RGUOR Minsk

I present you RGUOR Minsk, the team with the best youth facilities in FM12! Shortly known as RUOR, they are a Belarusian academy team. Many of the current Belarusian stars have started their career there, including Zenit goalkeeper Yuri Zhevnov, Freiburg midfielder Anton Putsila and Bari striker Vitaliy Kutuzov. I played as them in FM11 and I made them the best club in the world with £500m in the bank and winning every possible title. Basically, that's what I'm trying to do again. Utter domination. I will probably manage the Belarusian national team at some point too, and try to win the World Cup with them.

I am not exactly sure where RUOR are really playing, due to a general lack of information (a Google search using RUOR Minsk as a keyword and mostly FM stuff comes up! I would gladly put some real pictures of their ground and the team but there aren't any) and my non-existent knowledge of Russian but I think they are playing in the fourth tier in Belarus. In the game however I swapped Partizan Minsk's reserve team with them in the third tier, Vtoroja Liga.

This is not going to be a story story, where I write about my kids (I hope I get one though 30 years in to the game) and beautiful wife Svetlana, rather a monthly report about the matches, transfers, players and happenings in and around the club.

The manager

I am Mikhail Belukhin. I was born on June 31, 1985 in Starye Dorogi. My football career didn't quite pan out as I wanted it to as I ended up playing as an amateur in FC Starye Dorogi in the fourth level of the Belarusian league system. I quit playing a few years ago as I was more interested in coaching. I applied for a youth coach position in RUOR's academy, and got it. The setup there is simply amazing, no wonder they've developed so many good players. RUOR used to be an academy only, but recently the board made a decision to change the club to a normal men's team from the start of the 2011 season and naturally they were looking for a manager. Having been at the club for some time and having coached the youngsters, the chairman Vadim Verbitskiy gave me opportunity to take up the manager's position. The contract included a very good weekly wage of £75 so I of course took it. Vadim made it very clear to me that he wants immediate promotions in succession to the Vysshaya Liga, the top tier. I will start in the end of January 2011. The season starts in April but I want to make sure I get enough time to do the required transfers and make everything work.

The club

As Vadim had promised, he had recruited a good number of players before my first day. Along with the 18 youth players, he had given me 16 older players to work with. We still need a few full backs and our midfield is inadequate. We are spending £547 on wages per week and Vadim gave me a weekly wage budget of £4.2k. That's more than enough to get some quality players in. Our financial situation is not the best, the balance being only £13k. Vadim warned me that the first few seasons may be financially difficult as the youth setup costs an estimated £100k in a month. We must make it into Europe at the earliest possible chance and get success there so a cup run this season would make things quite nice. We are semi professional at the moment and will probably turn professional after this season if, as planned, we get promoted. The coaching setup at the moment is nothing special, only an assistant manager, a coach, a scout and a physio. I will address that when we turn professional. Our stadium Kamvolschik is decent sized at this level, but I hope the club are ready to expand it. We get about 70 or so people per match and with the ticket price of £0.70 we get a magic £49 per match in tickets!

The players

View attachment 213816View attachment 213818

These are the players I start with. As you can see, there are players that are quality and then there are players that aren't. We have great potential in the youth team, but we need depth and I will be looking for loans and free signings. I know we can get in real quality for only a small amount of money. Savitskiy, Shtanyuk and Nesteruk are the brightest stars in the team at the moment.

I will do the next update after the pre-season so I get all the transfers, friendlies and everything included.

За Олимпийцы!
correct? Sid, where r u?

Good start man! Very interested/ Are they actually the best Youth academy in the game or did you use a editor to change it?

I haven't changed anything, so yeah, they are. Youth coaching, recruitment and facilities are all 20 (the best) and training facilities are 18 (second best). I'm trying to win the Champions League with own kids. Mind you, that was my objective in FM11 and I don't think I ever had a player in my starting 11 from the academy. Then again, the facilities are better in 12 than in 11.

Interesting , i'll have to keep up to date with this one. I love stories with youth involved!

Pre-season 2011

View attachment 213856View attachment 213857

I made 15 signings in the winter transfer window. We got three young players on loan from BATE and Veras, signed 11 free players and bought a young defender from Zvezda for £26k. The free transfers were mostly experienced players who'd start, the loanees won't be that much relied on. The friendlies went mostly well. We fighted admirably against top level sides Neman Grodno and Dinamo Minsk and won Rudensk and Gorodeya who are both a level higher than us. I intended the last match as a free-scoring spirit-raiser and it worked in that department. Our first league match is against Lida, who are being tipped for promotion too.

View attachment 213858

We now have adequate depth in the squad and I'm fairly confident that we will at least get promoted this season. Winning the league is what the board want, I hope they get that. Minsk and Dinamo Minsk were already trying to buy Metlitsky and Shtanyuk, but I rejected their offers. I am not going to sell any of my players unless the board decide for me.

Lida 1-1 RUOR

A game with not much chances. We dominated possession but couldn't win in the end. That's football. Buloychik finished a neat move, but Tretyak equalised for Lida after Kvatkovskiy failed to clear a corner.

View attachment 213861

RUOR 2-0 Kommunalnik Zhlobin

We dominated them completely, as the possession and shot figures show. We should have probably scored more, but didn't need to in the end. The first goal by Tarasenko was a beautiful free kick in to the top corner.

View attachment 213862

Vertical 0-5 RUOR

This result is what we're really about. We didn't dominate possession that much but we had more shots and took our chances. Buloychik made it three goals and assists in three appearances with his injury time strike. Centre back Velichko scored on his professional debut.

View attachment 213864View attachment 213865

Beltransgaz are the only side to have won all three matches, but we are second with a good goal difference. Lida and Zheldor are both my biggest opponents in the promotion battle and they have started equally well. We are almost £450k in red, can't have world-class youth setups for free. I'm hoping that we do get a good cup run. The cup starts in the summer.

really intresting man lookin forward to next update good luck in the cup run ill be following

Good start man , 7 points from a possible 9 is pretty good! KUTGW.

Vtoroja Liga:
RUOR 5-0 Zabudova

Metlitskiy scored a nice hattrick in a match we truly dominated. Zabudova didn't even have one shot! Our pass completion rate of 81% and Zabudova's 44% tells a bit about the proceedings. A very strong performance in our second home match of the season with a goodish attendance of 81 true fans.

View attachment 214038

Vtoroja Liga:
Smolevichi 0-1 RUOR

A not that spectacular win over the second worst team in the league, but we had more possession, passed better and created enough chances. The only goal came from the aftermath of a corner, we are bossing set pieces at the moment.

View attachment 214036

Vtoroja Liga:
RUOR 1-0 Neman Mosty

A routine performance by us to beat Neman with a Panteleev goal from a corner again. We had lots of shots but not as many on target as I would like. I'm afraid I didn't take a screenshot of the table but we were second after this month, just behind Lida.

June 2011

June started in jubilant mood all around the country as Belarus won France in the EURO qualifiers at home 2-0. Belarus are currently leading their group, being the only unbeaten side. They lead France by five points, though France have a game in hand.

View attachment 214041

Vtoroja Liga:
Beltransgaz 0-0 RUOR

It didn't start so well for us, as we could have and probably should have won that game having hit the woodwork. We dominated with the same style like before but couldn't just score.

View attachment 214042

Vtoroja Liga:
RUOR 1-0 Zvezda-BGU

226 people watched as we recorded our best ever attendance against our local opponents. We even made £140 in gate receipts! This was pretty much a repeat of the Beltransgaz match, with the exception that we (actually they) did score. It came from a free kick after hitting the post and a number of deflections. We need to hit more of our shots on target or we could start losing points.

View attachment 214043

Vtoroja Liga:
RUOR 6-0 Osipovichi

That's what we are supposed to do in every match. Panteleev scored a hattrick from his right midfield position and Metlitsky scored two, now Russian Premier League Krylja Sovetov are interested in him. I'm dreading the day the chairman accepts offers for our players because of the massive amount of money that our youth setup costs.

View attachment 214044

Vtoroja Liga:
Beryoza 1-4 RUOR

A very good away performance with Metlitsky and Panteleev continuing their goal scoring form. Bykov scored a nice chip goal for them but veteran Kashkar quickly cancelled it out with our second goal corner goal in the match and our seventh of the season.

View attachment 214048

Kubak Belarusi 1st round:
RUOR 2-1 Beltransgaz

Our much wanted cup run started with a 2-1 over Beltransgaz. It was very much a similar dominating performance to the ones in the league. We were awarded £1000 in prize money for this win. If we should win the cup, we would get at least £100k from it if I'm correct.

View attachment 214050View attachment 214051

With the financial situation being what it is, that cup money and the following money from Europe would really be nice. Our league position is looking promising. We have scored the most goals and conceded the least and are the only unbeaten side along with Lida. Zabudova are doing quite miserably.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for the comments dawgs, we're doing pretty well at the moment but it's only what's expected at this level. Post more comments, criticism, anything! Kthxbai

July 2011

With the transfer window opening the big clubs will be sniffing around my players and I'm hoping I can scare them off. We won't need any strengthening at the moment barring any injuries, though I am on the look out for any youngsters who have potential to play in the Visshaja Liga.

View attachment 214076

Vtoroja Liga 11/30:
Orsha 0-0 RUOR

We were once again on top, hitting the woodwork and having more shots but couldn't just score. A disappointing result, but luckily Lida drew with Zvezda so we are still in pole position in the league.

Dinamo Brest offered £14k for my goalkeeper Belkevich, but I'm not selling anyone and wanted £120k from them. They rejected that. Neman Grodno offered £12k for my centre back Savitskiy who has been playing well, but I'm not selling him either and requested £160k for him. Needless to say, they withdrew their bid.

View attachment 214084

Vtoroja Liga 12/30:
RUOR 1-1 Zheldor

Another disappointing result against Zheldor, who to be fair are pretty strong. We should have won the game, but lady luck was not with us and we hit the post twice. Lida overtook the number one spot and are now ahead on goals scored.

Dmitry Gavrilovich, who I signed in February, requested a transfer. He only played in the friendlies, he doesn't fit my tactic at the moment so I accepted it and offered him for free but at the moment nobody wants him. There was also the 2nd round cup draw. With our luck, we of course got Visshaja Liga side Dinamo Brest at home. I'm hoping to witness some giantkilling at Kamvolschik in August.

View attachment 214088

Vtoroja Liga 13/30:
RUOR 2-1 Livadia Dzherzhinsk

A dominating performance similar to the ones before but we managed to score twice and even though Belkevich somehow managed to flap a cross into his own goal, we came out on top with Chaley scoring the winner and his first for the club.

I scouted a few youth prospects and found Konstantin Beganskiy from Partizan Minsk's reserve team. He's a right midfielder who's got potential to play in the Visshaja Liga according to my scout. I made an offer of £50k for him, but they wanted £57k + 20% profit of the next transfer and I managed to negotiate it to £57k, paying £1.5k up front and £55k during four years. I offered him a two and a half year contract with a weekly wage of £60 and he gladly accepted it. I also offered contract termination to Dmitry Gavrilovich and he accepted it without compensation.

View attachment 214090

Vtoroja Liga 14/30:
Kommunalnik Slonim 1-1 RUOR

We really need to start winning these games, otherwise Lida will run away from us. We took the lead late on from a corner once again but they equalised even later with a 30 metre free kick which Belkevich should have saved. Total domination in every department but no goals.

View attachment 214091

Vtoroja Liga 15/30
RUOR 3-1 Dinamo-2 Minsk

A good win for us with 175 people watching. We again showed our set piece skillz as Savitskiy headed in a corner and Chaka headed in his debut goal from a free kick. Moroz also scored his first goal for the club. Lida were beaten 4-1 by Zheldor and we are the leaders again. 15 games played, 10 games won, 5 drawn, 0 lost.

View attachment 214092View attachment 214093

Zabudova finally managed to take their first point against Beryoza. The season is only half way but there's a small gap developing between us, Lida, Zvezda and the others. We are £700k in the red. Not looking too bright on the financial front, but I'll say it for the 42nd time: a cup run would be nice.

Is there any knid of substantial TV money in the top division? If there is you can gradually recoup money to pay your debts.

Good stuff so far. This has quickly become my favorite story on here because of the unknown element of playing in belarus but also you having world class youth facilities

Kubak Belarusi 2nd Round:
RUOR 2-1 Dinamo Brest

A great win by the lads! We even had more shots on target and had more possession. I used a 4-5-1 this time instead of the usual 4-4-1-1. Metlitsky had three golden chances: the first goal, one in the first half of the extra time and the second goal. The first one was a very nice move and the Brest defence was totally fooled. I tried to close the game out in the end, but couldn't and they equalised. We stayed positive and then in the second half of extra time Shushkevich put Metlitsky through and he finished well. He has now scored 12 in 17 appearances and Visshaja Liga side Dnepr Mogilev, along with FC Minsk and Krylja Sovetov, are interested in him. The board objective of advancing to the third round has now been fulfilled, but I would prefer to go much further.

We also have great news on the financial side, as the board injected £425k to help with the running costs. We are only £380k in the red now. We were also awarded £3000 for defeating Dinamo Brest.

View attachment 214104

Vtoroja Liga 16/30:
RUOR 2-1 Lida

This was an important game in the title race, and we showed our superiority by dominating once again. We could still improve our scoring though. Metlitsky disappointingly got himself sent off, but I have Shtanyuk to replace him so him not being available won't be that bad.

In the cup we were drawn against another Visshaja Liga side Shakhter Soligorsk. I could have got Pershaja Liga side Smorgon, but Shakhter beat them on penalties and I have some giant killing to look forward to. The third round is two legged and there are 16 teams in it. Neman Grodno are trying to get my winger and set piece specialist Nesteruk for a measly £9k but I am not selling him and I ask £160k for him and they naturally withdraw their bid.

View attachment 214106

Vtoroja Liga 17/30:
RUOR 4-2 Vertical

We are still keeping our unbeaten record whereas Lida and Zvezda have lost three matches. Shtanyuk did his job of replacing Metlitsky well, could have even scored a hattrick but he had to be subbed off. Very good play from us.

Another Visshaja Liga club Torpedo Zhodino made an offer of £12k for my right midfielder Dmitriy Panteleev but I rejected the offer. Centre back Alexandr Kirilchik wants playing time, but at this moment he won't be getting any. I offer to terminate his contract and he accepts.

View attachment 214107

Vtoroja Liga 18/30
Kommunalnik Zhlobin 1-3 RUOR

Another good away performance, our wingers took care of the scoring as Metlitsky didn't do it. Zhlobin were playing a really adventurous formation with a sweeper, two CBs, two WBs, three CMs and two STs. Credit to them but it didn't work against us. We completed 87% of our passes, that's probably the best completion rate I've ever had.

View attachment 214108View attachment 214109

Our finances are looking much better now with the injection, I hope the board is ready for more of them because we still lose over £100k a month. The league table is looking really good, we are pretty much promoted unless something happens.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there any knid of substantial TV money in the top division? If there is you can gradually recoup money to pay your debts.

I don't really think so and the ticket prices are so poor that I will be pretty much relying on constantly qualifying for the Champions League group stages. I hope the board continues to be generous for the time being. Thanks for the comments!

Really enjoying this because of the regularity and simple layout of the updates, good luck and i'll keep following :)

How do play with this team? Do I need to activate a league in the editor?

By default there's only the first and second division in Belarus, with the third being inactive. There's also a fourth inactive division where RUOR are. I changed the third division to a normal league and put the fourth as the inactive one and swapped RUOR for Partizan Minsk's reserve team in the third division. I hope that's clear enough <)

View attachment 214247

Vtoroja Liga 19/30:
Zabudova 0-4 RUOR

September started off with a convincing 4-0 away win over soon-to-be-relegated Zabudova. Nesteruk assisted three goals in the 45 minutes he played. We had 31 shots and that's probably the most I have ever had in FM. Centre back Igor Kvyatkovskiy scored his first goal for the club and Metlitsky continued his goal scoring form.

I asked the board to go full time and they agreed, we will turn full time before the start of the 2012 season. That's great news. I will be able to get proper coaches, physios and scouts.

View attachment 214257

Vtoroja Liga 20/30:
RUOR 4-1 Smolevichi

Another bossing-it performance against the second biggest relegation candidate Smolevichi. Metlitsky could have scored a hattrick as he earned a penalty but missed it. Our third goal came from a corner once again. We gave the opponent no chance at all and are looking pretty good for the league title.

View attachment 214260

Kubak Belarusi 3rd Round 1st Leg:
RUOR 1-0 Shakhter Soligorsk

Next up was our cup match against Visshaja Liga champion candidates Shakhter Soligorsk. It was vital to take something from the home match and we did that, right at the deatch as centre back Savitskiy headed in a Nesteruk corner. We had more chances than our strong opponents and we took them. This gives us a good platform to go to Soligorsk and get ourselves through to the fourth round.

View attachment 214267

Visshaja Liga 21/30:
Neman Mosty 0-2 RUOR

Shatalov assisted both and Metlitsky took care of the finishing. He has now scored 17 in 23 appearances. We continue our 24 match unbeaten run.

View attachment 214268

Visshaja Liga 22/30
RUOR 2-1 Beltransgaz

The lad just loves to score. Metlitsky scored the winner and Nesteruk netted a penalty which Metlitsky earned and even though Velichko got sent off we had no real trouble and won the match comfortably.

View attachment 214274

Kubak Belarusi 3rd Round 2nd Leg:
Shakhter Soligorsk 0-3 RUOR

Wow. I certainly didn't expect this kind of a result. We took the chances we had where as they didn't and we won. Nesteruk's second goal was a thing of a beauty from a free kick. We are in the quarter finals and we're £5k richer!

View attachment 214275View attachment 214276

With eight games remaining in the league, we should really win the league without too much hassle. Finally we had luck on our side in the cup draw as we got Pervaja Liga Granit while all the others were Visshaja Liga sides. If we manage to win Granit, we will be awarded £15k. It will be a while before we can go collect that prize money, as the matches will be played in March and April 2012. That's the downside with the Belarusian cup.

Vtoroja Liga 23/30:
Zvezda-BGU 1-1 RUOR

For once we were the ones who were dominated. Luckily Metlitsky scored our only shot on target. Zvezda had a few chances to score more, but I think their first goal was a bit dubious in the way my defender was tackled so I guess a draw is a fair result.

View attachment 214291

Vtoroja Liga 24/30:
Osipovichi 3-2 RUOR

I guess this has been coming. Our 27 match long unbeaten run has come to an end as Osipovichi beat us at Yunost. I hope this brings some of our guys back down to earth who maybe got a bit carried away with the run. I hope this is not the start of the bad run that could cost us the title I wrote earlier about.

View attachment 214294

Vtoroja Liga 25/30
RUOR 4-1 Beryoza

A good response from the lads. We reverted back to our normal domination. Dmitry Chaley had a very good match, the utility man scored two and assisted one. One assist for Nesteruk too, who has 6 goals and 15 assists in 20 appearances. Following this win, we only need to take four points from our five remaining matches to win the league.

View attachment 214299

Vtoroja Liga 26/30
RUOR 4-1 Orsha

That Metlitsky hattrick secured the promotion for us and another point from the last four games will give us the league title. Metlitsky is leading the Vtoroja Liga goal scoring charts with 19 goals in 25 matches. Pervaja Liga here we come!

In other news Pervaja Liga side Slutsk beat Visshaja Liga leaders BATE. They are the only lower league side in the last eight along with us and Granit. I have also terminated striker Andrey Gusar's contract as he wasn't getting playing time and requested a transfer.

View attachment 214300

Vtoroja Liga 27/30
Zheldor 0-2 RUOR

With this win we secured the league title. We created the chances and took them and scored from a corner again. The board's expectations for the season are now fulfilled.

View attachment 214301View attachment 214302

I hope the lack of money doesn't affect our transfer funds required to prepare for the 2012 season in the Pervaja Liga. We, as expected, won the league easily and have been tight in defence and sharp in attack.

Congrats on winning the league!

What will your aim next season be? Surviving, or do you reckon you can push on to the top half of the table?

Vtoroja Liga 28/30:
Livadia Dzherzhinsk 2-0 RUOR

Having won the league, we probably weren't fully concentrated and combined with a few youngsters and fringe players getting playing time we lost. We also had bad luck with injuries, as three of our players got injured in the match. Luckily none were too serious.

View attachment 214624

Vtoroja Liga 29/30:

View attachment 214625

Vtoroja Liga 30/30:
Dinamo-2 Minsk 1-3 RUOR

I wanted to end the season on a good note so I put out our strongest starting eleven and used no youngsters unlike in the previous two matches. They did the job well and we ended the season with a nice away win.

View attachment 214626View attachment 214627

We scored the most goals and conceded the least with Lida. Our gap was ten points in the end, because we lost two of our last three matches. With £770k in the red, I hope we manage to attract more people to watch matches next season. We get the £53k in sponsor money, but that's about all the money we will get.

I am pleased with our first season. We did what was expected, won the league and advanced in to the cup quarter finals. Particularly satisfying were the wins over Visshaja Liga sides Dinamo Brest and Shakhter Soligorsk and we have a good chance of going into the semi final as we meet fellow Pershaja Liga side Granit in March and April. I'm not sure what to expect from the next season. Our reputation is so big that we'll be expected to win it and it will be the board's target. I don't know if my squad can win it and even though I have youngsters who have lots potential, they still aren't ready. We also have no money for new signings, so I will have to look for loans and freebies.
