Henriquez, Ince

Brighton 0 v 1 Swansea (L)

Schalke 3 v 0 Brighton (EC)
3-2 on aggregate

Brighton 1 v 0 Wigan (L)
Cabella

Summary
Not a great month for us as we struggled against the lesser teams in the league and go out of the Europa Cup. We scrapped through against Forest and Wigan but the main thing is we got six points. Swansea showed how poor we were by beating us comfortably. In Europe, I thought we were through to the next round after a fine home display but Kevin Prince Boateng destroyed us in the second leg.

May Summary
2 tough games left
Will we get Champions League?
Greer’s last game

Chelsea 5 v 1 Brighton (L)
Henriquez

Brighton 5 v 0 Man Utd (L)
West (2), Ince Buckley, Meekings

Summary
One great result and one poor result. Chelsea completely outplayed us in every position and it shows the quality between a top team and a mid-table team. We finished our last game against Man Utd and completely destroyed them. To be fair they had already won the league but we are the only team to take points off them both home and away. Greer also played his last game for us.

Season Summary
Another good season for us as we improved on last year’s position to finish fifth in the league and we did well in our first European campaign. After a very good start in the league our form tailed down but we still finished in a respectable fifth which is a great achievement as we were playing Championship football not too long ago. In Europe we did much better than expected, progressing from a tough group and narrowly losing to Schalke. The only disappointments was our progress in both domestic cups as we lost to both Burnley and Fulham quite early on. Hopefully we will have a better cup run next season.

In the Premier League Man Utd were again crowned champions with Chelsea, Man City and Tottenham taking up the remaining Champions League spots. Thanks to our fifth place finish we will be playing European football again next season. Cardiff, Nottm Forest and QPR all got relegated with Norwich, Reading and Derby coming up to replace them. Tottenham beat Sheff Utd 2-1 in the League Cup and Man Utd beat Newcastle 1-0 in the FA Cup.

Around Europe: PSG, FC Bayern, Feyenoord, Inter, FCP and Barcelona won their leagues. In the Europa Cup it was an all English affair as Newcastle beat Chelsea 3-2. In the Champions League FCP denied Man Utd the treble with a 1-0 victory.
