I started as Sunday league rep and unemployed and got appointed Stockport manager in mid October when they were second bottom. Took them to within an inch of the playoffs by the end of the first season and am currently battling with Chester for first place in January of the second season. Thoroughly enjoying and am interested to see how far I can take them. Board chose to go full time during close season also which I think has helped!
 
Stockport...cos I'm from there! And my mate used to be their captain (Joe Connor)!
 
I actually had no interest in Stockport beforehand if I'm honest. Was the first job I was offered and seemed like one with potential. Huge club for the level and healthy finances. Board a bit stingy though...
 
Update. Finished 2nd season in 2nd place 1 point behind Chester. Only needed to win last game to come first and battered Matlock but their keeper had a blinder!
