Clarke as Captain, then a younger batsmen.

I suppose the quicker they do something along those lines, the quicker they can rebuild themselves a stronger unit team wise, by bringing in a few more of these younger guys.

Because at the moment, especially in Australia terms, its embarrassing...

He's only got another Well done CHRIS!!! bye bye Clarke :)

Another wicket, Crucial time too, Just as it seemed they were getting some flow! Get in.

It just cant be switched off!!

How long do we think the big hitter, nervous looking Smith will last?

my bet isn't long...

I dunno, maybe he'll surprise us all, I think he's a walking wicket however.

Tremlett u ******* beauty, btw I doubt Australia will replace Ponters, he is by far their best batsmen till date and the best Captian they ever had, Clarke is just not ready yet

He is most certainly not the best captain they've ever had, and he clearly isn't their best batsman anymore. Hussey takes that prize as he is showing once more.

He was a great Batsman, now he isn't and on the captain side, he always has been a mediocre captain, just had great bowlers to get him out of any situation... now he hasn't got them, he looks in trouble.

Mate he is their best batsmen, Hussey is great but he can never reach the heights Ponters has done, Ok he maybe be a decent Captian but his win record has been awesome, 3 World Cups in a row says so

He has been struggling for form this year thats all, every batsmen even Sachin Tendulkar has their bad runs of form but if I had to choose between an on-form Ponters and an on-form Hussey for my Test Side, I will go for Ponters hands down

I could skipper a team with Warne, Gilchrist, McGrath, Lee, Hayden, and Langer in it.

Now that Punter is dealing with average players, it's shows what an average captain he is. Some of his field placings have been questionable to say the least.

And as for their best batsman to date. 99.94 Gretest Batsman of all time...?

Ok I admit on the captiancy side he may be just average but still he was skippered his team to 2 World Cups in a row so that says something'

btw Don Bradman and Poiting were born in different ages so its unfair to compare them like how people dont compare Sachin Tendulkar and Don Bradman, it says so much for the evolution of the game, in Bradmans time there were no ODI's or T20s nor where there such congested Cricket Calenders, they ysed to go to England play and come back, then after a month England used to go to Australia play and come back

If I faced the same 2-3 teams every year, I'm sure I could get a 90 average

Check out Don's first class average. ;)

Really? You reckon if you faced McGrath, Warne, lee and Gillespie all the time, you would average 90 plus? Or any batsmen would? When he won the world cups, he has the best players in the world, now he doesn't it showed, he really could of tried some innovation against us in that first test, instead he looked out of ideas.

we were talking about Don Bradman Scotty not Ponters ;)

You said, it would be easy to score 90+ against the same team, if you played them every couple of months, i asked the question. DO you reckon it would be done if you had to Face McGrath, Lee, Warne and Gillespie every 2 months, cause i don't any batters alive today would, but Bradman did the exact same things.

First-Class?

So ur trying to say that First-Class Cricket is as challenging as International Cricket or just because his average in First-Class Cricket is awesome, that makes him the best batsmen Australia ever had?

I reckon the batsmen today will never reach his International Average cos they plkay so much cricket against so many different teams not like the 20-30 Don bradman played in a cycle in his life, I doubt Bradman if born in this age would have had a 90 average in International Cricket, u just cant compare these cricketers cos they were born in different ages, just like how u cant compare Maradona and Messi's achievements, so Ponters is definetly their most talented batsmen, over 30 ODI and Test Centuries says that

Thats like saying, You cant called someone like Maradona Argentina's best ever player because he wasn't playing now, or Saying Pele isn't that good, cause he did it 35years ago... Makes no sense

I was joking about the 90 average Scotty, I just said it was unfair to compare Pointing and Bradman as Jake had done as they played in different ages in which cricket had been in different states and there were different challenges, just as how people dont compare Sachin Tendulkar and Don Bradman :@

Neither did I say that, what I meant is that Don Bradman was superb in his age and Pointing is superb in this age of cricket, there should be no relation between then in terms of batting records
