Gael Clichy has completed his move to Man City

a quote from Gael Clichy in 2009: "I really believe if you are a player who thinks only about money then you could end up at Manchester City."

Arsenal's Gael Clichy advises top four players against temptation of Manchester City's riches - Telegraph

1. If the figure quoted by Sunil is true, then that obviously isn't his motivation.

2. Meh. Not like Arsenal wanted him to stay and he rejected us because we wouldn't give him 7K, they happened to have a bid accepted before anyone else (like liverpool) so he left. Best of luck to him - professional attitude, and a solid player for 8 years.

Waiting for Sunil's figure to be confirmed before making a comment regarding money.

STAT: When Ashley Cole left Arsenal, Gael Clichy had played 57 games for the club. To date, Kieran Gibbs has also played 57 times.

Good sign, if he can stay fit then maybe he can be as good as Clichy, if not better.

hope Wenger gives Gibbs a chance to show he's our new XI LB, but will insist buying baines or Enrique too.

and looks like chilchy might takeover Kolorovs place. ;)

Apparently Jose Enrique is Arsenal's top target to replace Gael Clichy, according to northbankblower.

Got Clichy right and called Gervinho on a 4 year deal weeks ago.

agreed. but which is cheaper. Enrigue or Baines.

both are good btw.

Enrique will be cheaper without doubt, but what is worrying me is that Newcastle will probably try and get a lot more than Enrique's worth. They managed to sell Carroll for £35m so I can't see why they won't try again (obviously not that much but probably around £12-£15m).

He's got solid contacts - one of the more reliable "ITKs". Hopefully we (Arsenal Report) will have a collaboration with him at some point - he gets exclusive interviews etc. as well and did one with Szczesny before the CC Final. Used to work at Sky Sports as well so he's trusted in the media circle ;)

He said a week or two ago that we were trying to finalise several deals; Enrique, Gervinho (done), Chamberlain and Jagielka as our top defensive target (also reported by the Guardian).

@LOL_101 - Enrique will be significantly cheaper. Pardew is already resigned to losing him, saying he wants to play CL football and it will be "very hard to keep him" in an interview on the BBC.

That was in January, though. Liverpool were panic-buying and it was deadline-day... Somehow think he wouldn't go for more than £10m.

True, but you never know. AW might not even go for Jose Enrique.

Jagielka ???

i thought it was either Cahill or Samba being close to done.

Blackburn are playing silly buggers with their asking price, Cahill's release clause is £17m - Jagielka between the two, but an excellent defender.
