The Black and Whites
Elgin City Football Club (also known as City or The Black and Whites) are a part-time senior professional football club based in Elgin, Moray. They currently compete in the Scottish Professional Football League, League 2.
The club were formed in 1893 due to the amalgamation of two clubs from Moray. The club's first honour came in 1898 when they became the first club outside Inverness to win the North of Scotland Cup; however, they failed after that to record any success except the Elgin District Cup until 1924 when they again won the North of Scotland Cup. Since then they have won honours with relative frequency.
Elgin City have played at Borough Briggs since 1921 when it replaced Cooper Park. The ground currently has a capacity of 4,520 (478 seated).
This is my challenge. Make Elgin City the greatest football team of all time
Targets for the save
- Gain promotion from Scottish League 2 - page 3
- Gain promotion from Scottish League 1
- Win Scottish League Challenge Cup
- Gain promotion from Scottish Championship
- Qualify for Europe
- Win the SPL
- Win the Scottish League Cup
- Win the Scottish Cup
- Become Scottish manager
- Win the EUROs
- Win the World Cup
- Become top of the Hall of Fame
- Have a stadium named after me
So, with a short list of targets to aim for, I set off on my journey as former semi-professional footballer Ian Allan, former Elgin City defender, who quite modestly nicknamed himself The Great One.
