The first season has finished!

Everyone in the great Republic of Kingstopia, from the noble General himself to the misguided members of the Peoples Liberation Army must agree that football on the islands have been a complete success. Traynor Village Knights & Team Whing look set to have a bright future in the A League, despite K-TV writing both teams off at the start of the season. Look out for Casuals of Kingstopia too, just because they were B Leaguers doesn't meen they will be pushovers, as the Open Cup winners will no doubt have a good first season in the A League.

A League Player of the Season

Although not an actuall award as such the General recognises the outstanding individual of the nations flagship competition.

Player of the Season: Sam Culshaw (GK), Traynor Village Knights

Goalkeeper Sam Culshaw finished with a 7.22 average performance after 13 apps & 7 clean sheets as TVK lifted the A League crown. He wasn't in the first Kingstopian senior international squad but must surely feature in General Grundy's next squad.

The Nation is Ready

In 14 days time the Republic of Kingstopia are playing only their 2nd ever international football match. The great General Grundy's squad will no doubt differ completely from that of the nations first international game. Uncapped player of the season Sam Culshaw (TVK) will certainly be first choice in goal & as we all know, our leader has banned all East Kingstopian players from appearing in the national side.

Kingstopia face American Samoa on Saturday 5th June 2010 at The People of Kingstopia Stadium.

Match Report:

First Half:
Action started early on 8 minutes John Towler (T.W.) put a free kick into the side netting from just outside the box. After an impressive Kingstopian break, American Samoa hit back & put a shot just over on 14 minutes. Only 1 minute later Stuart Lee (L) crossed the ball in to Danny Smith (L), who headed just wide. The first half was a cagey one for both sides, with the Samoans looking slightly more likely to break the deadlock.

Second Half:
Arthur McKenzie (F.C.R.) came on for Danny Smith & the second half began. Just after the restart there was chaos in the Kingstopian penalty area as not one, not two, but three Samoan shots came flying in after being deflected by defenders throwing themselves in the way when finaly the third shot went over for a goal kick. Ryan Hickman (C.R.) came off for his clubmate Dean Newton on the 62nd minute. Judging by the run of play it was only a matter of time before American Samoa took the lead on 66 minutes. Deep into injury time a long ball from the defence found McKenzie through on goal but the only player to score for his nation so far shot over. The match ended in defeat.

Swift Progression

So the 2010-2011 season is now upon us & despite it being only the 2nd season in Kingstopian football history, there is already a status changes to report:

Last season's B League champions & Open Cup winners Casuals of Kingstopia have opted to go semi-professional from now on. They are certainly making strides to go from the unknown to Kingstopia's finest!

With all other teams on the island remaining amateur, the Casuals will have to be favorites to take TVK's A League crown!

Match Report:

First Half:
With not much action in the first quarter of an hour, suddenly the match came to life as Fiji worked the ball through the Kingstopian half culminating in a shot low to the right of the keeper what went in, but the flag was up for offside. on the 19th minute Fiji shot just wide from distance. Dean Blackwell (C) made a good save in goal for Kingstopia on 42 minutes from a dangerous cross. At half time much like in our nations last match, the opposition look to be the better side after a number of chances.

Second Half:
Jamie Gray (L.P.) was subbed off for John Towler (T.W.) at the hakf time break. Blackwell made 3 really good saves in the first 10 minutes of the second half. With just half an hour to go Kingstopia produced some impressive play ending with a shot just tipped over the bar for a corner. Defender Craig Law (T.V.K.) was injured on 66 minutes & was replaced by Adam Finnigan (K.R.). Fiji countinued their bruising tactics & on 78 minutes Ray Green (T.V.K.) was the second Kingstopian player to be injured & Andy Rogers (T.V.K.) came on for the final part of the game. Fiji had two more close chances before full time but the score remained 0-0.

My brothers! It is clear now that the palace is match fixing East Kingstopian games. Out of the 5 clear penalty shouts we had in the last game, only 1 was given. Match Report

First Half:
Tahiti started off the brighter side putting a shot narrowly over before striking the crossbar on 12 minutes. Kingstopia were 1:0 down by the 27th minute after a Tahiti free kick bounced off Ben Gardner (C) in goal & the rebound found a Tahiti striker who put it in the net.

Second Half:
At half time Steve McCarthy (T.W.) & Alex King (K.R.) came on for Rory Cresswell (u) & Chris Butterworth (K.R.). Just after the restart Tahiti struck a shot from quite far out which found its way past Gardner & in to the goal. 2:0 to Tahiti. On the 50th minute John Towler (T.W.) ran half the length of the pitch showing what the Kingstopians are capable of, but put the shot narrowly over. While the Republic of Kingstopia were enjoying their best spell of the game, Tahiti snuck a 3rd goal in against the run of play. At this point the usually calm & collected General decided he had seen enough & promptly left the Stade Olympique in Papeete. Half time substitute King did grab a consolation goal late on, scoring his first ever international goal & Kingstopia's 2nd international goal.

General to step down

After 4 games that yielded 2 draws & 2 defeats, Republic of Kingstopia's political leader & international football team manager General Paul Grundy is to step down as international manager. It is thought that he will leave the position to a suitable candidate that he will chose with the advice from the KFA. It is not known yet if our glorious leader is planning to take up mangement of a domestic side or take a break from the game to concentrate leading his glorious nation.

VT are pleased to learn that the General is stepping down! Unfortunately not as evil dectator of the nation, just as the national football team manager. We here at VT were over the moon with this news & we hope his replacement will alow the East Kingstopian players back into the squad to complete the team. We will eagerly wait for confirmation that this cancer on our country has at least let go of one of his sources of power.

Even happier days!

Well there it is people! The news we have all been waiting for... the General steps down from his international football team job. So what is our 'great' & 'glorious' leader General Paul Grundy going to do now? Hopefully his new found spare time will chill him out a bit & he can let his stranglehold on this nation go a bit.

Chris Baker - Grundy's number 2

Grundy's 2nd in command Chris Baker has assumed the role of international football manager. Grundy quit the post earlier this month & has been in talks with the KFA about his successor. Chris Baker served as the General's 2nd in command in the invasion of the former nation of Tuvalu. The ban on East Kingstopia players in the senior side has been lifted as Baker looks to build a united squad to improve on what Grundy left behind.

Do you not get points for drawing games.
Also did you actually gain full fifa meber status during the game or did you do that yourself in the editor

great story :) - hopefully I will be doing something the same with the Vatican City :D

Currently I'm not a full member of FIFA... I unticked it in the editer but after my test play to 2049. In the test play kingstopia DID NOT enter the WC ever but by about 2020 they were in qualifying for the Oceania Nations Cup. I'm not sure what effects unticking full FIFA member will have on this but hopefully it works out ok. I'm not 100% on my world rankings, I'll double check that when I get home tonight (along with another update!)

Words can't describe how good this is !! It's so innnovative, and you put so much detail into it, keep it up !
