Shocking decision if we do sell him to United without getting Rooney in return. Hopefully arrogance and pettiness are not factoring into decisions being taken by the management.

It will be the worst transfer the club has ever made and that is saying something considering we are Chelsea FC who spend 50m on crocked strikers

However if Rooney was moving the other way, what would your reaction? As much my head tells me that United will be better off in that swap deal, imagining Rooney play in front of our trio gives me a hard-on. We will truly be a phenomenal team for the next 2-3 years with a fit and hungry Rooney up top

Then what's the ******* point of bribing United with Mata?

Exactly. Selling Mata 'in the hope' that United will return the favour in the summer is truly a idiotic decision. It will take a special type of idiot to agree to that deal. Really it's not even funny

Either we get Rooney now or Woodward or whoever is dealing from the United side should be told to just **** off

I think Rooney under Mourinho could be easily be a striker that wins us everything. However, he is vastly inflated wages and his fitness issues are a huge concern. If Ferguson couldn't get him off the booze and the **** I'm not sure anyone can, which isn't good when we're trading him for a model professional who is 3 years younger.

re: Rooney being available in the summer, having thought about it doesn't his contract end in 2015?

The worst part is that it could easily turn their season around and kill the doubt that's ******* them. I've waited 15 years to watch United implode, now it's finally happened and and I see Chelsea helping to patch them up, which is galling enough but to do it with my favourite player as well? I will be seriously ****** off and it will honestly kill off a lot of the respect I have for Jose.

Exactly, United can easily tell us to **** off if we sell them Mata now and then approach them for Rooney in the summer. It doesn't make even a modicum of sense to let them have Mata and Rooney for 6 months. All reliable sources saying United have lodged a formal bid but nothing on Chelsea actually agreeing to it ... Let's hope the media have jumped the gun as usual

And I totally share your concerns about Rooney. His wages are insanely huge. He isn't exactly the model professional or the most likeable guy around. Not good when you are paying someone 250k per week. However, he is the type of player Jose absolutely adores ... Hardworking as ****, leader on the pitch, wears his heart on his sleeve and a winner. Not to mention he will be the perfect striker for our system

Sighs just when things were going well ... Hopefully these rumours are a load of tosh

So will I. It doesn't make the slightest bit of sense at all ... Let me assure you that if this deal goes through, we will likely end up fighting United for a top 4 spot

I don't think it's that bad. We haven't been using him well all season anyway, and we've been doing well. If we sell him, we're surely going to sign a big striker as well, so I doubt United will represent much of a threat to us (this season).

It will still be incredibly stupid though. Knowing us, we'll likely then sell Hazard to PSG and use that money +Courtois to buy Costa from Atletico.

Oh, Chelsea, Chelsea. You ******* bastards. Hope they get a world class striker with that money at least. Funny thing is, I'm not even surprised, which is sad.

Its about depth mate. Mata leaving leaves us with 4 players for 3 positions. A couple of injuries and we are truly ****** because our AM band consists of our match winners ... You would think that the club wouldn't have sold De Bruyne if they were actively considering such a bid. At the same time United will get a huge boost and make a serious push for Top 4, a battle we may find ourselves embroiled in if injuries strike

This is truly a bad deal for us. Let's hope and pray that it's just a lot of noise ... At the very least, send Rooney our way

Meh, it wouldn't be that bad. Lamps can cover for AMC and Ramires can cover on the right. Or you can recalll one of your one bilion loanies.

Lol if we have to play Lamps at AMC ... We might as well kiss the title goodbye

It isn't so much about the title as it is about strengthening a rival though. Just when United, a team who have dominated the EPL for the past decade have finally entered their downward trajectory, Chelsea attempt to gallantly help them out by giving them a world-class player and significantly derail their own title challenge at the same time

Chelsea: Can we have Rooney?
United: NO

(Fast forward 5 months)

United: Can we have Mata?
Chelsea: Yeah sure mate, let me just bend over for you

Seriously?

Big clubs and small clubs....

THIS IS JOKE.

Saw rumour that Chelsea now looking to usurp the Salah deal from Liverpool.

Lol.

It will take some time before United can go back to what they once were or possibly never, this isn't an insult on your club but more of an appreciation of the great manager Fergie was

It's been just over six months though.
