I'd say Torres, RvP, Rooney, maybe Tevez, are all better players than Eto'o. If you're talking about being a poacher, then again, I don't think we need one - Eto'o would be on massive wages. That's not Wenger's transfer policy failing, that's him not being worth it IMO.

Maybe Tevez? I hate to say it, but I rate Tevez over Torres and Rooney. Minus the bias, possibly over RVP too.

Eto'o: 37 goals in all competitions and 13 assists in a Inter that has been rubbish after Mourinho left, isnt that world class?

not denying he's a great player, I don't think he's what Arsenal need and I don't think he's value for money in the EPL.

You'd take it if he was announced tomorrow as a signing though, wouldn't you? :)

Also, someone sniffing around that can tap in that goal against the likes of stoke and Blackburn is what we need IMO.

None are better strikers than Eto'o. Few are more complete player than Eto'o but as a striker? No one.

Arguably he is the best striker of the decade along with Henry, David Villa..

It is not about whether Arsenal need him or ready to pay his wages, it is about how easily you are downplaying him as a player and his achievements of scoring close to 40 goals.

What do you mean by Value for money in the EPL? I know EPL is the best league, but sometimes you take it very far.. Eto'o has scored for run in La Liga, Serie A, for his National team. Quality players will prove in any league.

And if you talk about Value for Money, the only league where there is no value for money is EPL. You can see by the way money is thrown to sign half decent player when better players move for much less than that in other leagues..

You starting attacking Wenger's transfer policy for my personal views - so it is about whether we need him if you're talking about Wenger's failed policy.

who this??? any good??

while Bologna have offered them stopper Emiliano Viviano. (the Times)

Lol, no I'm not attacking Wenger's policy. I was amused when you think 30 year old is passed his best player when players do hit their peak at around that time..

Anyways I didn't say He is what you need, just saying he is the best striker in the world. (David Villa included but not Messi and Ronaldo as I dont know in which position I should consider them)..

CESC FABREGAS last night insisted he will not force a dream move to Barcelona.

The Arsenal skipper, 24, is a long-term target for his boyhood club Barca.
But Fabregas said: "Ever since I was 11 I have dreamt of playing for Barca. Whether it happens or not I don't know.
"I don't have to come out in every Press conference to say I want to join Barca. Who would I fool at this stage over what my dream is?"
Fabregas, a long-term target for his boyhood club Barca, has been left disillusioned by Arsenal's six-year trophy drought.
The Spanish star, 24, has won only an FA Cup since joining the Gunners at 16 from Barca's youth academy.
Arsenal were chasing a Quadruple but suffered a spectacular slump following their Carling Cup defeat by Birmingham.
And the Gunners captain admitted: "I'm frustrated at not winning titles. We always fall just before reaching the gates.
"If one day I leave Arsenal, today, tomorrow, in five years or never, I'll say so the day it happens, never before. I won't lack respect for the club that has given me so much."

Calum!!

You're a day late lol.

(And stop reading The Sun ;))

Been reading that Gervinho will be announced tomorrow. 8.8M up-front, rising up to around 11M depending on performance related bonuses.

---------- Post added at 12:54 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:16 AM ----------

Statistics over the previous two years:

Hazard: 66+(9) apps, 18 assists, 12 goals

Gervinho: 61+((6) apps, 14 assists, 28 goals

Speaks for itself.

I wouldn't trust a word that comes out of his or his fathers mouth.

Unless it's 'I'm/Nicklas is leaving Arsenal'.

Sunil - that source looks ridiculously fake. Really doubt all three will go - and he's hardly a "big gun" as the article suggests.

------

So a little summary of our fixtures via @JamieDalton82

- First 3: Newcastle A, Liverpool H, Manchester United A
- Then Swansea H, Blackburn A, Bolton H
- Arsenal away to West Brom on the last day of the season.
- Arsenal vs Spurs: 1st Oct A, Feb 25 H
- Boxing Day sees Arsenal at home to Wolves.
- Only 3 games in the Dreaded November for Arsenal: West Brom H, Norwich A, Fulham H
- Arsenal's last 7 or "The Run In" - Man City H, Wolves A, Wigan H, Chelsea H, Stoke A, Norwich H, West Brom A

Don't mind that tbh - good that we have the big games at home for the most part in the 2nd half of the season. Great 3 games after the opening 3... Glad we're getting the big ones out of the way early tbh; hopefully we can get one over Utd and co. and open up an early PL lead at the top!

Brilliant (if saddening) tweet from LadyArse:

"There is no truth to the rumour that Arsenal have asked the Premier League to restrict Arsenal's first game of the season to 45 minutes"

A fairly **** run home, City, Chelsea and Stoke all very tough games. And Wolves and West Brom away are probably not guaranteed 3-pointers either.

I don't know... We've seen we can beat Chelsea (I think us not beating them for so long was partly a mental thing), Stoke A will be tricky, I'd expect us to win at Molineux - difficult team to play, but we do have a good record against them for the most part, and Norwich H (not to under-estimate them, but y'know), Wigan H should be easy, it always is! WBA A will be tricky, I'd be disappointed if we dropped points there though TBH.

Joss, even I didn't trust it. Just posted the rumor.

Even if Bendtner said that, I wont believe his words though.. ;)

Yeah, that's fine. Just giving my thoughts!

According to an Ivorian newspaper Gervinho is done and will cost 8 billion CFA Francs. All transfers should be reported in that currency.
