Sky Road to Glory EP1 - Meeting the 21


Hello and welcome to episode 1 of this exciting new series where we track the ups and downs of 21 teens professional football careers. Without further ado, lets meet the first of our young hopefuls:

Andy Stewart

This young Scottish lad is hoping to do his country proud as he takes the Right Midfield/Right Attacking Midfield role in Team Sky, will he become the savior of Scottish football, or just another disappointment?

Andy Smith


Our second Andy, though this ones a bruising centre back from the East Midlands, hoping to make an impression and get a starting spot in the Black and Green.

Ashley Baldry

Ashley is a right back from Basingstoke who is proud to be part of the new series. A promising young lad, many hope he can be the answer to England's Right back problem.

Alex Lines

An Englishman from the midlands, Alex Lines is hoping to impress as he competes with Baldry for the Right Back position. Which one will manager Ian Wright see as the superior?

Connorio

This young Brazilian with the longest name known to man is hoping to dazzle and become one of the great Brazilian imports, and to avoid the fate of many young Brazilians who spend their whole career in the South American leagues.

Corey Taylor

This right midfielder is seen by many as the new David Beckham, but will he live up to the considerable hype around him?

Corey Watson

Watson will be playing in central midfield, next to his namesake on the right wing. Watson is hoping to be the midfield anchor, but will Mr. Wright see it that way?

Damien Worrall

This left back is hoping against hope to make an impression, and move away from the rugby obsessed environment of Warrington and into the world of football.

Daniel Oriyasin

This Turkish international comes to England with hopes of becoming Team Sky's premium striker and to launch a career in the reputable English game.

Danny Newton

A determined lad from the North East is to fill the Defensive Midfield role, a role he holds exclusively. Will this lack of competition breed contemplation or will it be the opportunity he needs to drive forward to greatness.

Grant "Eazy" Thame

A flamboyant and confident striker from the South of England, who insists everyone call him Eazy. Is this a cry to the women of Bristol, or is it implying that League 2 defenses will have little problem with him?

Hulk Hogan

This centre back shares the name of a famous wrestler (maybe his parents were particular admirers?) and fans of Team Sky will be hoping that the young player shares the physique and the talent for brawling that his wrestling counterpart held.

Jordan Kingston

This Irish Midfielder will be hoping to break into the competitive Irish squad with great performances in the English leagues.

Mark Fletcher

This left back from Manchester will be hoping to make enough of an impression so that he can make a move to the Sky Blues or the Red Devils of his home town.

Ryan Stewart

The second Irishman in the squad, this one plays up front, hopefully hooking up with with his compatriot to create a lethal midfield/striker partnership.

Shaun McMillan

This lad can play either for Spain (his home country) or Scotland, and he will hope he has the dazzling skill in centre back needed to break into the World Cup winning side.

Shirish Kayastha

Another foreigner, this time a lad from Canada. Preferring football to Ice Hockey and Curling, can this young Left Midfielder from a country not traditionally associated with football do the Maple Leaves proud?

Tim Downing

This Italian youngster will be hoping he inherits his countries flare for flamboyant and beautiful play, hoping to make an impression for Team Sky up front.

Tom Benjamin

This young central midfielder from bath will be hoping to break into the Team Sky midfield, despite the fierce competition from numerous players.

Keiran Booker

And last but not least, Keiran Booker, a striker from Sheffield. But will he have a character like the steel the city is so famous for or will he collapse, like the unfortunate demise of Sheffield Wednesday?

Jim Gerritson

Hailing from Dresden, Holland, Team Sky are hoping that this Left Midfielder can give league 2 a taste of Dutch "Total Football"

Well thats everyone and I'm sure you'll agree they are a talented bunch. Predicted only to finish 16th in League 2, we Believe they can do much better and in a few years, these will be the names of some of the greatest players in football. Thanks for watching (reading) and we'll see you next time as we ponder the fortunes of Teams Sky's first 3 months and also the performances and any trades of the 21 hopefuls. Bye!
