"It's good to be back but it's not good to finish third. I'm happy with the evolution, but I'm not happy with third. Next season we want to do better than we did. We have to do better, I have to do better, the players have to do better. I have great belief in them and I think next season we can start day one and we can say without any kind of fears that we are there not to fight for the title, to win it. "

I remember when I came here, 3 years back or so, there was a healthy bit of real discussion. For every few pages of general griping, news and general content there was a well written analysis or a thoughtful argument. One of the first discussions I took part on here was about whether or not cultural relatively could feasibly be used to justify Suarez' words to Evra.

Now it just seems to be constant troll posts or people having the same arguments over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, never once changing their mind or acknowledging the points of others...

I really hope we are not that stupid as to offer Lukaku for Costa.

Seeing as we have already agreed a fee and his release clause is 32 mil I doubt that unless we are going to sell him there in a separate deal

I blame Alcaraz <)

What kind of thoughtful discussion do you expect when bulk of content around here is 'Mourinho is God, best season ever, everything went better then expected', even though this is actually his worst season in 11 years and Roman booted managers off the job for less. When people are afraid to acknowledge reality because of celebrity worship, the only thing left to do is to pour gasoline and set things on fire.

tbf it has happened in other threads not just this one for example the Manchester United thread has been a car crash too, I agree with subtle it never used to be this way there used to be a lot of healthy debate with some decent banter now there is just a lot of utter bollocks

There's a difference between trying to convince people that their opinion is wrong and deliberately provoking them over and over. When the hero worship is left alone, it can be ignored and the topics swiftly move on to more sensible discussions (or genuinely funny **** taking). When it's pulled up again and again, despite both sides having showed no interest in changing their minds, it's just irritating. It's all very well and good to "pour gasoline and set things on fire" but it would be nice if you didn't have to burn the entire house down to deal with some troublesome tenants.

Or maybe every troll should be banned permanently. I feel Mike is too generous and kind these days. He used to be a Roman Abramovich around here. Or maybe he doesn't give a **** anymore, which is fair.

Surprised that we aren't being linked to a CM. We need one more than we need a CB even if Luiz does leave ...
I believe you're being linked to Paulinho, I reckon he'd be a good fit if he signed.

Is this ?32 million release clause confirmed? It sounds too good to be true!

For once i would love to put the money spent on the young talent to good use.
CB: Kalas, Zouma
Mid: Baker, Chalobah, v Ginkel , Swift, McEachran (I think his debut was against Newcastle? The guy was flying on the pitch. I was really impressed.)
If we keep buying world class players for every position we are not covered, then the academy is useless and they better shut it down, because it's just a waste of time, money and talent.
