Correct me if I am wrong but aren't they pro-Barcelona? If so, I expect them to be reasonably clued in and they definitely won't print a story of a star player leaving Barcelona if they weren't 100% sure

More importantly, Atletico Madrid signed a replacement for Courtois which means arguably the best GK in Europe last season will finally be playing for his parent club
Aren't Marca a pro-Real Madrid-based paper?

Mangala seems like pointless transfer. Already have arguably the most depth in CB department, why bring more? Plus Porto will make you pay his weight in gold.
Yeah, it's a strange move for sure - maybe it's just case of the money from Luiz and Mata transfers burning a hole in their pocket?

Seems he wants everything handed to him on a plate. Very disappointing if true.

How haha? The lad hasn't even been given a fair chance and you've just bought Diego ******* Costa! It's pretty obvious that Lukaku will be playing second-fiddle at very best.. he deserves better.

Eto'o has gone, Torres and Ba are likely to follow him out. I highly doubt Costa will be playing 60+ games a season. Loss of form/injuries/suspensions (especially) will happen.

'He deserves better'. He doesn't deserve anything, he needs to learn to fight for his place like Azpilicueta did.

Considering he's proven himself in the Premier League with both Everton and WBA... Chelsea just flocking him out both times. I think it's good that he wants to not hang around and actually play. Torres and Ba won't be shifted easily and Costa is no.1 so he will play majority of games.

Second fiddle at a club like Chelsea who play nearly 60 games a season for a 21 year old isn't bad.

Lukaku is now established as a very good striker and too good to be sitting on the bench, especially for all the big games in which Costa will be playing

No matter how old he is his career will only stall at Chelsea

Well said and there shall be a lot of clubs wanting him as their main striker.

No he's not. He's really promising but he is still far from the finished article. This isn't like Cech and Courtois, where both are world class already, Lukaku is a talented striker but he isn't on the same level as Costa yet.

This is a ridiculously sweeping thing to say, honestly and I don't know how you can possibly justify it. Unless you think he's going to see 5/10 starts a season and maybe 20 appearances, which is absurd.

If he ever has aspirations to play for a top side then he needs to know there will be competition & that he'll have to fight for his place.

If he wants to play week in week out, I'm sure there will be plenty of mediocre sides lining up to get him, because no top team would offer him that at the moment.

Let the guy leave. Most of anything, I hate moaning *******. Club is bigger, sry mate. Adios.

MWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAHAHAHAHA!

Excuse me, the laugh is not at you. It's because Marca is a Madrid journal that's supposed to be pro-Real Madrid and claimed to be such by them and any Bar?a follower, until a few months ago at least sold official stuff with the Real Madrid logo (I think the deal got cancelled, but I'm not sure), yet indeed his editorial line and way of making first pages is such that they can be taken for pro Bar?a journal. The Real Madrid fans that are in my TL indeed have complained many times about Marca sabotaging Real Madrid and looking like a cul? journal, so to see a foreigner think they're pro Bar?a is very funny to me.

I never said he was the finished article but he is getting better each season playing first team football in the Premier League and out-scoring most strikers in the league the past two seasons

He will return to Chelsea, be 2nd or maybe even 3rd choice and play in hardly any of the big games unless there are injuries... At 21 he needs significant playing time to improve and he wont get that at Chelsea

Easy to see why he wants regular football

Obviously Lukaku isn't on the same level as Costa (and anyway, he is better than Torres/Ba at the moment, yet he still wasn't guaranteed game time), but he deserves a chance as he has proven himself in two seasons in the Premier League. If you don't blame the club/Jose for not giving him a proper chance, then how can you blame him for wanting first-team football? Young players like him should be commended for their ambition to improve by playing week-in, week-out, rather than slated for not wanting to pick up paychecks playing second fiddle.

But the thing is, he has fought for his place - just not at the club. Same as Costa, who is a complete newcomer coming in. Maybe he shouldn't be too surprised that Chelsea are signing a new striker, but I don't blame him for not wanting to play for a club which doesn't believe in him.

And I'm sure many non-'mediocre' sides will want him, he's far too good for midtable sides and arguably even Champions-League-challenging sides like Everton.

Chelsea is a team that plays 60 games a season. Do you expect Costa to play in all 60? Lukaku will play at least 30 games (starter and a sub combined) and he can easily score 20 goals.. I mean, if you expect to be an undisputed starter at a club like Chelsea, think again pal. Even Costa is not a guaranteed starter if you ask me. Jose has made himself clear many times, at many clubs -- he doesn't care about players' feelings. Nobody is untouchable. Even JT.

Lukaku can learn from the best and play alongside them, or he can be a starter at a club like Everton (no offence) and be happy about it. But I don't want to listen to him moan the whole summer. That's for sure.

Costa might suck in the English game, its been known to happen. Least Lukaku is a proven goal scorer, at this level, in this league.
