The Blue side of Manchester left in turmoil..

This is a great concept and story to read. I can't believe no one bought Aguero and you had to release him, absolutely crazy. I can't believe the form you team are showing, especially beating Real Madrid in the Champions League... good luck with this be interesting to see how you do.

Cheers mate, I am glad to see people are enjoying the read.

You and me both, it was because he was asking for over £300k a month.. which is why I was even more annoyed when he signed a contract for 120k a week!

I have had some fantastic results, although October hasn't been as good so far, I will be updating tonight.

October

View attachment 306339

As I expected for the month October it was a bit of a strange month for results, we managed some great results in European and Domestic competitions but struggled in the league. I think now the lack of attacking options are starting to show, we are dominating opposition with a strong defence and centre midfield and having plenty of chances, we just aren't taking them. Definitely going to need to recruit a new forward somehow in the window.

Burnley Vs Man City

View attachment 306338

This result originally hurt a lot but then I see that Burnley have won 5 on the bounce including a good result at Arsenal. Usual story here, controlling the game, a MoM performance from Mangala before he limped off, high possession and quick turn over of play, but yet again our finishing let us down, this game should have been sown up by half time. Never thought I would say it but we missed Bent.

Man City Vs Swansea

View attachment 306319

This was a bit of a lucky result, given the lack of flair with Hahn, Milner, Sinclair and Acosta all too unfit to play, I had to resort to dirty tactics, as you can clearly see from the amount of cards shown. Iheanacho was a pre-agreed transfer before I took over, He is a good young talent and he got his first goal on his debut. We won dirty but its a win at the end of the day.

Man City Vs Sporting

View attachment 306315

This game was a walk in the park, Sporting Lisbon didn't even turn up. Easy result with a rotated squad and 9 points out of 9 in the Champions League, I think mathematically 2 points and we are through.

Hull Vs Man City

View attachment 306310

As the result suggested this was a bore draw, the team is really starting to look jaded. Defence is ever strong though, another clean sheet, Nastasic and Mangala have formed a great understanding for a young pair and Hart is solid, glad I didn't let him go during the exodus, I accepted a bid from Athletico at one point!

Man City Vs Tottenham
Capital One 4th Round

View attachment 306298

I sent out a completely rotated side, with the exception of Mangala, Sinclair and Acosta and we bossed it, 69% possession, Tottenham had 4 attempts 1 on target and I never worried about this result. Debut's for 3 seventeen year old lads, 2 in defence and we controlled their team. Chelsea in the next round (who just beat Palace 9-0). Also I thought it was worth a mention that before the game Dzeko had 12 goals in 8 games.. not tonight your not Edin!

So here is how the league and CL look going into November:

View attachment 306293
View attachment 306289

Player of the Month:

Eliaquim Mangala

View attachment 306290

It was a hard choice with Nastasic winning Barclays Young Player of the Month, but to be honest I think Mangala has been better, 2 MoM awards (taking CL into account) and he really has been impressive. To be honest with 4 clean sheets in a row it could have been anyone of the defence.

So that rounds up the month, as I said, bit of a funny one with some good wins but only 4 points out of a possible 9 in the league and I cant see us having a much better month in November looking at the fixtures.

View attachment 306287
For reason obvious to all, Manchester derby at home is a must win! I am going to set my ambitions high and say that I want 9 points in the league this month, only because the pressure will be on to perform well in the league, despite our financial problems, the powers that be still want the earth. I am going to take a risk and rotate my squad for both Champions League games, hopefully a win at Sporting and I can field 11 kids and it will not matter, I just want to get through so 2nd will do me.

So I was going to do my usual and update at the end of the month and then this happened..
View attachment 306285
That's right 4....1...

View attachment 306284

So I set up here with an attacking formation, I had rested my players in the previous Capital One Cup game against Tottenham to give myself the best chance in this match and boy did it pay off. Most of the 1st half was tight, end to end stuff with our defence once again controlling their attack, Mangala ever present in his beast mode. Bent gave us the lead with a poachers finish just before the break which enabled me to really inspire the team to win this for the fans. Second half was completely different, we had attack after attack and not long after the break Fernandinho scored a screamer. Against the run of play Falcao got one back and for a second I thought it would be one of those days, but no, just inside 60' minutes Mangala knocks the ball long over the top for Darren Bent, he runs through, takes the ball wide and I am thinking 'I have no qualms in letting you rot in the reserves my friend', he almost makes it to the corner flag before he turns, places the ball on a sixpence for Fernandinho to burst in the box and head it past De Gea. From then on we was taunting them, I brought on 3 youngsters to give key players a rest before Zabaleta got injured and we had to play with 10 men for the last 10.
Result in the bag and bragging points until next time!!

November Continued..

View attachment 306014

I have to be happy with Novembers results, despite the small hiccup in the Champions League against Sporting Lisbon we have still guaranteed a 1st place qualification through the group stages with the win against Roma. With superb results against Man Utd and Chelsea, I will forgive the loss to Everton and Goodison Park.

Sporting Vs Man City

View attachment 306013

I picked a rotated side here, with Man United the game before and Chelsea the match after, I had to rest players. In truth we deserved to lose and when Bent missed the chance to equalise, I knew this was not going to be our day.

Chelsea Vs Man City

View attachment 306006

Yet another perfect result, even before the sending off we were all over Chelsea, Remy's goal was against the run of play. This result never looked in danger, I don't know how we are doing it be we just keep on beating the big teams. Bent again on the score sheet was really pleasing!

Man City Vs Newcastle

View attachment 306003

So today we had the unpredictable Toon Army at home, they are something of a bogey team of mine usually, easy enough result though and they didn't really trouble us until their consolation goal.

Man City Vs Roma

View attachment 306001

A good win and I clinched our qualification to the 2nd round. I set up much more counter attacking with this game and it got us 3 goals in the 1st half. I set up back to a more controlling style of play in the 2nd half and things changed drastically. One thing that was of note as well was that it was yet another late goal conceded in a match that was already dead and buried, setting up a tense finish, we need to snap out of this sharpish.

Everton Vs Man City

View attachment 305998
This result really got to me, we had ample amount of chances to run riot against a tame looking Everton side, Bent missed a bundle of chances. A week penalty given away by Zabaleta sealed the game for the Toffees in the end in what was a very frustrating afternoon.

So here is how the league and CL look going into December:

View attachment 305995View attachment 305996

Player of the Month:

Scott Sinclair

View attachment 305993
Has to be Scott Sinclair this month with some amazing performances that earned him the Barclays Player of the Month award, 3 goals and 4 assists and the Leagues joint top scorer with 8 goals, an honour that he currently shares with none other than Darren Bent himself!!

As I said looking back at the month I really cant help but be very happy, some brilliant results including a win over the rivals both geographical and league, CL second round qualification and some brilliant individual performances from Sinclair, Mangala and finally Acosta, really stepped up this month.

View attachment 305988

So thats how next month is going to shape up, a long December leading up to the next Transfer Window, any suggestions for a cheap LB and decent cheap striker for me to look out for?? All suggestions welcome!

December

Despite the one result that really crushed our morale and then the consequential battering that came at Madrid, we recovered quickly, picked our self up and ran riot again and completed what was an almost perfect month. I got a 2nd place in Manager of the Month, Adama Traore got Young Player of the Month and Bent continues to be the top scorer in the league. As this is such a long month and I have a lot of updates, I am just going to breeze through some of the results.

View attachment 305769

Man City 3 Aston Villa 1
Traore (55) Stevens (og) (68) Sinclair (80) - Delph (31)

Arsenal Vs Man City

View attachment 305761
This match hurt, possession was exactly 50/50, they did have a few more shots than us but not many, the main difference was Sanchez, he is exactly the kind of play we miss in a game like this, we need a game changer again, although to be fair this is the first game we have lost against the other top premiership teams since the 1st loss against Liverpool.

Real Madrid 4 Man City 0
Benzema (13) Bale (43) Ronaldo (62, pen 78)

Man City 1 Leicester0
Sinclair (13)

Man City Vs Chelsea

View attachment 305760

This was a match between two teams who had priorities else where, we both fielded much weekend sides and on the day we just happened to be the team that came out on top, don't get me wrong I am ecstatic about the result because it means we are another step closer to silverware, but it did't feel deserved as it was basically a reserve game.

West Ham 1 Man City 4
Noble (77) - Bent (23,44,53,60)

Man City 2 Stoke 1
Sinclair (19) Traore (62) - Arnautovic (47)

Crystal Palace 1 Man City 2
Zaha (63) - Acosta (37) Bent (90)

So we are now half way through the campaign and we are still in every competition, so as you can imagine I am very happy so far, this is how all competitions look going into the New Year, as well as a few other stats and News pieces

Player of the Month:

Scott Sinclair

View attachment 305750
Another fantastic month for the young English winger, he has really blossomed since his run in the first team and it has also given him the opportunity to represent England in the last few months. Good goals, more assists and general good ratings!

So here we are halfway and I really never thought I would be in such a good position, still a lot to work to do on financials in the new year since as it stands we will still fail on Fair Play Regulations in the Champions League. There may be another big name out in January and further basement bargain players in.

I really would appreciate any feed back on what you think of my season so far, anything I can do to improve my team? signings? or just what I could do different with my write up.. Cheers!

Really good mate, who are your top paid players now?

I'd try and get Hummam Tariq though, under half a million and can become world class!

Bit of an update.. my pathetic excuse for a laptop decided to balls up last night and I am back at the Chelsea Capital one game so my results may now change.. what's the bet I lose every game!

January

January is always a pivotal month in the season but never more so than this season for Manchester City Football Club. Fitness is a big concern at the moment with the games coming thick and fast. A mixed bag with results, one result in particular is very disappointing. Another big month so yet again I am going to just briefly go over most of the results.

Webster (74) - Iheanacho (12) Ntcham (53) Sinclair (82)

Sunderland 0 Man City 2

Man City Vs Liverpool

This was a big game, we really needed a good result here with Liverpool being top of the table and winning for fun, mainly down to the main man Sergio Aguero. Needless to say the game did not go our way and it was mainly down to one man..

View attachment 305038
I have to say that the score does not show a true representation of the match but the MoM Sergio Aguero ripped us apart on the counter attack. Bent and Sinclair showing again they are our only outlet for goals and our defence was appalling. We just didn't show enough all round the park for me and this showed the gulf in class now.

Man City 2 Swansea 0
Capital One Cup Semi-Final Leg 1

Sinclair (40,90+1) Mangala sent off (76) Fernandinho sent off (89)

Before I show the League standings I will give an overview of Man City's and the rest of the main transfer action in the League..

View attachment 305026

Notable Transfers IN

Martin Odegaard
£1 Million

Much publicised young wonderkid, as many people are aware this 16 year old has bundles of potential but given our rotation in this transitional season he will be involved in the first team. One to watch!

Miroslav Klose
£1.6 Million

Another signing to just offer us a bit of experience, obviously at the age of 36 this is not one for much past this season but I need someone with composure and this guy is still pure class at finding the net.

Notable Transfer OUT

Andre Hahn
£15 Million

Hahn had actually started to settle and had been performing really well the past 10 games or so but we are still strapped for cash and when Athetico offered 15 Mil I couldn't turn it down. We also have a 20% sell on clause in the deal.

Top Transfers in England.

View attachment 305019

Player of the Month:

Scott Sinclair

View attachment 305017
Another top month from Sinclair, continuing his rich vain of goal scoring form and providing assists. Really is a pivotal member of the 1st team and the first name on the team sheet week in week out.

I played through to the end of February and I forgot to copy the league table back in January. I will be writing up Feb shortly and will show League standings etc then..

February

After a difficult January with the FA Cup exit and poor results against two sides in the top 6 in Liverpool and Tottenham, we was really looking for a much more positive month. I played around with our tactics a little bit and tried to offer a more defensive approach this month, more than anything to try and grind out some much needed wins.

View attachment 305006

West Brom Vs Man City

View attachment 305005

This match was won before half time, so much for a defensive approach. Had I have known we would have 2 penalties I would have liked Klose to have taken taken them to help him settle but none the less, the ever impressive Sinclair netted both, Just what we needed.

Southampton Vs Man City

View attachment 305004

Going into this game Southampton were firm favourites, bookies making them 3/4 to win but we gave a great account of ourselves, I had to leave some big names out, Bent, Fernandinho and Mangala were all injured and many other players were jaded. We had 56% possession and many more shots, had Klose been 100% match fit this may have been a different score.

Man City Vs Burnley

View attachment 305003
This was a nice easy training match really, a crazy 72% possession with 27 shots, 10 on target. Acosta really showed his potential with a match rating of 9.6 and of course the MoM award. Only negative was that both Bent and Klose were poor.

Schalke Vs Man City

View attachment 304990
This was a great result to set us up nicely for the return leg at the Etihad. Klose finally gets on the score sheet which was nice to see. I feel my new tactics are really starting to set in, our possession is much greater in each game and giving us a good base. Also Acosta got another MoM award, really starting to look a class act.

Man City Vs Swansea

View attachment 304986
To say this match flattered us would be an understatement, maybe we have just got used knowing how to beat Swansea now, that's 4 wins out of 4 this season. Most pleasing thing about this game was the MoM winner, you guessed it, it was Acosta again with a crazy 4 assists, something tells me I am going to struggle to hold on to him for next season if I don't make top 4.

This is how the League looks after January and February..

View attachment 304985

Player of the Month:

Luciano Acosta

View attachment 304984
This was a no brainer, a monthly average performance of 9/10, a goal and 6 assists. As I have previously mentioned this guy is sharply becoming the real deal!

Much better month this month and I think the team is slightly more balanced, we are still in the top 4, the Capital One Cup and doing well in the Champions League, things are looking good.
We have a really important month coming up in March with massive game coming up next, followed by an exact replica match up with arguably just as much riding on it..

Wish me luck..

Breaking News: Man City in takeover bid!!
View attachment 304853
Manchester City Football Club are amidst a takeover bid from what sources believe is a local business tycoon with close connections to the club.

The Manchester based team has been in a sharp decline financially over the past 6 months since their foreign owners left them for ruins, the sale of big name players such as Yaya Toure, Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero are all that have kept the club afloat.

Man City's representatives did not want to comment at this stage, however the club manager Matt Bullard did have this to say when questioned about his job security;
'I do not know what the future holds for this great football club, all I know is I am here now and committed as ever, if anything it will spur me on to show who ever the new owners may be that I am the right man for the job'

Back to the results on the field, this was a crucial month with some big matches, it was definitely going to be make or break for my Man City career, what with the results not being up to current board expectations and possibly having a new chairman the convince.

View attachment 304855

Man City Vs Man United
Capital One Cup - Final
View attachment 304849View attachment 304848
This was a game and cup I really wanted to win, despite the board saying that this wasn't a priority, I think it was really important to get our hands on some silverware, specially against our bitter rivals.

They started off quickly with a close range finish from Wilson, who went on the run riot against our defence. Bent did pull one back but we never looked like even coming close in this game, Man United dominated us from start to finish, to say I was disappointed would be an understatement.. Oh well, back to the training ground to take on United again in the league.

Man United Vs Man City

View attachment 304847
This win felt great, after losing in the league cup and our position in the top 4 not looking too strong, we really needed to stand up and show what we are mad of and we did exactly that. United didn't know what hit them, we sat back and soaked up pressure really well, clearing the ball over the top to our wing backs at ever opportunity and Sinclair and Traore ran United ragged. Great win and restores a 3 point lead ahead of United who sit below us in 5th place.

Man City Vs Schalke FC

View attachment 304846

This was a great defensive performance, holding firm and securing us qualification to the quarter finals of the CL. We kept hold of the ball well, dealt with there threat and once we got the break through on 17 Mins, the result never looked in doubt.
We have been drawn Liverpool in the Quarter finals so I am expecting a tough game, but I will be going all out. I am setting my sights on at least a Final appearance now!

Man City Vs Chelsea

View attachment 304844
As you can see from the stats, had Mangala not been sent off this would have definitely been a different game, although to be fair we scored both goals after he went off.
It got to around 60 minutes and we was failing to turn our domination into a result, on comes Klose, he instantly changed the game, scoring one and assisting the other, it was nice to see him officially arrive in the PL.
Disappointing result in the end against a team only 3 points above us at the time.

Newcastle Vs Man City

View attachment 304839
This performance was absolutely infuriating, Newcastle haven't been exactly setting the world alight and yet they had 60% possession in this match, we was lucky to even score, they had over 20 shots on target and it was painful viewing. Another game that we should have won, thrown away!

Earlier this month we had the usual youth intake and as you can see it was pretty disappointing, all bar one player, who if my scouts are right, could be a fantastic talent..

View attachment 304835View attachment 304836

Player of the Month:

Scott Sinclair

View attachment 304834
That's right, its that man again. Still maintaining a great goal and assist contribution as well as being the spark that gets the team playing. I will be honest, I fully expected to cash in on him next season but I cant bring myself to do it, he has become a firm favourite with the fans this season.

So we are coming now to the business end of the season, huge games are coming thick and fast in April, I am looking to have a completely unbeaten month, although as long as I get through to the Semi's, I am willing to allow one loss against Liverpool..

View attachment 304827

April

Before we take a look at the results for April I have an update with regards to the take over bid and its all good news..

View attachment 304701
So the take over is complete, by a consortium lead by a previous player at the club Ray Ronson. The previous loan has been cleared and a new £85 million loan has been taken. For the first time this season though we are out of the red and in profit this season. Now onto the other good news..

April Results

View attachment 304694
Unfortunately I haven't got the time to do a write up tonight but I wanted to post my results so I can get to the season finale.
Everything went pretty well in the league, I have decided to throw caution to the wind and just go all out attack, it served us pretty well, even against Arsenal where we bossed the game.
Unfortunately it did mean our Champions League run came to an end but I have no regrets there because we did amazing to get this far.

The league is set up pretty nicely for the last 4 games, a Champions League spot is in our hands and we have some 'easy' games which I believe we should be able to win. Mathematically we can still win the league.

Yet again the man was on fire this month, Its getting a bit boring really giving him the player of the month each month but its just unavoidable, he is bound to be the player of the season for us, possibly the league and possibly even the top scorer in the league, all off of the left wing.

I will update May and the end of season in much more detail, lets just hope it will be good news at the next update..

I was just looking to get some feedback from anyone that may be following.. between work commitments and my ever so needy 3 month old son, writing up a story can be challenging but it is something I am eager to carry on.

Are people happy with my input so far or would you like to see more detail? If so I would maybe space out my updates which would mean my season would maybe take a little longer?

I will carry on as I have been for the remainder of this season but look to change at the beginning of next, any feedback would be appreciated. Cheers

Keep this up mate! I'm loving it. Personally not a big fan of big bold writing on stories but that's personal opinion, the idea is great, and you're doing pretty good too considering! I'd say carry on!

Read from start to finish...
First of all, a very good idea for a save.
Secondly, did you try sending them on Loan for a year instead of letting them off for free?
And lastly are you using LFCMarshals database?

Cheers mate. No I am actually not a massive fan of the big writing either, its just something I thought I have started with now so I better stick with it, Defo something I will change I think.

Thanks, appreciate it.. It was a story I don't think I have come across yet.
I did, for Aguero clubs were only willing to contribute around 40% of his wages at most. Problem I had was what do once the year was up and they return to the club, I had to take a £2.4 Mil a week wage bill down to around £1.4million. In truth as crazy as it sounds I just wanted to get rid of them, get finances in order and then build my own squad.
No, I have just used the most up to date database and tweaked Man City.

Writing and layout can always be changed, but the story is brillian! So is the layout to be fair! I'm probably only a minority who isnt a fan of big writing so don't change it on my accord! Keep the updates coming bro!
