Jesus man I couldn't come back to BSN-BSS even if threatened of death. Anyway, good luck man.

My thoughts too, once is enough. Speed on my game is not great either now, I have too many leagues active, and really no intention of leaving basingstoke

Eastbourne Boro fans are still unhappy with the appointment of Dave Barrett.
News in Boro fans are staging a massive boycott of their next home game. LOL

Yeah, cheers for that mate :P. Further news just in:

David Barrett has called a press conference:

"I have called this press conference because I have recently been informed by a reliable-ish source that the fans aren't happy with me and are planning to boycott the next home game. To those fans I am addressing. What is the point in doing that? Thats not exactly helpful is it? I have told the board I will avoid relegation and that is currently what we are doing. What more do you want from me? Perhaps I should sacrifice myself at the altar of the footballing Gods? Do you really think that would help? Well, I suppose I would no longer be at the club so I guess you would say I would've been successful. I just need some time to get things right. At least give me a little bit of time? Please? Please? I'll beg if I have to! I will get things right and then you will be ashamed of yourselves for doubting my considerable skill and expertise. Thankyou for your time"

But, you can go back and do things better. Having been through the experience before, you know where you went wrong and how to fix it. Or in my case, I know where I went wrong and rather than doing better I am doing worse oO)

second time round id load all players from reuinion, I did not no you could do that first tiem

Yeah, good idea. I did it the wrong way round. Loaded them up the first time did well. Didn't load them up the second time, doing ****. Go figureoO)

Keep the press conferences coming mate they are cracking me up.
Hope you turn the teams fortunes around and bag some silverware for the boro faithful.

Will do:D. I'm hoping I can bag some silverware. I managed it last time so I don't see why I can't this time

Update:

October:

Away (League) Weymouth 1-0 Eastbourne
Home (League) Eastbourne 1-0 Stevenage: Bingham
Home (League) Eastbourne 1-2 Kettering: Archibald.

That last home game was an embarassment and I told my players so. But, as per usual, they swore at me (a lot harsher this time and too harsh to print, although they made some references to my mother which is strange cos they don't know her!). Tactic upheaval again (I like to keep my players guessing!) and back to Clough's tactiscs with a few tweaks including: Higher tempo, counter attack, defenders more defensive. Hopefully, this will help but I fear my players have an inability to play football with most of them appearing quite bemused at the sight of this little round thing being kicked around the pitch. I also fear that the team have 1 combined brain cell among them so I may have to go out and use valuable funds to buy them some. Anyway, back to the results:

Away (League) Barrow 1-1 Eastbourne: Atkin. Much better performance although disappointed we couldn't win against 10 men.
Home (FA Cup 4th round Qualifying) Eastbourne 3-0 Soham: Barnard (2), Bingham. Holy ****. Despite being against a weaker team, I feared we would struggle but the lads finally turned up to a match. 61% possession, 24 shots, 5 on target
Away (League) Northwich 2-2 Eastbourne: Miller, Cormie. Do I sense an upturn in fortunes or are my players playing with my head by giving me false hope. I suspect the latter

Finally, some signs of encouragement, especially the Northwich game when we were down by 2-0 after 38 minutes (they had 2 shots on target). I brought the squirrels onto the touchline midway through the 2nd half, the lads noticed this and responded. A goal on 76 minutes and a goal on 89 minutes ensured a fabulous fightback and earned us a hardfought but well-earned point. It could be vital come the end of the season.

My Player Of The Month has to be Barnard, purely for his performance in the FA Cup tie. 2 Goals and a rating of 9.0 ensured he is now my favourite player.

Defensively we are not doing too badly as we are not conceding that many goals but as usual my attack is rather goal shy. Hopefully, as they adjust to the tactics again, they will turn possession into victories and then we can all go down the pub. I think from now on, I will bring the squirrels out to the touchline at the start of the match.

I dunno to be honest. I never do the press conferences any more. They get too boring and tedious

I agree, they are so boring and tedious getting asked the same questions over and over again. If you have an assistant manager with high motivation and man management he will do well in the team talks with the players usually reacting well to his comments.

My assistant manager has neither of those but I really can't be bothered with the conferences even if he ends up upsetting people.

Update:

November:

First of all, the Northwich game was on 1st Novemeber so should be really in this update but there we go. I'm a moron...what more can I say?
Away (CLC South 3rd Round) Salisbury 1-0 Eastbourne. We are back in the territory of not getting shots on target. Zero during this game.

After this performance, I called the lads in for a nice, friendly chat about the previous game. Once they had settled down, I switched the lights off and turned on the overhead projector that dated back to the 30s (we can't afford anything flashy). On the screen appeared a picture of some goalposts. "Do any of you have a clue what this is in this picture". They all replied "sure boss, its a goal". "Okay I said, you know what it is. So why the **** did you not recognise it during the previous match?". I won't publish their reply.

Away (FA Cup 1st Round) Cheshunt 0-1 Eastbourne: Archibald. Yes, 1 goal against a team god knows how many Leagues below us. At least they now know what a goal is cos they got 4 shots on target.
Home (League) Eastbourne 5-1 Woking: Archibald (2), Miller, Yankov, Barnard. This result shocked me. Outplayed, got 8 shots on target and scored 5. Could this be the turning point I was hoping for?
Home (League) Eastbourne 1-1 Salisbury: Barnard. Nope, not the turning point at all.
Away (League) Rushden 3-1 Eastbourne: Yankov. We scored after 4 minutes then it went downhill from that. They had 27 shots. Luckily only 7 on target or the losing margin would have been in double figures.
Away (FA Cup 2nd Round) Crewe 3-0 Eastbourne. The players didn't even bother turning up for this. In fact, I'm suspiciously certain that they sent cardboard cut outs of themselves and went down the pub (I mean, who would know, the cutouts ran as fast as they do)

A rather inauspicious month punctuated only by that fluke of a result against Woking, who played awful. 18th in the League isn't bad I guess but I had higher hopes. Unfortunately my players are happy that they are not propping up the table and above our rivals Lewes.

Tactically I am really struggling at the moment. I really have no idea what formation to use to get the best out of my players. A slow passing game doesn't work cos they can't pass, a quick game doesn't work cos they are slow, an attacking game doesn't work cos they can't pass or shoot and a defensive tactic doesn't work either cos they can't defend very well (the only reason we haven't conceded more goals is cos the other teams can't shoot either). I am currently considering putting all 11 players in goal and seeing what happens. I'm sure they would be happy with that cos it would mean not exerting themselves. Oh well, I was about to say, at least its fun but then I'd be lying.

You really need to choose your tactics and have the courage to stick it out win lose or draw,a team can take up to a season to gel into a tactic and be potent in it.Constant chopping and changing can be devastating to a team.

I guess you have a point there. I will now stick to the tactic I have now chosen even though my 2nd game on the tactic I was comprehensively detroyed 4-0 at home. Fun, fun days!:S

LOL just make sure the tactics you do choose are sound,a 4-0 defeat at home does not sound good.

Thats what I was trying to say. I have no idea what a sound tactic for these players is cos any tactic I play is gonna be ineffective because the players are so poor.

I heard the fans have written to the board asking for your sacking :p

Really? oh....in that case:

Hastily arranged press conference:

David Barrett, the Eastbourne Manager:

"I have called this press conference because there are rumours from certain sections saying that the fans have written to the Board asking them to sack me! I have spoken to the Chairman about this and he said that the board have recieved no such letter and, furthermore, they have complete faith in me to carry on at the club and pull us out of the slump we are in. So, I direct this to those people who are spreading scandulous lies and trying to destabilise the club: HaHa!!!!!! IT WILL NOT WORK. I AM IMMUNE TO YOUR DECEPTIONS. I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND THEN.......Be warned that this is now war and I will be victorious. I wish to thank the Board for their continued acceptance of me as the Boss and hope to repay their faith by actually winning a game in the second half of the season. And, to my players who seem unable to play for me, please pay attention: I will be still at this club next season. You however, will not unless you buck up your ideas and start playing. Thankyou all for your time"

lmao i'm with the fans. Back to the pub leagues Barrett :P

The aim is to stay up yes? I reckon if you can get that this year, even if you have to scrape through the season then you can improve next year

The aim is to stay up yeah but I don't think we are going to manage it. I have adjusted the tactics as they were playing awfully and moved one of the midfielders back to DMC and there has been improvement in the last few games. The problem is they cannot score goals. We are losing games by the odd goal and if they could actually score goals, then we would be getting draws instead of defeats. I have to say, its starting to get a bit tedious now. Play well, lose, no goals; play well, lose, score no goals :S

Update:

Well, its now February. I'm not gonna bother to post the results of the last 2 months cos I'm embarassed by them. Suffice to say my players are poor. At the rate we are going, we will be relegated to the BSS and, judging by how the players are playing, we will then get relegated from the BSS next season. I'll just plough on with no expectations and hope that the players remember they are footballers and not lumps of jelly. I'm seriously starting to think about the squirrels at the moment
