About River's relegation, here's one thing I can clearly see in Brazil. The relegation is, no doubts, a matter of joke forever(or until your rivals are relegated too), but for the club, it may prove to be the best moment for a revolution. I believe Athe~ is an Independiente fan, so he never faced the second division, and most of the European people would never imagine their team in the second division. Here, no país do futebol, 12 from the 17 teams who have already won the Brasileirão played the second division. Some, like the defending champs Fluminense, even played the 3rd tier of national football. The second division is a sure win(unless you're really, really struggling), so it's a year to concentrate in the political and financial aspects of the club. Anyway, I hope River to come back, and for Boca Jrs to be relegated. This way, the Libertadores will be easierXD
Like we say in Brazil, "Libertadores sem Boca e River já é meio caminho andado" (Libertadores without Boca and River is halfway done). Meanwhile, River's fans will have to dream, like Peter Crouch:

What about Independiente, who have won more Libertadores than any other team? Anyway, you might be right about the relegation, but all it will take for River is a couple poor results at the beginning and they could be there another year. As we saw the past couple seasons, the amount of pressure on them is tremendous, and it could be too much for them if they have a slow start. Especially since I'm guessing they're going to have to call up a lot of youth players and reserves who might be too young for the whole 'win or die' thing.
Racing and San Lorenzo have been relegated before (Racing was in the first year of the three year promotion thingy) and they recovered fine. Even if River has to spend an extra season or two in the B it won't be the end of the world. As mentioned previously, they still have their huge sponsorship deal with Adidas, and their huge fanbase will continue to buy tickets and merchandise. They'll have to be smart about their finances but when they make it back to the first division they will sell out every game and will start making up the deficit. I bet they'll come back a much better run club and will be challenging for titles in no time.
It amazes me how corrupt football is in Argentina...there have been so many awful owners that just suck the money out a club and run it really poorly. I don't understand how/why it happens.
