targetman/wide play help please

i assumed this was a thread about wide play and targetmen, not basic english and keyboard warrior type things.

cheers but id prefer to use the thread i started to sort out any more problems i have with playing a basic 4-4-2. the weird thing is ive won plenty of cups, just not playing the way i want. im convinced the game is trying to force narrow tactics onto people
 
I would suggest the following:

  • Increase his Mentality into Attacking, but a few clicks off the maximum. Maybe four or five.
  • Reduce his Creative Freedom, and make it a click off Little, or a couple of clicks into Little, depending on his Creativity, Decisions and Technique stats.
  • Reduce his Closing Down to a few clicks off the minimum for Own Area. Like for Mentality, three, four or five are good enough.
  • Make "Run From Deep" set to never.
  • Make his Wide Play, Normal.
  • Tick Roam From Position off.
 
cheers inickstuff. ive given most of that a go at various points with up and down results. although whenever i alter the mentality things always get a lot worse for me, ill admit i dont 100% get what si mean when they mention it changing the position, seems too many thngs in the tactics contradict other settings

So did I. Though when you check forum rules it says:
8. No 'txt' talk. Please check your spellings

And I understand, here is much people from different countries (like me, altough I understand English pretty well), so everyone just don't understand if the spelling is incorrect. It isn't too hard, or too much slower to write properly.

Well, tactics creator thinks target man as a player who brings others to play via flick ons, in that case you need quick poacher-like striker next to him, or holding up the ball, so not really player who is always heading the ball in. It may sound little weird, but I think that poacher role would suit him better, together with attacking mentality and wide play cut inside or normal. This way he is more in front of goal than with target man role. Also set him as primary target man and wingers crossing to target man.
 
ive been playig him lately as an advanced forward so that should get him i the box attacking the ball, ill give poacher a go, cheers
