^ lol. Firstly, Gervinho isn't dragging out personal terms - the deal is all but done. BBC's David Ornstein and Young Guns Blog both suggest it's simply a matter of the website staff getting off their arses and doing the PR + waiting for the main window to open, whereas other sources say that a deal is still being arranged with Lille. Asking price is €15m, we're paying more like €13m. Seydoux said:

"We know that Gervinho has a personal interest in joining Arsenal... We have maintained contact but still the Londoners have not presented us with a formal offer. Negotiations are ongoing but Gervinho has demanded a solution to the situation soon."

Secondly, Mata story is BS. I think there's a hint in that only The Sun and Daily Mail are reporting this, with the latter claiming an exclusive (= false most of the time). Wenger likes him, but was put off a few months back by the asking price. €20M (= roughly £18m) is his release clause, but Juve, Inter, Real and Barcelona at the head of the queue according to Sport.es...

(EDIT) AS report that the clause doesn't apply to non-English clubs and they haven't received an offer.

Thirdly, Wenger rates Walcott. He's had his best season in an Arsenal shirt and is clearly getting better. Interest in Gervinho and Chamberlain doesn't signal end for Walcott at all.

Fourthly, Wellington Silva is getting a chance in pre-season. He could go on loan to Levante (although, despite new manager, I doubt he's keen after his last experience). The Levante story is about 2 weeks old, but as usual the tabloids may have re-circulated it because they have nothing else to talk about. Pedro will go on loan - probably to Levante because they now have the same manager as Pedro had at Cartagena.

Ryo won't stay at Arsenal next season. He was withdrawn from all of the Japan NT squads (Snr., U21, U20) for some reason and now the only question is whether he'll go on loan to Feyenoord or somewhere else. Arsenal want a fee this time, though and Feyenoord now claim they have other options for his position. Anderlecht is a possibility with Arsenal forming some sort of partnership with them a month or two ago.

And Botelho, not Motelho ;)

OH and via Young Guns (among others), Away kit is official:

Couple of points on that 'interpretation' before I go...
As for Wellington Silva I'm pretty sure he STILL has no work permit and Arsenal are the ones pushing the loan move of him and...Botelho (I did say probable mispell) to Levante so that is almost a given especially with their development

I said that the Gervinho deal is 90 pct done but the personal terms are not agreed and the fee we are talking about is around 16 million euros which is around 13-14 million pounds so its more pricier than you reported. The clubs have agreed deal terms, none of my reporting comes from tabloids it comes from the opposite of that to be fair and when you have the SOURCE of the story that the Daily Mail ran with as an exclusive yesterday the actual source was local Valencia news agencies reporting that a bid had been made so that isn't a tabloid rumour I think there is alot of truth to it. And Walcott's position at Arsenal isn't assured I mean he has barely progressed in the past 18 months at all injuries and all I suppose but Gervinho+Mata tells you that the wing area is going to be changed around quite a bit if those both come through.
I would just say to you wait and see on the latter points but the Gervinho deal I believe is being held up by the agent and neither club, the only thing stopping him being officially transferred is his signature and a medical and the paperwork of an official bid to go through so its pretty minimal I suppose but we both agree its 90 pct done..

It does look a nice top now that it's been released, probably give it a miss as it's my least favourite away kit in years. Might buy it if it's our 3rd next year at a cut price ^^)

EDIT: Loving the colour scheme though, think the navy shorts are well smart.

Daily Mirror, once again, having a giraffe.

Arsenal transfer news Cesc Fabregas could join Barcelona by weekend after being left out of promotional photos for new kit launching this week - News - MirrorFootball.co.uk

EDIT: This stuff about being left out of promotional photos is slightly worrying but found it hilarious that someone apparently said any improvement on last week's £27m bid should be accepted.

Don't be silly. It's not remotely worrying - I've not seen all the pictures but apparently RvP has been left out too. Young Guns said it's just a bunch of promising youngsters with Wilshere leading the charge... Good to see Szczesny seems to have nailed down the #1 spot, though. Unless we sign someone else... He's been in both photo-shoots (Think Cesc was in the Home shirt promotions, along with RvP)

Yeah I really like it now too. Those first pictures did it no justice lol

BARCELONA want Cesc Fabregas to go on strike next week to force a cut-price move from Arsenal.

The Gunners face a nail-biting wait to see if their skipper turns up for the first day of pre-season training a week today.
Barcelona have had a £27million bid turned down and are unlikely to meet Arsenal's £40m valuation.
If Fabregas refuses to join up with his team-mates, it will put Arsenal under enormous pressure to finally sell to the Catalan giants.
Although sources close to Fabregas say he has no intention of forcing an acrimonious exit from North London, it is clear that is precisely what Barca expect him to do.
But such a move could backfire spectacularly if Arsenal hold firm.
It will also shatter the image of loyalty Cesc has tried to cultivate despite publicly admitting he dreams of returning home to Barca.
Arsenal insist they will let go of their talismanic captain only if Barcelona meet their demands.
But Barca's £27m bid was instantly dismissed by chief executive Ivan Gazidis.
The cash-strapped European champions are doing everything they can to get Arsenal to accept a cut-price switch for their wantaway skipper.
Barca have already seen their £30m move for Udinese's Alexis Sanchez stall because Manchester City have offered the Italian outfit more money.
Boss Pep Guardiola is keen to land Fabregas but Barca president Sandro Rosell is adamant they will not break the bank for their ex-youth player.
Barca midfielder Sergio Busquets said: "Every year it's the same. This year he seems to be getting closer. I wish this year is the definitive one and we can have Cesc by our side."

Skint clubs cant buy our Captain Fantastic for half-price. Pay our valuation or you cant have him.

Fabregas himself should be offended by Barca's valuation. I've said this before when they offered £35m last season, and it's even truer now. Why even bother offering £27m? They know Arsenal aren't going to accept anything less than £40 at a push, and more likely £45m. If we sell him this window for £45m, I won't be too disappointed tbh - although Barca's cuntish-ness should really make us hike the price up. Would love for Cesc to stay one more year and win something with us - partly because he'd be less inclined to leave and partly because he deserves a trophy with us.

Not sure if this has been noted, but Remi Garde has taken over as Lyon manager from Claude Puel
Former Arsenal midfielder Rémi Garde appointed coach of Lyon | Football | guardian.co.uk

Yeah don't think we'd mentioned it :)

Good luck to him - I'd love for Bergkamp to come to Arsenal as a manager at some point in the future...Providing he does well enough with Ajax as *** Man. of course. He'd be perfect - Experienced, and knowledge of Youth Development..

If Fab goes, this would be pretty good:

-------------RVP

------Mata-------Nasri

----------Wilshere

-------Vidal-----Song

Clichy---TV--Cahill---Sagna

----------Sczcesny

Although a quality direct replacement for Fab would be better.

Sell him for 45M, that's near enough the 3 Signings covered.. :/

A transfer of Cesc won't be finalized until after thorough medical tests, with Barcelona worried about the player's many injuries. [marca]

Perry Groves (ex-Arsenal): "We've had Cesc for eight years. We got him for nothing. We're going to sell him for £35million." [talksport]

No way Barca are going to offer more than 40m in my opinion, I suggest Arsenal take the 35-40m offer thats going to come their way and set about using that money to buy a direct replacement as buying 3-5 squad players wont really help boost the morale that will surely be done if Cesc leaves

Not aimed at you, Sunil, but what the ****?

Perry Groves knows **** all tbh, and secondly: LOL. He's not been having a medical because we haven't accepted an offer. He's ON HOLIDAY. Some papers will just spin anything and everything they can. Gets so tedious... But again: Blatantly Barca's PR men spreading ****.

I know that was some ****. Many thought Barcastuff posts all reliable news when all he/she does is copy paste all the news related to Barca from every paper and post it..

And I didn't post another tweet where Ex Arsenal player said Fabregas is not Arsenal great..

What? Why would we sell Fabregas for significantly less than he's worth if we're concerned about morale? If they don't offer the asking price, we shouldn't and won't (IMO) accept. It would be humiliating for the club to just give in that easily after all this time.

And what exactly is this valuation... I have been hearing the price 40m being said time and time again so is'nt that what I mentioned... around 35-40m

Name a direct replacement for Cesc for 35-40M.

someone like Pastore or Hamsik would be good, unproven in the PL but atleast they would be better than nothing and they can be availiable for that kind of money as Palermo are cash-strapped and I am sure Hamsik will want to play in the PL one day.. obviously you will have to fight off interest from potentially Man Utd

You can easily build your team around Nasri and Wilshere too (K)(K)
