Oh and while I'm on this thread, I may as well just leave this here:

Discussing:

- How we played without Cesc and why Rosicky and Ramsey don't work together...
- A case for the defence - why Koscielny and Vermaelen negate the need to panic-buy before midnight of August 31.
- Some positives to take from it, but most of all - perspective is needed.

Newcastle 0-0 Arsenal: Gervinho red has little impact on stalemate | Arsenal Report

******* glad that boring Saga is over. Now go and sign Jags, Willian and Mata and put in the genuine title challenge I've been relishing

Oh god, not the Jagielka situation. That saga is getting pretty long now aswell lol

Sad to see fabregas really leaving us, but for sure that Wenger now has really some money to spend! And hopefully he will use it this time wisely (not buying another youngster)...

But unfortunetly, nobody can replace cecs (yeah nasri but he is probably leaving as well)...

Haha sorry mate, but he's clearly the best fit for Arsenal

Without doubt tbh-be perfect for them-absolute rock. I do actually feel sorry for Wenger though recently. He's had his critics about transfer policy and what not, but it's so obvious that this whole Nasri-Cesc situation has got to him. He looks absolutely...bewildered.

I feel for him, but its been coming. Tough as it was for Cesc, inevitably the lack of proper trophy tilt probably tipped the scales.

He has two weeks to turn a bad situation into a very good one

Shame to see him go, but don't blame him. Heard some fans saying he's a disgrace and they've lost respect for him. Don't understand that. He's behaved well and not stirred anything up.

Wenger needs to get a replacement quickly.

Pretty much. Though I can't tell right now wether or not it's last chance saloon. Hopefully that won't happen. Have a lot of admiration for what he's done for the club. There's a lot of very sensible Gunners fans out there and realistic, but pessimism and unrest can spread like wildfire very rapidly. But I think he'll unearth a real diamond or get in some quality. There's still time. But then again, there's also the flop risk aswell.

Finally some good news, hopefully the sale of Fabregas will mean we can hang onto Eboue, otherwise our season is over. It's only September but I can definitively say that without Eboue Arsenal will not get CL football this season despite doing so for the last 12 years, and despite the only constant during that time being Wenger. Sack him now.

Everyones overreacting so much, yes Cesc is a great player and I'm sad he's leaving but he's averaged less than 25 league games for the last 3 seasons and the Fabregas era has hardly been a good one. Onward and upward, Wilshere and Ramsey now get a huge chance to shine and there's some dosh to splosh.

Overmars, Henry, Viera, Bergkamp, they've all left yet year after year Wenger delivers, he's the only constant, so don't lose faith because two good players want to go another team's bench.

Life goes on, look at United, they replaced Ronaldo with Valencia but now look all the better for it. Cream always rises blah blah blah...

Arsene knows best so stop playing armchair manager and get behind him, everything will be fine...unless Manu goes...then we're screwed.

Now some news on Nasri please, either resign or gtfo.

I fear he could be in last chance saloon, which would be utterly uttlery foolhardy, but like you say pessimism spreads so quickly. Shearer was bang on (usually i ignore him) Wenger has to speng (fairly) big AND spend well, and that is a big ask.

He must MUST sign Mata, and a CB. thats minimum if Arsenal actually want to improve

why does everyone love eboue? a good personality doesnt mean your a good footballer or cant be sold :S

You ARE joking about Eboue right? RIGHT?

Awaiting the improved bid from Arsenal by the looks of it:

Well - he MUST sign a CB, and MUST replace Cesc/Nasri, but SHOULD sign Mata. Plenty of others out there if we don't sign him, I'm sure - even if he is the best candidate. Apart from anything else, these boring sagas have held us back from doing proper business this summer.

Yep, just thought I'd join in with everyone else and declare the sale of one player the end of the world despite 12 successive seasons of CL football.

Keen to see how Alex and Aaron get on this season now. Is Vela going out on loan official?

Thank god.

Vela - not yet, I think he was in talks with R. Sociedad last I read...

Alex - Oxlade-Chamberlain? Jamie Sanderson (Young Guns) said he would probably only play around 10-15 games in total this season. I personally think he's better than Walcott was at his age - more developed, a better crosser (admittedly not difficult) and better with the ball at his feet.

Shared some thoughts on how he might fare, and how we can get the best out of him there ;)

Eboue is a complete LAD, how can you not want him at your club?

I would love him at Newcastle, just for the lols.

Not many readily available candidates out there who will improve the side, not just put it back to where it was

Guardiola: "Cesc is a much better player thanks to Arsene Wenger"

Although I should respect him for that, I can't help but feel he's still treating this as if they deliberately let him go to Arsenal on what they saw as a long-term development loan. After all their club has said, I really cannot appreciate a word they say.

Rossell confirms the details of the deal - overall it's €39M, with only €29m coming straight away. Overall, that's £34m. LESS than they offered last season.

******* disgrace tbh. I have no idea why we did a deal for less than we asked for.

Love it. Xavi's/Puyol's/Pique's/half of Spain's comments and blatant tapping up over the last two years will just make Ramsey knocking them out of the CL this year that much sweeter.
