Final team talk

"Were taking the first steps towards getting back to the top of South African football. Go get some rest and we'll come back ready to fight for the title"

Premier Division
View attachment 444437

Our final position was a improvement but the gap to the points to me was a failure! Defeat to Sundowns in February ended our challenge and once we sifted out some weaker players the team really started to play some good stuff at the end of the season. Sundowns ran away with the title for the 3rd year in a row.

South African Cup Final
FC Cape Town 2-4 Kaizer Chiefs

We didn't bother with this. Tried to get along with the youth team and failed miserably

South African K'O Cup Final
Orlando Pirates 2-3 Sundowns

Most of the work was done before i stepped in and kept up my perfect loosing record in finals.

Tough start, hopefully things will pick up for you and some signings will become available to yourself over the coming season, let's hope it's a good one!

August

2 wins means a perfect start to the league
My young striker Nic Nkabane wins the Golden boot at the World U20 Cup and finishing runner up with the Golden ball
We only just hold of Sundowns in the 2nd leg but reach the Super 8's final against Kaizer Chiefs who reach the final after beating Ajax on penaltys

View attachment 442503View attachment 442502

We have our best team available. Only back ups Evandro and Nkabane are out of our 4th final in 5 seasons.
The Chiefs are also only missing a back up striker so come in at full strength too.

The Match
View attachment 442500

What a incredable result. Lead forward Kermit Erasmus made a statment with pressure from Nkabane for the starting position well not after this as he lead me to my 2nd trophy of my carear.

Wow, what a final result there a whopping win against the Kaizer Chiefs, congratulations bud! Look forwards to seeing more on this career soon :)

Great work, nice one on going top! Shame about the KO Cup, but that's arbitrary in comparison for a good league run! Good work!

Exactly. We have to win the league so giving up on the cups that interfere with important league matches

December & January

Only 1 match in December due to the early break so put the months together
3 Way fight at the top as we go into the last 10 games with Ajax just behind
Only disappointment were throwing away a win against Ajax then a poor draw at home to Supersport

The crazy match against Amazulu is my 100th match in management. Long way to go!

Chiefs form really falters but we still have a to play them and Sundowns in the League. Far from over there

Premier Division
View attachment 440626

We ended up winners on 72 points which is similar to Sundowns season last year. Top 5 were only separated by 11 points which is crazy consider how great a season i thought we had. Chippa Utd's player must have spent too much time a the chipper as they were utter rubbish

South African Cup Final
Orlando Pirates 6-1 Polokwane City
View attachment 440625

Played back up players till we won the league beating Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns along the way then our 1st team destroyed Polokwane

South African K'O Cup Final
Sundowns 5-2 SuperSport Utd
View attachment 440624

I gave this a miss! Back up side weren't up to it at this stage.

Super 8's Cup
Orlando Pirates 6-1 Kaizer chiefs
View attachment 440623

We ONLY win cups if we win it by 6-1! Again having to beat the best two sides in the league to win the cup

The winger was reborn this seasons. Involved in almost half of our league goals with either the assist or the goal itself

Top Scorer
Kermit Erasmus - 25

Scored less goals this term but was fitter for almost the whole season so had little competition this time

Last season Happy Jele really disappoint at Right back so i bring in one of the top South African prospects

Lebohang Manyama - ML
View attachment 440538
He is set to fight it out with Mashaba to start. Even if that doesn't work out he'll be my back up striker

Abel Mabaso - DC
View attachment 440537
As we sold Kone i needed a replacement so why not take my biggest rivals best defender off there hands!

Darko Tasevski - MC
View attachment 440536
Macedonian midfielder as the talent to make a real impact in our side

Gabriel Zakuani - DC
View attachment 440535
My final addition. Having spent over a decade in the English game Gabi wanted to return closer to home so i have opened the door. Now i hope he repays me

Junior Sibande was released then signed up again saving ?200 a week on wages.

Out

A few stand out players from last seasons team moves on. Lamine Kone my star center back left for Auxerre so he'll be a big miss. Despite failing out of favor with me Edwin Gymah also leaves after his contract expired and i cut my losses with Virgile Reset who was wasting a foreigner space.

1st team 2016
View attachment 440534
The squad is in a good place. Plenty of experienced players, some brilliant youngsters on the verges of the team. Im hoping the side can stay together and have a real go at the Champions League.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME

How hard is the African Champions League to win?
