typical wenger :(

Manager Arsene Wenger is also still searching for a midfield replacement for Fabregas, having ruled out Valencia's Juan Mata, but is said to be adamant he will not pay over the odds for players even though the £55m raised by the Fabregas and Nasri sales will be put at his disposal. (MailOnline)

Looks like it's gone cold

DON'T DO THIS TO ME!!"!!!ELEBEN

My one hope is that he's doing a SAF and bull-******** the media. He said "I don't have to tell you why" when he said we weren't signing Mata.. I wonder if he was saying "We can't sign him yet because we need cash from big sales" (Oh please God)

Maybe...unless he's found another player who he feels is just as good for a cheaper price, which may free up funds for additional players. Remains to be seen what happens

Like SAF, Wenger plays close to his chest. But if this is true, then its a big error.

TBF - even if it is true, we don't know the circumstances of the deal. These clauses are so ridiculous and misreported that I've lost all sense of truth/reliability. For all I know, Valencia could have told Arsenal they wouldn't sell for a penny less than £3 gazillion

The clauses have been so badly reported. He does have the standard spanish release clause of 25 million Euros (not applicable outside spain). I have no idea if anything else was written into it though, or if there was a timer on it that then led to an increased RC. But i would hope that the only reason he would leave it is that there is no deal possible at all

Arsenal and Newcastle charged with failing to control their players.

Barton gets away with it because the ref pretended to see what happened. ******.

Not sure why the clubs are charged. Wtf has it got to do with us if Barton and Gervinho wind each other up? Not like Wenger and the club have told Gervinho to slap him nor that they can do anything about it when it happens. The other players (er, bar Steven Taylor) tried to break it up.

This.
So on top of separate disciplinary actions against the individual players song and gervinho, the team will be fined for what exactly? And the fact barton gets away with what he did is ridiculous. It's physical assualt anywhere outside of the pitch, I believe something he has already done in the eyes of the law.

Why are the FA so inconfuckingsistent. They badger fifa and uefa over there rules and slip ups, when they are just as bad.

Ahhh....how I've missed these topics of discussion about the FA lol. Still got a massively long way to go in the season as well.

There's more chance of **** freezing over than the FA doing something consistent. Should know that by now. But they are consistent in one aspect. In being inconsistent.

We all know the FA is consistently inconsistent. Unfortunately, we can't do anything about it. :S

Until the changes come in as "encouraged" by the government

Then FIFA will most likely interfere. Like what happened with Iraq. Government interfered with the FA and they were subsequently banned for a couple of months from international football. It might be a blessing in disguise though, IF it happens.

I saw Gallaghers analysis about Gervinho on SSN, saying the press vilified Barton and let Song get away with it...Everyone has condemned Song but Barton's actions are more disgraceful and frankly out of order.

So Song should be banned for 3-4 games no doubt, but Gallagher then said that Gervinho shouldn't have raised his arms...But didn't mention Barton provoking him/having hold of his neck?

A bandwagon going around in support of Barton, Gerv/Song should be banned but Barton should get at least 5-7 game ban for 1) violent aggressive behaviour towards Gervinho (unprovoked), 2) Conning the referee blatantly.

I can't see how on earth Barton has gotten away with this, nor could I understand how he got away with punching Pedersen last season.

Disgrace to football, that guy makes me sick to my stomach.

Lille striker Moussa Sow has declared that he wants to leave the Ligue 1 champions for Arsene Wenger's Arsenal

The 25-year-old finished last season as the Ligue 1 top scorer with 25 goals and it is believed he wants to leave Lille after they refused to increase his wages.

After a fairly slow start to his career, the Senegal international burst into life when he joined Lille at the start of last season and now sees the Premier League as his ideal destination.

Sow told Canal Football Club radio: "I want to play at Arsenal, I think my game is best-suited to the Premier League.

"It is my dream and I want to be playing Champions League football."

Are you listening Arsene? Sign this boy !
