Breaking News
Former Moto GP and Italian world champion, Valentino Rossi, was unveiled as the new manager for The Diamonds yesterday evening. This could prove to be a tough challenge for the rookie manager who will be taking charge of a club for the first time in his football career.

Club History/Info
Rushden and Diamonds was formed on 21 April 1992 by a merger of Rushden Town and Irthlingborough Diamonds, the brainchild of Max Griggs. The club's first few seasons were remarkable for the success the team enjoyed, finishing 3rd in the Southern League Midland Division in their inaugural season. The following year they won the division, winning promotion to the Southern League Premier Division, and two years later the Diamonds were again promoted as champions. The team had gained promotion to the Football Conference after just four years as a club. Nicknamed the Diamonds, the club plays at Nene Park.

Pre Season Matches

Played a total of 6 matches with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losts. Rossi was quite satisfied with the pre season results.

Player Transfers

Our season expectation was to finish within the top half of the table so The Diamonds manager was not given any transfer fund so he had to loan in some players in order to strengthen his small squad.

Rushden & Diamonds promotion hopes was dealt with a serious injury blow as their star player, Matt Ritchie who is currently on loan from Portsmouth, will be out of action for around 4 to 5 months due to a torn calf muscle. Ritchie, who plays as an attacking midfielder has been in his fantastic form since joining The Diamonds and has scored a total of 12 goals for the club so far.

Start of Season 10/11

Odds

Rushden & Diamonds have been tipped as outsiders to win promotion to League 1 this campaign. The board have told manager Valentino Rossi to stay away from relegation this season but he assured the board that he is confident that his side can achieve at least a mid table finish or even higher.

To start off the campaign, the board didn't really gave us any transfer budget but the wage budget was being increased slightly more. Rossi will now be hunting for some good players that have been released by their clubs as well as players that are available for loan in order to strenghten his squad.

have you got a kenyan right back in your team mate.? Cause he lives a few doors away from me. and he is constantly throwing parties. lol

Hmm, what's his name? I dont have any Kenyan players in my squad.

Keep up the great work mate! You're doing immense. :)

Curtis Osano. he plays for them in my fm game

Oh Osano is a Kenyan? Didn't realise that tho. Yes he is in my squad and my first choice RB XD

Cheers Chris! (H)

Pre Season Transfers
Diamonds manager Valentino Rossi wasted no time during the transfer window and managed to capture former Blackpool forward, Daniel Nardiello who was released by his club.

Rossi even went on to sign another 2 attackers on loan in order to boost his squad. They are Danijel Subotic who won the player of the season with us in the Blue Square Premier and Arsenal's talented youngster, Rhys Murphy.

Good signings mate. :) Good luck for this year.

August Results

It was not a great start for Rossi's boys as they lost to recently relegated Yeovil. Rushden were 2-0 up but Yeovil put on a strong fightback to win the game by a single margin. Tbh, the result could have gone either way. Following that, The Diamonds lost against a Cardiff side in the league cup 1st round.

To many surprise, Rossi's side thrashed an injury stricken Bournemouth side in an away encounter whereby Daniel Nardiello bagged his first hat trick for the club. Rushden put on their best performances for the next few matches and they recorded their biggest win ever by whooping Burton 7-0 at home with Tomlin scoring a record of 4 goals in a match.

League Table as at end of August

Sitting pretty comfortably in 2nd place behind current league leaders, Grimsby Town.

Rushden & Diamonds start off the new year with a win against League 1 side, Carlisle in the 3rd round of FA Cup. But their remarkable form in the league came to an abrupt end after a narrow defeat against 2nd in the league, Rotherham. They suffered their 2nd lost in the month against Championship side, Leicester City in the 4th round of FA Cup. But then again, The Diamonds bounce back with a 3-1 win against Notts County at Nene Park.
