Followed up the derby win against Benfica with another emphatic performance but this time not conceding. Roll On Bayern Munich.

Gained a credible draw in Munich but after taking the lead I was hoping we could hold out for the draw but it was not to be.

Sporting MOM: Caniera 7.4 Patrolled the defense well and deserved his goal

The teams were coming up against are just rolling over and dying and not putting up a fight in the league. Looks like it’s easy street to the title.

Ooops looks like I spoke to soon as I was giving my sternest test in the league so far this season. Late Milevskyi equaliser saved our blushes.

Didn’t play the first two games of the season but took over from Stojkovic and has kept the goal since.
Vladimir Stojkovic 2 Games 0 Goals 0 Assists Av.Rating 7.05 MOM 0
Not played enough games this season but would be a reliable stand in if Kameni got injured.

Defenders:

Caniera 25 Games 2 Goals 1 Assists Av.Rating 7.12 MOM 2
Been mixing about with the back four but Caniera has been a permanent fixture in my side and his performances have backed up my faith in him.
Hasan Salihamadzic 8 Games 0 Goals 0 Assists Av.Rating 6.90 MOM 0
He was injured up until November and as soon as he came back he had to fill in for the injured Abel and has made the position his own.
Abel 13 Games 0 Goals 1 Assists Av.Rating 7.06 MOM 0
Was doing well at right back but a long term injury has ruled him out for 4 months, and with Salihamadzic performing well it will be hard to regain his place.
Kakha Kaladze 24 Games 0 Goals 2 Assists Av.Rating 7.07 MOM 0
The former Milan player has brought leadership and experience to the young squad and not put a foot wrong all season.
Leandro Grimi 5 Games 0 Goals 1 Assists Av.Rating 7.33 MOM 0
Grimi has only played the cup games this season due to the form of Kaladze so not seen the best of him yet.
Tonel 15 Games 0 Goals 0 Assists Av.Rating 7.13 MOM 1
Most of the games Tonel has played are coming off the bench when the game is over to get some game time.
Daniel Carrico 21 Games 0 Goals 1 Assists Av.Rating 7.12 MOM 1
Probably the best defender in the team and the vice captain has been very commanding at the back and hopefully it will continue

Midfielders:

Miguel Veloso 23 Games 2 Goals 9 Assists Av.Rating 7.09 MOM 1
Didn’t start the season well but is performances have got better and has chipped in with 2 goals and 9 assists.
Marat Izmailov 4 Games 0 Goals 0 Assists Av.Rating 6.70 MOM 1
Has only recently returned from injury but will only get time on the pitch if Veloso or Moutinho gets injured.
Joao Moutinho 25 Games 1 Goals 5 Assists Av.Rating 7.00 MOM 2
The captain Moutinho’s relationship with Veloso is what has given us the platform to beat teams and has set up 5 goals.
Miguel Angel Angulo 15 Games 1 Goals 4 Assists Av.Rating 7.03 MOM 1
Most of Angulo’s appearances have come of the substitutes bench but has still played his part with 1 goal and 4 assists in 15 games.
Pereirinha 21 Games 2 Goals 4 Assists Av.Rating 6.92 MOM 0
He hasn’t had the best season but haven’t got anyone better then him to take his place on the right of midfield but will have to stick with him
Simon Vukcevic 25 Games 7 Goals 11 Assists Av.Rating 7.24 MOM 2
By far the player of the season so far may not have scored as many goals as the strikers but has scored a fair few and also chipped in with a few.
Denilson 9 Games 1 Goals 0 Assists Av.Rating 6.75 MOM 0
Denilson joined on a free transfer and has only come on as a sub for Denilson but provides experience for the team.

Strikers:

Artem Milevskyi 22 Games 18 Goals 4 Assists Av.Rating 7.29 MOM 4
Signing of the season and formed a great partnership with Kone up front with 34 goals between them. He has also scored 4 hat tricks so far.
Helder Postiga 14 Games 4 Goals 2 Assists Av.Rating 7.00 MOM 0
Not been given many starts this season but when he did get a chance he gives the team an outlet ball and puts the ball in the back of the net when he gets a chance.
Arouna Kone 24 Games 16 Goals 6 Assists Av.Rating 7.30 MOM 4
I didn’t expect him to score many goals for us but he has and has formed a great partnership with Milevskyi.
Felipe Caicedo 6 Games 3 Goals 1 Assists Av.Rating 7.22 MOM 1
Again has not played many games but can’t argue with Kone and Milevskyi on top form.
 
Sporting CP manager Kyle Friel has today announced there will be no more transfers in or out for this season so here is the transfer summary.

Relatively easy result in the end after making a hash of it but Caicedo made the difference.
