Wolfsburg are lining up Martin Jol to be their manager - but Steve McClaren has begged for a stay of execution.
Former England boss McClaren is set to be sacked after seeing his side dumped out of the German Cup with a humiliating 3-1 home defeat at the hands of second division Cottbus.
Wolfsburg are also languishing 13th in the Bundesliga after seven league games without a win, but the boss has pointed the finger at his underachieving players.

Personally, I don't like the guy especially at my hometown's football club. He's only good at lower league clubs; not clubs with high calibre players.

Had high expectations after his league win with Twente. I feel sorry for him.

I don't know, I never wanted him as a manager. We have quality players like Diego, Grafite, Bengalio, Dzeko and etc. And he failing miserable drew the last SEVEN Bundesliga games.

Has he developed a German accent yet? His Dutch one wouldn't go down too well in Germany thanks to the rivalry...

Just the standard of football, I guess and he cannot cope with it.

Failed the German accent miserably, I sound more German than him and I've spent most of my life in England.

mate, how Mandzukic plays in Wolfsburg?
He's been injured a lot and played last night and kept arguing with the ref and consequently been booked and then subbed at half time.

Well, since he's in Wolfsburg. He doesn't really sounds like Wolfsburger.

Yes, typical for him! He must concentrate of game, not on ref always..and his yellow cards is just annoying, so stupid.. but I think if he plays more, he will prove his place in first team

I really think that if you get those results having this squad you deserve to be sacked.

He was quite good. We should of got a penalty when he jumped and got sandwiched, but he was just doing stupid things and after arguing for the 6th time. Ref just booked him.

I know the Berliner and the Wolfsburger accent quite well. Probably Dutch. :p
Nah they compared it to his dutch one with Twente too. I think he just puts a certain twang on his words whenever he goes to a new country, he's hardly going to sound like a Wolfsburger after a few months after all :)

Please God, have him use an Umbrella for his last game in charge.

He doesn't really sound that German, could be a northern German accent, not exactly sure.
