Danny Smith of Lakeside pulled a goal back shortly before half time but Stuart Lee's 2nd red card of the season was enough to end the challenge. Stuart Lee is incidently moving to the General's FC Royal on 29th June.

Casuals of Kingstopia will play A League football next season & will be the 3rd team from the capital city in the division. This must put them in an optimistic mood ahead of the Minor Cup final!

Lakeside will be in next seasons B League, where they will hope to rebuild & be back in the A League for 2011-2012.

K-TV: Major Cup final pleases General Grundy

200910-majorf.PNG

The People lose out in the first Major Cup final. Due to their anti-establishment broadcasts earlier in the month, the General (who was in attendance himself) banned all East Kingstopian fans. The attendance was a dismal 37: the General, 5 guards & 31 Team Whing fans. That's not to say Team Whing didn't deserve their win especially after going a man down. General Grundy was no longer in The People of Kingstopia Stadium when it came to hand out the Major Cup trophy to the Whings; instead he stood on a balcony accessed from the stadium's VIP box looking over where the East Kingstopian's were protesting. K-TV can report that our leader stated that he has had enough of the rebellion & has reconsidered his dicision to let the East Kingstopian players back into the national squad. As he returned back inside he was heard to mumble: "one more from them & that **** radio antenna is going down. Boom." He then began to chuckle to himself.

Tomorow is the Minor cup final & General Grundy will not be there as he has called an emergancy military meeting.

K-TV: Minor upset in cup final

200910-minorf.PNG

Athletico (Cochrane) upset Casuals of Kingstopia's perfect season today infront of 209 people at The People of Kingstopia Stadium. Nathan Cook scored the goals only game just before half time & Athletico are the first Minor Cup champions. Casuals, however, won't be to upset as they will be playing top flight football next season!

See you all for the Open Cup!

K-TV: The People fund their own kit

After shocking lies broadcast by a pirate radio station about the KFA not offering East Kingstopia FC a new set of home shirts, it appears asif they have funded their own kits for the 2010 Open Cup & next season.
