402-1. Beautiful, just beautiful. (H)

It is isn't it...

i just keep thinking how F***ING annoying it is that were in the last day :@

although i think with the character we have shown, this is giving us great hopes for the other tests coming up, if there were any doubters after the first innings i hope they are getting rather full on all those words that their eating!

Not a huge cricket fan but I don't mind it and have been dipping in and out of this from time to time. Had a feeling we wouldn't do well as England always seem to be hyped up for every sport and it never does any good!

Australia have given up on the game basically since England started batting again.

Poor catching, poor bowling....I don't see us winning the series.

500+ for only the loss of a wicket is a class innings against any team, well done Cook, Trott, Strauss

All this Bollinger talk, ye he isn't a bad bowler, he would give something different for the Aussies,

but when you lot are watching the Ashes do you listen XD he is only just coming back from injury which is why he wasn't considered.

Absolutely epic day! I lasted until 5:30 but couldn't go any more, tonight i will be attempting the same :)

COME ON ENGLAND!
Do you actually do any back ground research on your own players, he was told by the selectors not to play for his state side and to do net works, as they didnt want him over doing it before this test, then they dont play him. So he was sold a little bit short by the Selectors.

What a great test match. Either side could of won it, england let australia get away at 150-4 on day 2. whilst Australia didnt take any wickets in that 16 over spell to england late on day 3. and cant catch, Bring on the rest of the series.

You sure about that? I was really disappointed with this test. First innings was really good. But second innings just took life out of the game. England would have batted for 10 days if they were allowed. TBH, it was poor game. England should have taken the advantage when Aussies were 5 down for just 140, from then on it was nightmare for bowlers from both sides.

It had most things, an Ashes Hattrick, An stunning england fightback, plenty of brilliant shots. Just because the last day and a half was a bit of an anti climax, we shouldnt take away how competitive it was, and the brilliant innings played by Cook, Trott, Strauss and Ponting for that matter.

Only thing I want to know is why we never really accelarated. Once Cook and Trott got there 100 and 200 respectively, why not step on it and give some entertainment, give us more time to bowl at them? Just never had much intent despite ace innings by each.

Boring pitch though, flat as ****.

Yes it had everything but was very anti climax for my liking. To add to the brilliant innings list, Hussey and Haddin. They took game away from England, otherwise England would have gone for a kill.

I was just expecting Ashes if 2005. Each and every game was so tight, it was unbelievable.

Just a recap. I loved that series.

Aussies comprehensive victory,
England winning by 2 runs after excellent partnership between Warne, Lee, and kasprowicz
England Chasing modest 120 plus but losing 7 wickets and somehow winning it.
Ponting playing great innings to save the test.
KP playing great innings to save the test and winning series.

Lee mocking Flintoff, Flintoff with his acrobatic celebrations.

It was never going to be like that though, these are flat aussie wickets, i expect another test similar to this at least.

kinda like asking Man Utd to attack when they are leadin 1-0 against Chelsea and are in the final ten minutes of the game, they are not going to provide entertainment mate

Cricket is a serious business :)

Cookie can have my babies! Great innings by him and AS, now Trott to get a ton tomorrow, with cook reaching 250. ;)

Just thought I would post this again. Close to getting that spot on haha!

Can't wait till thursday, atleast I now get 3 nights of sleep! woop!

Not at all, we had 9 wickets in hand? What damage could have been done, other than humiliating the Ozzies even more.

how about the wicket was so flat, the aussie could of gone at 8-10 an over easily, we didnt need to take the risk after being so close to losing the test at one stage.

mate teams can collapse as easily as a pack of cards, u would know if u are one of he more avid watchers of cricket which I do not know if u are, why take the risk, why risk being 1-0 down at all

he played a great innings mate truly, batting for a whole day against a Team like Australia is no mean feat, not even sure if Scott can do that :)

That was indeed an impressive prediction. On the other hand...

That's it, test match over.

I'll be very surprised if this isn't over by an innings tonight/tomorrow morning.

Paha. :P

Agreed. Considering England's history of collapses, to risk it would be insane.

Risk?? Am I being misunderstood or something. 200 runs ahead with 9 wickets in hand?! All I am saying is at no-point to we try get a few extra overs at them by going for it. Even if Trott and Cook got out, Pietersen come in smash a quick 30, and we can have 10 extra overs at them....

I have no idea what your talking about, at no point last night where we EVER going to lose that game.

we played very well, not that I watched any of the live action, I watched ITV4's crappy highlights package, haven't seen last night's play yet either :S

Can't wait for the next test, Forza England!

I based what i said on what beefy and the like said on TV about Bollinger, nothing else, so if i got it wrong they did... not surprising really <)

i don't understand about the background on your own players remark, considering Im English...
