OMG, You think you lot did well without no Gerrard, Torres and Yossi , ****** **** we have had no defence, for weeks, and we are 2nd, just adimit it Liverpool are in deepshix, when utd lost to Leeds, it was bad enough, but losing to Reading, that was your last chance. Top 4 , I don't think so, I would say you lot will finish 6th

I guess you're referring to it being an offence to trip or attempt to trip lee but come on it's a sad state of affairs if what n'gog did should be rewarded with a penalty.

I agree, N'gog should of been punished for what he did. Hopefully some of the Liverpool staff gave him a talking too afterwards.

It's not because it was an attempt too trip but because the defenders action would of forced N'gog too change his path which is a foul. It's a similar concept from when players lunge into tackles dangerously but don't make any contact with the player (or the ball), that would be deemed as dangerous and should still result in a sending off.

If instead of diving N'gog simply hurdled the tackle then it would of still been a foul. Sadly if he did that it you know it just wouldn't of been given.

Here's a post I made about that a few days ago....

Man Utd's situation at the time of their injuries was very different too ours. We have used 13 (I think today's game against Stoke makes that 14)different combinations of defenders this season due to the injuries we've suffered and it's probably the reason why our set piece defending was so woeful, now that injuries too the back line have subsided things have gotten a lot steadier.

Man Utd lost all of their defenders after they'd already built up a lot of momentum from winning games, Liverpool didn't have that luxury. Our confidence was already shot, and when you add in the injuries it makes it hard too turn things around. Especially when things just really aren't going your way.

Yes, and look how you struggled with your injuries. Yet when Liverpool fans moan about our injuries(And rightly so, we've had rotten luck) it is because we have no depth etc. Face it, with injuries you struggled just like us when we've had injuries.

Yea but the differance is you's had defenders. We had 1 defender in Evra.

To be fair ours were worse and we're still second so we can't have dealt with them that badly.:D

About the jealousy thing, if people were that jealous they would support United...

i understand tht your defence line up changing would effect you from set peices. but this has been a problem for a long time. and i dnt bielve zonal marking is the only problem. i think there must be something else to it then tht. is it the lack of shouting at the back? possibly not with carragher there. but there must be something else. not just zonal.

You could be jealous of a team and not switch support to them.:$

At times last season i was jealous of how well barcelona were playing but i didn't start supporting them.

lads on this one, i think i mite agree with lee. he is saying tht utd had to confidence to carry on through with momentum. not tht there where better or worse.

Mine wasn't directed to lee it was directed to bigal24 saying we hadn't done that badly.<)

i think jealousy brings hatred. which is where a lot of the Anti utd, campaigns came from.

Well, yeah, but I'm really not jealous of Man United, I'm from the London, so I'll support a team from London.

This is why i didn't think scott should say it. It annoys people and it's not like i could ever prove whether you are jealous of our success or not.<)

it alright ando. i will explain it properly to anyone who wants to hear it.

I didn't say you did badly, I was saying (Well tried to anyway) that you struggled, which obviously it was to be expected without god knows how many defenders you had. Eg results against Birmingham, Leeds, Fulham and Villa

people should be more like me & other county fans, we're jealous of everyone but stick with club through whatever. :)

I stick with my club, unless it goes bust (which it actually may do) and no longer exists...:p

Our defensive record from set pieces has actually been pretty impressive on the whole, apart a few teething problems when Rafa first joined and this season. It seems to be a misconception that it is bad, in Rafa's first two seasons we actually had the second best defensive record from set pieces (behind Chelsea) yet experts kept saying how bad we were doing at the time.

"If you repeat a lie long enough, it becomes truth." Springs too mind each time I hear the whole Zonal marking debate. Even this season the team with the best defensive record from set pieces uses a similar system too Liverpool, except they put players back on the line whereas we don't. Any ideas who it is?
Yup, Aston Villa.

I think this season though the constant changes to the backline have played some sort of part in how poor we have been at times, as well as the lack of height in our team.

Yeah that's exactly it, not trying too say any team has coped well with the situation or badly, just that the situations were completely different and can't really be compared.
