Sky sources are telling us that Harry Redknapp has sensationally left Tottenham this afternoon. His replacement is rumoured to already be in talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. However no announcement is expected until compensation with Redknapp is agreed. No word on Redknapps decision is known, however is thought a lack of commitment at boardroom level is a major factor in his resignation.

It is believed Tottenham have announced Ricky Evans as the new manager at White Hart Lane on a 4 year deal. Compensation with Redknapp of roughly £3m was agreed and 8pm tonight and thus resulted in the announcement of Evans being made. Evans' comments on his appointment were as follows: "Theres a great belief here that Spurs can break the leagues top 4. My task is to ensure this happens, it wont happen overnight but with a lot of building and backing from the board is easily achieveable. " When asked on player movement Evans revealed "I will use pre-season as my time to view players and decide where or if we need improvements. The squad and youth setup here is brilliant and everyone will get a chance to stake a first team claim. Loan deals outwards are possible for some academy boys, although nothing is final." Evans first task will be to instill a belief into his squad that they are good enough to break the Premier Leagues elite
