I was joking about the 90 average Scotty, I just said it was unfair to compare Pointing and Bradman as Jake had done as they played in different ages in which cricket had been in different states and there were different challenges, just as how people dont compare Sachin Tendulkar and Don Bradman :@

You dont make that Comparison as, Don wins hands down.

Youn win hands down ;)

In all seriousness though, we should leave this debate here as we appear to be going nowehere, can we just focus on watching England kick some Aussie ***

Kev Scorah, Dubai, TMS inbox: "[Re: Ben, Disgruntled Aussie] Seeing Nursery Rhymes do need to rhyme, how about 'Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat, can Cricket Australia find an Aussie who can bat?' "

Bradman was the greatest batter of all time, anyone who says any differant is completely braindead look at his average's.

Saying it was a differant era downplaying his achievements makes me laugh too, the bodyline tests etc where batter's were the aim for bowlers not just the stumps made the game even more dangerous than today even though the bowlers werent so pacey.

Comparing Maradona and Messi is dreadful too, Maradona may have been great but he was on coke half the time !

i love the cricket, but unless we can bowl really well (australia) we're screwed and i dont think ill watch the next test. lets hope the poms bat like they did against victoria.

i also like ricky ponting but he isn't a great captain.
an average captain + an great bowling attack = results
an average captain + an average bowling attack = a strugle.
its easier to set a field to good bowlers than setting a field for average bowlers. mind you, strauss isn't that good either.

Pmsl at what just happened. Jimmy Anderson and Mitchell Johnson exchange 'words'. Sky just replayed it and Johnson is heard to say on the stump mic "Why are you chirping now mate, when you dont have many wickets?"

Very next ball Jimmy bowls Ryan Harris.

Mitchell Johnson - instead of having words with Jimmy Anderson, why not concentrate on your own game? You are the single most over rated cricketer of the last few years. If you were half the player that Jimmy is, Australia wouldn't be in such a mess.

Don > Any other batsman in history.

lol u talk as if u have watched him play,

Did I downplay his achievements, not really, I just said it was unfair to compoare him to Ricky Pointing, also did u know that we have such a congested fixture list that cricketers hardly have time for a break and they have to adapt quickly to different mentalities to play Tests, ODI's and T20s and u think thats a piece of cake do u trying to adjust urself so quickly, plus cricket has never been so popular so the pressure on these players must be enormous, Hussey has a better average than Tendulkar, would u say he is the better batsmen definetly not, its definetly not fair tgo compare Bradman to Ponters as we dont know if Bradman would have dealt with the problems in this era just as effectively as he did in his own era

Couldn't hack pulling an all-nighter, but what a day. Tremlett is a god, Colly is a God, everyone's a God.

That said... I'm beginning to get tired of this. I kinda wish the Aussies would put up more of a fight?

same here, never really put pressur eon us while we batted

watched the play today, Colly's catch was unbelivable, England look amazing :)

I managed to stay up until half 4, couldn't hack it anymore, just watched the hour highlights on Skysports,

Australia recovered somewhat, with the only two batsman in their team with any presence this series doing the business once again!

And without the tails contribution it would have been a shocking score... but with Siddle Johnson and Hilfenhaus turning up somewhat it looks credible.

Fair play to Johnson, under massive criticism, does something more than look pretty for once,

thought that confrontation with Jimmy was hilarious!! all the words then knocking Harris's wicket from the ground and turning round saying basically "what was that mate" lol Brilliant!!

Jimmy = Legend!

Managed to stay up till about 6.

Feeling it now.

From what generation? you've got a right mix in there with Pollock, Mcgrath etc? So I could say Wasim Akram depending on what era you're going for...

If they were to play a match tomorrow.
Yeah i dunno, tough you seem to have got most International bowlers in there, so I would lean towards county bowlers, otherwise your missing some West Indians as you said, Tino Best maybe, Fidel Edwards, none of which are very good. So probs Brett Lee good shout, but I don't know what he's bowling like atm.

EDIT: You're also missing Shaun Tait who is lethal when fit.
