Gago is **** and got more chances than he deserved. He would have been city player had it not been for messing up on deadline day..

And people thought Ozil will play second fiddle to Kaka and now Kaka is not able to get into the team. This is Jose's team. If you are good enough then you will be played no matter what

Should not underestimate him. He is good enough to be a starter in that team.Neither Ozil, nor Alonso has an automatic spot in Real Madrid now.
 
They play loads and loads of matches every year, he'll get ample opportunities to spell Alonso, and possibly play with him vs. weaker opposition.

But seriously, you can only have so many playmakers in Jose's system. While they don't play the same position, this surely means Granero will get even less chances, and Canales will probably never see the field in the next few seasons unless he can transition to the wings on a more permanent basis.

Pretty sure I said rotation? He isn't direct competition to Ozil either, Kaka is.

Well yeah you said backup/rotation, to me he will be more like rotation/first team. Regardless, wish him a successful spell in Madrid. Hopefully they will be able to compete with Barca, it starts to get boring.
 
everything said...first team or rotation or backup.. i don't know about anyone else...atleast i'll go to sleep tonight happy that Real have signed an amazing talent...someone who has proven himself at the big stage (i think we can all agree that Bundesliga is really going strong these days)...something Sneijder, Gago and maybe to a small extent Van der Vaart hadn't done when they joined Real Madrid..at a time when the team really didn't have a quality/good/decent manager who knew what to do with them...so yeah, i'm happy, couldn't care less if you're not :)

He's not first team, because Alonso has his place set. He isn't better than Alonso.
 
It's quite sad to see another talent setting themselves up to waste their careers as a bench player. Where is he going to play? Khedera & Alonso have their places in the squad signed, sealed and delivered. He will join the ranks of Mascherano & Affelay. Hleb etc in joining Barca/Real ... and being a bench player. This sounds like a troll but it's honestly not. He wont get many games at Real and he will sit on the beach really.

I haven't seen Mascherano being a bench warmer. He is in rotation. And Afellay was never intended to be in the starting 11 from day 1.

Yes but this is what I mean. Some players are naive in thinking that going to Real/Barca/City(Possibly?), will be best for them but really they wont be a regular and will be on bench playing some games if that.

Sahin great player but he is wasted at Madrid... the only place I can see him getting in the squad is if he is dropped deeper into the khedira/diarra position as they already have so many attacking creative mids... Sahin will regret this i think. Obviously it was inevitable that another world class attacking midfielder would go to spain as the english clubs just dont compete with the spanish giants....

He isn't a khedira/diarra. He's more of an Alonso. Madrid have missed Alonso so much whenever he hasn't played, so adding cover for him and a future replacement makes perfect sense. Sahin's 23, and he's moving to a club with someone who he can learn so much from (Alonso), and in 3-4 years he'll be the first name on the teamsheet at one of the largest teams in the world. This deal makes perfect sense for both sides.

I dont see how its bad for his career, the average age of the real madrid side is 23, same as arsenals IIRC

Nuri Sahin forgive me if I am wrong but I thought he was a Fabregas type player, a creative spark not a holding defensive midfielder type player like Alonso??

Alonso isn't a holding player either, he's the deep lying playmaker. He links defence to attack in one fell swoop with his phenomenal passing range. Sahin is essentially mk.II of that, makes teams tick. Alonso is arguably more important than Ronaldo, so it's perfectly logical that they'll take one of the brightest young players of a similar mould now, while he's cheap, where he can learn his trade and slot into the team. I can almost promise you, that should he settle well he'll be the first name on the Madrid teamsheet in 4 years time.
 
Oh well in that case 4 years of his career wasted, he deserves first team football now, I have seen him, he really is good.

they said about Ozil, oh wait. Very good move for Sahin in the middle future. He will rotate at first and become first team eventually.
