I'll eat my hair if we end up selling both Nasri and Fabregas. Also heard the rumours that we missed out on Ricardo Alvarez over a 1.7M pounds stand-off.

He has not signed yet but i expect him to sign in the coming days. Seems much more likely than the Sanchez deal.
This seems more like a deal that has presented itself in a short time.

Maybe, but Ade is already 1 feet out of the door and will not play for City anymore. And Kolo is pretty much a finished first-teamer. Clichy is the only Arsenal player who have a important and long-term future at Eastlands. Same with Nasri if he signs.

Also to add to the point, Lampard wanted to leave and Drogba said "He wants to leave Chelsea" when Jose was sacked. That didn't make them any bigger than the club.. So I really dont see the point you are trying to make..
I never remember Lampard saying he wantd out but never mind. Drogba wanted out because of the manager at the time which we changed and he was a happy chap again. Chelsea arnt afraid to change things (maybe abit too soon sometimes) but Arsenal dont. Drogba was more unhappy with the manager than the club in general.
Same thing Jacko.. Fabregas never made any statements about him leaving. He has showed lot of respect for Arsenal and Wenger. Compare that to other players who wanted out..
I would say Ade though he was bigger than club and was shown door in no time. But same is not true with Fabregas..
And Lampard wanted out and was very close to joining Inter, but bumper offer made him to stay. And also Drogba always made fuss about his future after every season.. Somehow he stayed at the club.. Going by your logic Chelsea would have shown door to Drogba the moment he made "I want to leave Chelsea" comment. He was not happy with LFS. After Jose Grant took over, then LFS took ovwe underwhom Drogba underperformed and it was Hiddink's introduction that again Changed the player. So that is close to one and half season..
Hmm. Slightly worrying that - I mean, I'm not sure how good he is anyway, and he's very raw apparently, so would take a while to set in but it does demonstrate a lack of ruthlessness in transfers. Call Wenger stubborn or this, that, and the other but really it should never have got up to £12m. The original deal was meant to be about £2m for a player who was supposed to be a squad player (and replacement for Rosicky) more than anything else but we let it drag on for some reason, playing silly buggers with the price and that allowed teams like Malaga, Roma, Inter and co. to become interested and so the hype around him meant Velez upped the asking price.
I still think we probably dodged a bullet, but if we have a target, get them. Don't **** about hoping the price will go down and weighing up other options. Same has been done with Gervinho - Marseille, PSG and City all becae interested, but luckily we got him in the end.
What about the whole "my heart lies with Barca" thing then. He and Barca have been flirting for years. Not once did Lampard come out and say "i want to leave Chelsea", considering your options and saying you want out are 2 completely different things. And Drogba said different things every other week, one week he was happy and the next he wasent. It always seeemed to be to the nationals he wanted out but exclusivly to ChelseaTV that he wants to stay.
Fabregas said many times that he is happy at Arsenal. And I have never seen that "My heart lies with Barca" quote. Can you post it here..
So Drogba can say "He wants out" and stay as he again said he wants to stay but you are ignoring Fabregas interview in which he said he wouldn't push for transfer and it is left for Wenger as they have already had a conversation about his future...
Oh it was well known that Lampard wanted to Join Inter when Jose was the manager. Only bigger contract made him to stay.
Hleb, Adebayor, Toure, Gallas, [Nasri]* have all made public statements about their desire to leave Arsenal. What did we do? Sold them on.
I'd say we gave any other player wanting out a pretty big warning; don't go public (Fabregas hasn't, Henry never did) and think twice about it. How many of those players have gone on to be successful elsewhere? Toure was awful, Adebayor was treated pretty badly, Hleb went off to warm the bench, Gallas had a fairly inconsistent season.
Tevez goes public, what do City do? Chase him around the blocks trying to make him stay.
What I'm trying to say is that I think there's a difference between thinking you're bigger than the club, and going public to try and force through a transfer or get a significant pay-rise (whether that be because you don't like the manager, the tactics, your team-mates, whatever) and wanting to go back to your boyhood club/best side in the world, but without making a fuss and simply getting on with being a professional as Cesc has done throughout, as Clichy did, and as Henry did.
There's also a difference between being FORCED to stay, and being PERSUADED to stay. Wenger had a talk with Fabregas, told him what his plans were, etc. - you could say that Cesc has every right to feel let down by Wenger having not won anything once again - the Spanish papers certainly think that, calling Wenger a "traitor" for not selling his captain and one of the best midfielders in the world for a paltry £27m. Does Cesc say anything? No. Does he hand in a transfer request? No. Skip training? No.
Fabregas respects Wenger, and respects Arsenal. It's not about being bigger than the club, it's about wanting to go back to his boyhood club and Wenger respects that, but will try to persuade Cesc once again to stay. If Cesc still says (privately) "I want out", he will be sold at the proper price.

What? When did he say that? He's not once said he wants to leave Arsenal - the only reasonably controversial quote he said was that if he ever leaves Arsenal, he would like to go to Barca. I think you're confusing Cesc's quotes with what Xavi, Iniesta, Pique, Messi, Busquets and Puyol all said "on his behalf".
And LOL. Of course he said he wanted to stay to Chelsea TV. Can you imagine the uproar if he said to Chelsea TV: "I'm not happy with the manager, I want to leave Chelsea". It would be a PR disaster.

While it has been previously speculated that Lampard would demand a move, the twist in the tale is the claim that he has received legal advice about the possibility of walking out of Stamford Bridge this summer. According to The Independent, Lampard has been told by his lawyers that 'it would be impossible for the club to hold him to the final year of his contract. It would then be up to Chelsea to try to recoup compensation for him from football's world governing body, Fifa. In what has turned into a bitter dispute over his future, Lampard's lawyers have investigated whether he should invoke the so-called "Webster Clause" - Article 17 of Fifa's rules - which effectively allows certain players to unilaterally terminate their contract with their present club.'
The Guardian also reports that Lampard has investigated the option of invoking the Webster clause, although it also points out that 'Under Article 17 of Fifa's regulations for the status and transfer of players, a player who signed a contract before the age of 28 is entitled to buy himself out of the contract three years after the deal was signed.
'Lampard is currently in that "unprotected" period though, technically, he should have served notice of any desire to leave Chelsea within 15 days of the final league game of last season. I've never seen him play, just going by what others say. Jonathan Wilson said it was a pretty ridiculous price to pay and claimed the original deal was worth about £2m but the hype allowed Velez to up their asking price.
Very odd, though - reports came out last week that we both had offers accepted, and on twitter Alvarez (account confirmed as real by team-mates and journalists) said it would be his "dream" to play for Arsenal and he was "hoping to God he would be able to" so everyone naturally assumed Arsenal had a deal in place and then someone said Zanetti and the Argentinian contingent at Inter persuaded him to go there... But then it came out that we were playing silly buggers with the fee and wouldn't go above about £10m (could be less, I'm really confused!).
