So if the title isn't obvious enough, I am indeed American. Since I started playing Football Manager 14 I've always thought about being the best manager, and when you think of the world's best managers, no American's come to mind. I'm looking to become the best manager in the world, and lead the US to multiple World Cup wins. Can it be accomplished? We'll see.

As you can see, I have a few busy weeks upcoming. I have four interview with clubs throughout Europe. Belgium, France, Portugal, and the Ukraine to be exact. I gotta start somewhere, and hopefully one of these clubs take a chance with me. Wish me luck, I'm heading to Belgium as I write this update.

Finding a home

Finally. I've found a place I can call home. For now. Hyde, a club in England's Vanarama Conference North liked my interview enough to give me the job. They are still in their preseason, so I have time to get to know the guys and staff. Coming in during the season just makes it more hard to get adjusted to everything. I'm able to install my tactics from the go and get it to gel during the preseason. I gotta run though. I'm a manager now. It's still settling in.

The preseason friendlies have come and gone. My first preseason friendly was against Glossop, the start of my administration reign. As you can see from the results, the preseason wasn't all that great. The results don't matter, as its about getting fit for the up coming season, getting the chemistry between the players up, and getting your tactics down. Our season opener is against Oxford City at home. Here's to an opening day win!

What an absolute start by the boys! First game out we smash Oxford City 3-nil at home. What a game for the home crowd! We'd when our next two games in dominating fashion. 10 goals while only 1 goal against in our first three games. Who couldn't of asked for a better start?

We saw our run of consecutive wins come to an end with a 1-1 draw against Colwyn Bay. We out shot them 15-3, had 55% possession, and they managed to get a point off a free kick in the 70th minute. But a point is a point, right? In our game against Bradford PA, we won thanks to an own goal. Hey, I'm not complaining. I'll take the 3 points! Our first loss was to Tamworth at home, unfortunately. Their goal in the 65th minute would seal the deal, giving us our first loss of the season.

Also, I must mention we've been picking up a few injuries here and there. I have to dip into the U21's to make a complete squad. So to have the success we had, I'm really happy. Here's to a good month, and hopefully an even better month!

Another solid month by the boys! Yeah, we started the month off against Gloucester, making it two straight losses, but we definitely rebounded later in the month. The game against Hednesford was a sea-saw battle. They were 1st in the table so it was to be expected. Thankfully, we managed to come out on top. After that, we rattled off two straight draws. Two points is better than no points! And to end the month, we thrashed Buxton at home in the FA Cup 2nd qualifying round. We should have the confidence going into October.

Players are coming back from injury, so hopefully we can keep our winning ways up. Its hard to make sure the boys stay injury free. With the lack of staff to prevent injuries, I really have to run them light in practice. That definitely hinders our ability to get better. But I rather have a full team of senior members than a team full of U21's. Its the sacrifice we must make to get things to work. I'll see you after October with another update!

Another solid month for the club! We started off the month with a 3-1 win away from Ewen Fields, only to come home and lose 3-1 to Chorley. After that, we beat King's Lynn as expected in the FA Cup 3rd qualifying round and beat Boston United 2-1 to pickup three more points in the league for the month. Going into the FA Cup 4th qualifying round against Barrow away, we were the underdogs, and we sure did play like it losing 3-nil. Very frustrating result indeed. Worse I've seen the boys play. However, we redeemed ourselves by beating league leader Worcester 3-nil at home, to end the month. A definite confidence booster for us going into November.

One loss, otherwise we would of had a perfect month! We did start the month of with a nil-nil draw against Solihull Moors, a game in which we were favored to win, we just couldn't find the back of the net in the end. We then rattled off two straight league wins, beating Harrogate 2-1, and Gainsborough 3-1. The match against Gainsborough is deceiving, because they got a penalty late making it 1-1, but the boys dug deep and we won 3-1.

And once again, Chorley beat us. This time it was a contest though, not a 3-1 loss. We were winning the match 2-1 until Chorley scored in the 65th minute via Dale Whitham. Okay, I'm fine with taking a point. Then in the 92nd minute, Darren Stephenson would score his second for Chorley, netting them all three points. Heartbreaking loss for the boys. They deserved a point.

To end the month, we thrashed Sutton Coldfield 4-nil away in the FA Trophy North 3rd qualifying round. A solid rebound from the match before, and a good way to end the month. So far, the boys have been playing better than expected. If we could finish top five, definitely a success. We just need to stay humble and concentrate. I'll catch up with you guys in the new year!

My only complaint is it doesn't look like you loaded the MLS or the just the players from the USA. So it'll probably make your future national teams less talented.

True. Never really thought of that. But leagues can be added right?

For the life of me, I have no idea how we lost 1-nil to North Ferriby at home, being the favorites, facing a team like 18th in the table. I don't get it! Besides that mishap, we had another great month. We did lose 5-4 in extra time to Altrincham in the FA Trophy North 1st round, but they're a Conference Premier league side. I was proud of the boys for staying in the game the whole time. Can't take away their effort.

Other than that, we picked up 12 points in the league! And man, can Steven Tames play or what? Back to back hat-tricks. Are you kidding me?! He's been amazing all season for us. And I'm trying to make sure he'll be back next season. We're ridding him all the way to the league title (hopefully)! All we have left are league games, and we're on a three game win streak. Lets build on this momentum boys and win the league! See you come February!

January Update

Our worst month by far. Very inconsistent results. I don't know if it was the lack of training, tactic mishap, or I said something wrong during a few games. I'll take the blame, I just didn't have the boys prepared for this month. A 2-2 draw against Stalybridge, a game we were up 2-nil in only to get a draw. We lost to Barrow again, unfortunately. We beat Solihull Moors on an own goal. 1-nil loss to Lowestoft who are in the bottom half of the table. Just not good results this month. Hopefully we can turn it around in February.

I should note, Steve Tames, who has 18 goals and 6 assists, will be out for the next 3-4 weeks with a twisted ankle. A huge loss for the club. He's been very important for us this season. Hopefully someone can pick up the scoring while he's out.
