Dear friends,

playing this slightly addicting game since 2012 and now sharing a tactic for the 1st time.
It's actually not a "Return", because I never posted a tactic before, but I I always like the tactical idea of the Role "Sweeper", so I decided to create a tactic "around" this specific Role that has been forgotten over the years or at least lost it's tactical relevance.

First of all, here's a Screenshot of the formation, because you'll gonna decide now if you stop reading this, or move along.
(Sorry Roles are in German)

There are so many great tactics here to find, but it's always been important to me to not just win the game, I wanted to win with style, combined with the formation I had in mind, with the roles I prefer to implement. It's important to me to have more than just one routine to score goals, I want to offer a variety.

FAQ:

I don't use OI
Yes - after your players are familiar with it und bring some required skills - this is Plug and Play.
Choose tall defenders with good passing, tackling and acceleration.
Choose DM's with good passing, high agility, teamwork and concentration.
Choose quick WB with good crossing and good dribbling.
Choose False Niners with good strength, passing, agility and decision.
Striker should be tall, good heading, good jumping, good finishing.
Substitute booked players in Half Time, if a player is being sent off just sacrifice the sweeper, you'll be fine.

Credit goes to BabeMocni1988 and his incredible Odesa v01 for giving basic inspiration.

Give it some time
Enjoy

Hopefully someone else is enjoying this.
I just finished my best season ever with 34 Wins in 34 Games, conceded only 12 Goals.
Lots of goals scored from distance as well. My 36 year striker scored over 30 goals in his last season before final retirement :-)

I'll give your formation a chance. Do you consider this tactic better than Odesa? I ask this because you sent results from the 41/42 season, which doesn't mean much, since it's possible to put together an excellent team after so many seasons.

I like the formation above better, because it's giving you more constancy and a higher variability of how you score goals.
Your comment is correct, anyway I think 12 conceded goals in a season is hard to achieve with every possible tactic, even in the year 2099.

looks a good one, i'll most definatly give this one a go

Fantastic tactic! playing as Vallecano and doing really well. No superstars only the rubbish players I inherited.

So sacrifice the keeper your saying ? Who goes in the net ?

I didn't give any recommendations to the Sweepers attributes, because his main goal is to stabilize the defence, give possession due to midfield overload and be the x-factor to your offense. But if you're adding a sweeper that has the ability to shoot from range, you will have a lot of fun. Multiple times goal of the month and lot's of canon-balls from 25m/30m. I didn't manage yet to find a good sweeper that has shooting skills and is both-fooded.

Make sure that your "head of youth development has a 5-defender favorite formation, to ensure that the youth intake is providing you players that fit the tactic.

Cheers would still go with a back three tho ?

If you're asking if the tactic is still working if you turn the Sweeper into a normal defender --> No

If you're asking if you can sacrifice another Position instead if the sweeper if you catched a red card --> Sure, depends on the current result, but i'd recommend to sacrifice the sweeper playing defender.

If you meant anything else, I didn't get it :)
