BREAKING NEWS!

Sky sources are telling us that Harry Redknapp has sensationally left Tottenham this afternoon. His replacement is rumoured to already be in talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. However no announcement is expected until compensation with Redknapp is agreed. No word on Redknapps decision is known, however is thought a lack of commitment at boardroom level is a major factor in his resignation.

BREAKING NEWS!

It is believed Tottenham have announced Ricky Evans as the new manager at White Hart Lane on a 4 year deal. Compensation with Redknapp of roughly £3m was agreed and 8pm tonight and thus resulted in the announcement of Evans being made. Evans' comments on his appointment were as follows: "Theres a great belief here that Spurs can break the leagues top 4. My task is to ensure this happens, it wont happen overnight but with a lot of building and backing from the board is easily achieveable. " When asked on player movement Evans revealed "I will use pre-season as my time to view players and decide where or if we need improvements. The squad and youth setup here is brilliant and everyone will get a chance to stake a first team claim. Loan deals outwards are possible for some academy boys, although nothing is final." Evans first task will be to instill a belief into his squad that they are good enough to break the Premier Leagues elite

Former Nottingham Forest star Dawson who joined Spurs for £4m has been listed for a mere £1m. The Engllish centre half currently out with a damaged achilles tendon is thought to be very disappointed with the decision.

Russian hitman Roman Pavlyuchenko is on his way out of Spurs. Evans has a number of quality strikers at his disposal and the Russian is thought to be way down the pecking order. Former Moscow forward Pavlyuchenko is thought to be keen at tryin his hand abroad.

A further announcement this evening which may send shockwaves through the Premier League is that Spurs have listed right attacking midfielder David Bentley, without the Englishman making a first team appearance. The former Blackburn man, and Arsenal youngster is said to be surplus to requirements. There is also rumours that another first team member has been listed to go out on loan.

Mexican youngster set for loan spell away from White Hart Lane. Giovani hasn't lived up to the hype he created for himself at Barcelona, and will now look to showcase his talents to Evans by getting first team football at elsewhere

Sky sources: David Bentley has joined Aston Villa for £5m, a move which has England frontman Emile Heskey delighted. Heskey said "David has terrific abilities as a player, he can sometimes be the difference between winning and losing and will certainly make competition for places on Villas right midfield very exciting." Having not made a single first team appearance, it remains to be seen the real reasoning behind his sale. Spurs boss Evans also revealed that 11th hour hijack bids were made by Man City and Everton, both higher than Villas, but Bentley has decided to link up with O'Neill at Villa Park

EVANS MAKES FIRST SIGNING AS SPURS BOSS!

Dutch left sided player Royston Drenthe has joined Spurs for £4m. The Real Madrid star becomes Spurs first signing of the summer and casts doubts over whether one of Spurs current left backs, Gareth Bale or Benoit Assou-Ekotto could move on.

Good signing in Drenthe, but don't use him at left back, he's way better on left midfield or left wing :)

VILLA AND SPURS DO BUSINESS AGAIN

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has completed a double whammy on Spurs by swooping for Russian Roman Pavlyuchenko. Pav, who is not a favourite of Evans is said to be delighted at the chance of re-igniting his career. It is thought Evans will not be looking to bring in another forward. Evans said "We have ample cover upfront in the squad, however the only way we would bring in another forward is if it was someone with immense talent, but it is unlikely to happen before January"

Spurs run riot at Wrexhams racecourse ground in Europa League 1st round qualifier. Robbie Keane netted a stunning hat trick and there was also a debut for Royston Drenthe, aswell as last Redknapp signing Niko Krancjar. There was also a run out for young left midfielder Danny Rose
