DECEMBER
Unbeaten month sees United stay top
Merry Christmas! haha

Tranmere Rovers 0-1 Sheffield United (FA Cup 2nd round)
Cofie
First of the tough fixtures this month, really wanted to do well in this cup and get a bit of extra cash in. When Cofie smashed the ball in from close range in the 86th minute I thought it was an excellent result against a good Tranmere side.

Sheffield United 2-2 Bournemouth
Maguire, McNamee
United were poor up to Sean Davis' arrival in the game. He picked out maguire from a free kick to get to 1-1. From a counter Bournemouth ran riot and capped off the move with Josh McQuoid. But straight form the kick off McNamee hit a speculative shot which hit the post and went in. Great point.

Coventry City 1-1 Sheffield United
Cofie
Toughest game, so proud of the lads. Thought we had it when Cofie got on the end of a Lloyd Sam cross, but in the last seconds McGoldrick sent the Ricoh into raptures as he latched on to a excellent John Fleck pass.

Sheffield United 2-0 Hartlepool
Cofie, Maguire
Efficient performance with Cofie continuing his hot streak.

Oldham Athletic 0-4 Sheffield United

Baxter 2, Cofie, Maguire
Excellent away performance on new years eve. Baxter ran riot and had a 3rd ruled out for offside.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Decembers award went to Manchester United loanee John Cofie. He's scored consistently this month notching 4 in 5 games. Form that I want to see carry through the rest of the season.

WASDEN AND MCCABE IN FURIOUS TRANSFER SHOWDOWN..

A huge divide has hit Sheffield United as Chairman Kevin McCabe accepted a bid of £2.3M for highly rated defender Harry Maguire. McCabe accepted behalf of the management as he felt the figure was "too good to turn down in the financial stuggle" for the league one leaders. Wasden hit back by asking how he's supposed to get promotion when his best players are getting sold without him having a say on the matter.

Its still unclear if Wasden will be able to spend the cash to get a replacement or if he will stick with Collins, Barnett and Bates.

absolute furious, didnt get one penny of the money i got for Maguire. Got a fantastic player coming in though, i'll update later when its confirmed

PETRUCCI SIGNS ON A FREE FROM MANCHESTER UNITED

Highly rated Italian midfielder Davide Petrucci has signed for Sheffield United until summer 2014. Wasden revealed Sir Alex Ferguson offered him in a free as he felt it was the right move for all parties involved. We'd expect to see Petrucci slowly build into the team. Already thought to be in the mind of Wasdens plans for next season.

JANUARY

Transfer window round up
Blades out of FA Cup
Stretch lead at the top

Sheffield United 2-1 Swindon Town
Cofie, Baxter
Played well, just couldnt convert the chances, Navarro scored a stunner but Baxter replied immediately to make it 2-1

Sheffield United 4-0 Darlington (FA Cup 3rd round)
OG, Cofie 2, Baxter
Easy win. Didnt have to come out of third gear but still a good win.

Brentford 0-3 Sheffield United
Cofie, Maguire, Westlake
Comfortable away win, Westlake scored a screamer which was named goal of the month and it was Maguires last game.

Scunthorpe United 0-2 Sheffield United
Flynn 2

A quickfire double from wing wizard Ryan Flynn ensured victory for The Blades.

Sheffield United 2-2 Notts County
Baxter, OG
An absolute screamer from Jose Baxter (second in goal of the month) fired up a Sheff United fightback which was complete after 75 minutes when Baxters shot deflected off Arquin. Goals from Alan Judge and Arquin gave County and early lead at Bramall Lane.

Stevenage 1-1 Sheffield United
Flynn
Another Ryan Flynn goal earned United a point in the second v first clash. United had to come from behind again but when McNamee burst down the left wing and crossed for Ryan Flynn on the back post they had the momentum. They just couldn't find a winner.

Sheffield United 0-1 Huddersfield Town (FA Cup 4th round)
Defeat for United after a sublime Oliver Norwood free kick. This ended United's cup run.

TRANSFER WINDOW ROUND UP

United only brought in one player but a fantastic free transfer in Davide Petrucci. On the other hand Dave Kitson and Kevin McDonald were deemed surplus to requirements. Finally the controversial move of Harry Maguire to Wolves for ?2.3M.

Not really a stand out candidate but Ryan Flynn scored some crucial goals including a late goal at Stevenage. Also picked up a few assists to add to his already impressive tally.

FEBRUARY

United falter away from home
Incredible unbeaten record continues

Sheffield United 1-0 Colchester United
Petrucci
A debut to remember as Petrucci smashes the ball in from the edge of the area to give United 3 points.

Sheffield United 2-0 Leyton Orient
Hill, Cofie
Comfortable home performance from United. A new formation to get used to seems to be paying dividend.

Preston North End 2-2 Sheffield United
Petrucci, Cofie
Another goal for the new boy, what a start for the lad. Cofie equalised from close range with 5 to play after been 2 down

Tranmere Rovers 2-2 Sheffield United
Collins, Flynn
Another faltering defensive display without Maguire as United went 1 up early on. Akpa Akpro notched 2 and United look defeated. A barrage of attacks in the second half seems to have no prevail until Baxter put in the sub Flynn who finished with ease.

Carlisle United 2-2 Sheffield United
Cofie 2
Another tough away day for United. They went 2-1 ahead thanks to a John Cofie brace but he missed a penalty to seal the deal. Murphy then punished the miss with a equaliser.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

The award goes to Davide Petrucci, he provided 3 assists and 2 goals in ferbruary. Showing his class and how he has settled in to a new team quickly. Much deserved.

MARCH

Historic month as United are crowned Champions
Poor youth intake

Sheffield United 2-0 Shrewsbury
Baxter, Montgomery
Poor performance from the league leaders but still a victory and a step closer to promotion.

Sheffield United 4-2 Doncaster
Cofie 2, Collins, Baxter
Absolute class going forward, Cofies 2 goals were a joy to behold, but the highlight of the game was Baxters intricate chip to make it 4. Although he isnt on the score sheet, the day belonged to Petrucci as he assisted 3 of the 4 goals with hes sharp passing and creativity.

Crewe 1-1 Sheffield United
Bowyer

Just wasn't at the races today, a great start but didnt have much going forward. Still a point.

Sheffield United 1-0 MK Dons
Bowyer
Another poor attacking performance. Expected more from the likes of Bullard and Smith but United dealt with them well. Bowyers stunning strike off the bar in the 28th minute was the highlight.

Crawley 1-4 Sheffield United
Baxter 2, Flynn, Kennedy

Jose Baxter stole the show with 2 fantastic goals. He's proving to be such a great buy on a free transfer, also Terry Kennedy got on the score sheet on his debut, another highly rated youngster from Uniteds academy.

Sheffield United 3-0 Portsmouth
Petrucci 2, Cofie
Best performance of the season by no doubt. Played them off the park, on another day it could have been double figures. To top it off this was the day we gained promotion to the Championship. All what was left was to be crowned Champions

Sheffield United
2-0 Yeovil
Collins, Petrucci
Bramall Lane rocked from the Kop to the Jess Ennis stand as Sheffield United secured a return to the Championship. Davide Petrucci sealed this with a kiss in the 36th minute as he added to Neil Collins header. United were CHAMPIONS and how they earned!

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Went to the one and only Davide Petrucci. He was excellent this month providing 3 goals and 5 assists! Incredible month and what a signing he's been. Too good for this league.

END OF SEASON- THE FINAL RUN IN

Season comes to a dramtic end in the race for playoffs
Notts County and Bournemouth join United in the Championship
Cofie wins top goalscorer award
4 in team of the year

Walsall 0-3 Sheffield United
Petrucci, og, Collins
Another great performance as United continue their impressive run. Wasden has said he will be playing a few fringe players in these games.

Sheffield United 0-0 Bury
Bore draw at the Lane, United played alot of their reserves and left key players such as Cofie and Montgomery out.

Bournemouth 1-1 Sheffield United
Baxter
United were in cruise mode here, didn't put 100% in but still came away with a valuable point.

Sheffield United 4-0 Coventry
Petrucci 2, Baxter, Barnett
A fantastic performance from The Blades, Petrucci pulled the strings once again and picked up a MoM. The champions gearing up for next season.

Hartlepool 0-0 Sheffield United
The unbeaten run continues and the fringe players should really have won the game. Dominating in every statistic they just failed to take the chances.

Sheffield United 2-1 Oldham Athletic
Cofie, Montgomery
Cofies goal won him the top goalscorer award so it was a special moment for the man on loan from Manchester United. Already relegated Oldham gave up a good fight and get their goal through a penalty.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Neill Collins won his place back in the team by putting some great performances in.
