Would like to see Arteta at Arsenal, but way to injury prone to consider.
Samba...pacy? Mertesacker is international standard, there's no doubt about that.If marin is for sale that is an absolute Joke, turning into a develop players and then sell them club.
Arsenal have pace at the back, I think mertesackers height and strength would be an asset for arsenal, If he played with someone pacier (E.g Djourou or a signing like samba), I think he'd be a good buy although I hope they dont sign him.
Stoke aren't the only team in the Premier League, you know.Whats wrong with that, would stop arsenal being bullied by stoke and other sides.
Agreed, Hernandez would rip them apart with his pace, skill, positioning and finishing. But to be honest, it's very hard to stop him so I wouldn't be too disappointed if I (as in if I were Mertesacker or Samba) couldn't.On the other hand, it would be utterly hilarious watching Mertesacker and Samba attempt to stop players like Hernandez.
1) Samba is pacy yes.Samba...pacy? Mertesacker is international standard, there's no doubt about that.
But there's a difference between being international standard and being an Arsenal player (not saying one is superior to the other) as Wenger likes to hand pick his players - young, fairly cheap, good passer, right 'mentality', etc.
However, I don't think Mertesacker fits into the categories and he will stay at Bremen or move elsewhere. He would be brilliant against Stoke, but another set-back (apart from his lack of mobility and pace) would be his price, which would be quite high I imagine.
Stoke aren't the only team in the Premier League, you know.
It's only 6 points (I know every point counts) there's no point in splashing out in a player who isn't that useful against other teams in pursuit of only 6 points.

Anyway, what do Arsenal fans feel about Fabregas' transfer to Barca - for 5 years? Indifferent? Sad? Happy for the money/player who didn't want to stay? Betrayed?
I personally would be gutted to lose a player of his calibre but they have many other top players to step up, who are young as well - Wilshere, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lansbury and many others to come.
1) Samba is pacy yes.
2) That is why I said and other sides.
Thunderlolz. Samba's about as "pacey" as.. well... It's late and I'm all out of wit but he's not very quick OK?

Also, I know I only posted this an hour or so ago but no one's told me what they think yet. Do it.
Ashburton Grove - Arsenal news and Arsenal opinion: Based on his Newcastle performance is Gervinho Arsenal quality?
he is fairly quick in all fairness
Well he's not as slow as Mertesacker, but I'd hardly call him "pacey".
skimmed through it Joss, seems a good read
Not quite up to your usual standards of The Sun I take it![]()
pwned, although im sure you put it on the other threadWait wait wait, was my post about Arsenal-Liverpool deleted?
pwned, although im sure you put it on the other thread
lol at least the sun isn't boring to read![]()
I disagree with the first one and slightly with the second - I don't think he'll do too well against some sides like Chelsea and United, if they decide to play to his weaknesses. Oh yeah, and he can't really pass...1) Samba is pacy yes.
2) That is why I said and other sides.
To be fair, he stays deep, but I doubt he has pace as you can normally tell if a player does. And my bad, didn't know he had been dropped although he is a top player I think. You never get to see him run since blackburn stay so deep. And we wouldn't be relying on samba for his pace, the sma eway united don't rely on vidic for his pace, and chelsea for terry's. He's a leader at the back, and intimidates the **** out of opposition players, something we've been missing since Campbell, Keown, and even winterburn.
I take that back about winterburn.
And Mertesacker wouldn't be too expensive actually, he's be cheaper then jags for sure. And to say mertesacker is international standard is a bit wrong. I'd say he's just below it. In the germany squad he's been replaced by the likes of hummels, howedes, and even boateng. Germany's set up isn;t the same as most international teams, they look for specific qualitys for each role, not just the "the best of the best" like england do.
Mertesacker and a high defensive line... We're supposed to be trying to improve are defence not have the most comical one.

Hi Samir let me first introduce you to myself I was born in 77 as a Gooner, I didn't have much choice in the team I support my Dad brainwashed me and I thank him for that. I have always worked since I left School at 16. The majority of my wages was spent on Arsenal one week I spent all my wages on just one game in Paris (which we lost) it cost me £99 that was the wages I was on at 17. There was no luxury jet no inflight movie or meal. Instead a coach trip.
The reason why I go that far back is it is relavent to my letter to you, I am now 33 sadly due to an injury I can no longer do the trade I used to. I slipped
my disc making lifting and my mobility difficult. I am no longer in employment not out of choice but my condition. I get state hand outs and I'm not proud of
it but after 16 years of working I think I am entitled to it. I spend a lot of the money I get still on Arsenal, I follow the club everywhere I can.
At the end of the game cheering on the team what do I get in return a wave from the centre circle as you trodge off the pitch. Do myself and the thousands of fans who follow you everywhere deserve something you seem to think we are lacking RESPECT. We spend loads of money our season tickets are the most expensive in the league. We go without because of love of Arsenal. I'm sorry if you think £110,000 a week is not enough to support you and your family maybe you should take some cuts, shop at Lidls for example
You cry at the lack of respect the fans have shown you, how about the lack of respect you have shown Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, your team mates and most importantly the fans.I think you are amazing football but I question you as a person. When you open your wage slip do you first look at your wages ir the badge of the amazing club you play for?
I am awaiting your reply I can't see you making one as your no doubt are so hard up you cant afford broadband you can message me on Twitter use your mobile phone unless your phone has been cut off because of the poor wages Arsenal are paying you
