Its a set of several version so yes, you will need all these

2.control, 3 attack home, 3 attack away etc
Have a look in the opening post where its explained what each and every version does.
 
thanks mate, and im guessing attack home is when your the favourite or have the better team, thats what im using in pre season, im in the prem with derby county so should i mainly be using counter? i have a good team as im on the free agent db, i have the likes of otamendi, sakho, zamora, malbranque, damien duff and so on so forth

Looking at those players, I would say that, if they are the best at the club, you still are a heavy underdog. I would probably use the more defensive versions
 
well you should see what the other teams have, other than maybe the top 8, most teams dont do much, ill post my 1st result in a minute, ill give them a season alright mate?

I would probably still go for the more cautious versions. Maybe start your home matches against equal opposition with 4.Attack away and Balanced when on the road. Against inferior teams Attack Home or even control at home and Attack away when on the road
Against better teams I would use Defensive both home and away, at least as a start. Use counter only when its they are playing headlessly against you, attacking with a high d-line etc

Wow... Might have to try these tactics if I begin a game with a lower side than my current Arsenal game, looks like you got great results, well done.

i've tried your last tactic 4132WIDE but i can't choose the good one for each match ... especially when i play away ( yet i've read your instruction very well :))

No problem. Present me with a specif scenario, providing as much information as possible and also try to put some of your reasoning on how you think you should pick a version for that match

these are the screenshots of a match against lyon
i've started with control during 15 min then i've changed to attack away and i score.Then lyon attacked much more and they score two times. I think i should turn to counter no ? :)
 
When facing this formation, I always remove the target man option as he will have a hard time finding space, the 2 DMCs being all over him.

Control would perhaps not have been my starting version as this is to beak down very defensive teams. Counter would have worked great if their fullbacks bombed forward but otherwise Defensive would have been my choice ( when 1-0 up that i, not 1-2 down)
 
isnt there a 442 without a target man? i remember using ur tactics with a 442 with no target man on 2009 and worked awesome
 
These sets have been updated into the first post

The tweaks that have been made is to be a workaround so that lesser bad angles on-one-ones are produced. I find that using a single FC in free role ( but without moving into channels) and wingforwards helps in this

Also notice that the version Attack away has been removed from all sets for 10.2


442 Target man

The FCleft is a strong poacher and the MCright the more creative midfielder
This is mostly for underdogs/middle teams

442 No Target Man

The FCleft should be a poacher of great calibre and the FCright a more creative FC ( or a AMC/FC)
The wingers should be top class with both speed and the ability to find space and make good crosses
The MCright is the creative attacking one and the left is a hardworking DMC/MC

4411

Basically the same as in the 442 No Tm but this time with a AMC instead of the FCright

4141

A very defensive set as a default. The FC should be a more or less complete player since he is all alone up there
The MCright and MCleft should be attacking minded players and the DMC a hardworking one


41221

An approach that really needs wide players that have the stamina. The FC is a poacher and the AMR, L are, well wingforwards. THe MCright should be able to get inside the box ( ppms perhaps). The MCleft is a box-to-box and the DMC is hardworking

42121

Almost like the set above but with a more defensive formation by default. Here, we use 2 DMCs and the right one is a creative DMC. All other players are the same as in the tactic above.

Wide 4132 Target Man

This set is just like the 442 TM but with the hardworking midfielder dropped into DMC position

Wide 4132 NO TM

Again, this set is based on the 442, this time the one for better teams.


Narrow 4132

Alsmot like the set above but here using MCs instead of wingers. Best used if having players as MCr and MCl that have "wingerstats". This formation also mean that the fullbacks needs to be slightly "better" in their defensive positioning and crossing ability


4231

The Classic wide 4231 using wingforwards, a AMC of choice and a creative MCr and a hardworking MCleft. The FC is a poacher, preferably strong and with aerial ability as most wingers and AMCs lacks of it

Deep 4231

Almost like the set above but with a more cautious formation, more suitable for underdogs and middle/teams ( or if playing with a domestic top 3-5 side in Europe)


Wide 4321

A very attacking formation that I only suggests for topnotch teams. The FC needs to be complete and the DMC and DCs are the only defensive specialists

DMC/MC Box

Used when having fllbakcs up for the job and when the squad is full of competent DMCs and MCs

DMC/AMC

Here we use one of the AMCs or the MCright as a playmaker. The FCs swapp positions and they need to be alsmot complete. The amcs also swap
 
so 442 with target man is better than 442 no TM for mid table teams? im actually playing with QPR and started with the wide diamond tactic with no TM but its not going pretty well.. was planning on switching to 442, should i go for TM or no TM?
btw im using 10.1

For 10.1, I would use the 442 TM or the Narrow 4132 TM ( the ones for 10.1 not 10.2)
 
The 3rd season, we made it. Used mostly the 42121 and the 4411 sets

First post update with a 4231 set for topteams


The FC should be complete
The AMC also
The wingers should be complete wingforwards
The MCright should be creative and with movement
The MCleft should be hardworking and with great passing ability
The Full Backs should be modern fullbacks
The DCs should be, well, top level players

AS you can see, this set really IS for top teams

This set can also be used as a framework for most formations

- 442 - Move the AMC into FC and drop back the AMR+L into MR+L
- 4411 Move back the wingers, just lke above
-41221 - Move the AMC into DMC and use him as a playmaker

and so on...
 
Forth season, mainly using the new 4231 but fininshed the season with the more narrow 4231( Link)
