That's non sense and something Chelsea fans started using as a defense. It's 3 seasons with Chelsea and he has done excellent job for 2 PL sides, so he expects to be given fair shot as a first team player. Diego Costa will cost you big money and for sure he will be starter. Any player would love to get extended run of games with first team to prove their worth which IMO won't be the case for Lukaku if you sign Costa.

Not every player is happy to sit on the bench and improve their bank balance.

I don't think it is mate, right now in this day and age Costa is a better striker than Lukaku. I think its something to do with his personality that is making Jose and the club question his future at the club.

As far as I'm concerned, player who didn't get a shot for 3 years and doesn't complain, isn't worth having anyway. That would simply mean he's only interested in collecting paycheck and banging groupies.

Complain but say it in a totally different way, both Courtois and Lukaku have come out and said "we will NOT sit on the bench". Now Lukaku has a point as Chelsea have half a striker but Cech has been one of Chelsea's best ever players and the best keeper by far, a keeper who won the golden glove just last season! He can't be expecting these things. Best thing to say is "i'll fight for the spot and i believe i can win the spot". Because lets be honest both would.

just out of interest do you think it would be justifiable should jose decide to get rid of lukaku ad courtois

If we got stupid money for them both then why not? These two have never played for Chelsea so you can't miss what you never had.

that means someone in midfield will leave... hope its mikel....pray it isnt ramires

Seriously!!! Out of the two Mikel is better especially in a 4-2-3-1.

Just one question, why Mata was forced out and then he goes for Fabregas? I don't quite get it.

Because they are different players mate its simple as that. Play Mata anyway other than #10 and he's wank.

I think this is the problem Chelsea has. The send very talented youth on loans so they play nearly all matches a season at a club. If they do bad Chelsea sells them (obviously), but if the players are doing well the players have an option to choose.

The first choice is to go back to the club who loaned you out and didn't rate you last season good enough for the first team, which obviously is dissappointing for a young talented player, and fight now for a first team place (altough they buy another guy in your position as well in case of Lukaku).

The second choice is not to go back. Both players have been on loan for more than two seasons. If they don't have enough contact anymore with Chelsea and don't have a clear vision of what the coach wants to do next season, the player will not have that bond anymore with the club as it had when he signed his contract. The player just tasted how it is to play all matches at the best leagues and now he has to go back to club, who might not be interested in him, and if he wasn't contracted by Chelsea they would probably not buy him either.

So in short. When you're loaned out and the club doesn't contact you regularly about the plans for next season the player might not feel that connected with the club anymore, as he would when he was just brought in. That's why they may look a bit sceptic.

Maybe you have missed few interviews where he said he won't be going back to be a back up and not playing important games and he doesn't mind leaving Chelsea.

Yes but that's because he is clearly better than Cech. **** he was probably the best GK in Europe last season. He led his team to the league title and CL finals. So when he says that then it's understandable. Lukaku on the other hand is nowhere near Courtois' standard relatively. He was the 9th top scorer in the EPL last season (yawn). He is not world-class and atm, doesn't hold a candle to a guy like Costa so he can't come out and say that he deserves a starting spot or shoot his mouth off

No, that doesn't mean Lukaku shouldn't be unhappy with what's going on.

That makes little sense. Their is absolutely no other alternative so he shouldn't be unhappy but instead relish the prospect of competing and hopefully beating someone like Costa and earning his starting berth instead of expecting it to be handed to him on a silver platter. Courtois went out on loan and proved he was the best GK in Europe. Schurrle came in and proved he deserved a major role. Azpilicueta proved that he was probably the best RB in the league and earned his starting role. Mourinho gives everyone an equal opportunity and selects the best to win

Big pressure on Diego Costa... some say it was a good price.... but 30m+ for a guy with a few proven seasons at Aletico is not exactly small.

Wouldn't be surprised if he keeps on getting bans, cuntish player always trying to stamp and headbutt opponents.

No one will think Suarez as villain anymore.

Should of been sent off yesterday for sure.

I hope nothing is formal at this stage, we should wait till the WC ends. I still think we should just hold on to Lukaku and get Mandzukic instead.

Madzukic really isn't that good imo. I'm not crazy about Costa either. Would much rather see us testing PSG's resolve with Cavani.

That wouldn't be a cheap piece of business, given the fact that they sent a truckload of money to Napoli for him just one year ago, and we have already seen that they don't really give a **** about FFP, so i don't think they will sell for the sake of it.

Cavani would be better but would cost north of 45m.

After the Fabregas transfer, we still have over 100m to spend. The whole idea of selling Mata and Luiz was meant to be reinvesting in key areas with world class talent, so I would honestly be happy to see us pay 20m or so more to get Cavani. We only need a striker and a left back now, and with the latter costing somewhere between 15-30m, we still have serious money to splash out on a big name. Of course, there's always a chance that we could be looking to spend 60m of that on Pogba please please please please

Cant see it myself, If some reports are true they already rejected 60m from Utd, and just cant see Jose spending so much on 1 player money or not.

I think that if Pogba decides to leave Juve, it will be for PSG or Real. Also i don't think the board will allow Mourinho to get another CM after spending big on Fabregas. You are right, we do need a LB and a ST, but spending big on strikers hasn't really turned out in our advantage recently. Mandzukic i doubt would cost more than 20m.

The reports I read said that United were quoted 60m for him, not that United bid that much.

If we're going to spend another 40m or so, then there was no point in selling Luiz. Yes we got a good price for him, but if we're not going to reinvest it then it was pointless to let him go.

We already have Fabregas, Matic, Tiago, Ramires, Mikel and Van Ginkel for the CM spots. Agreed it definitely can be improved with players who are better fit such as Pogba ... But he will cost nearly 60m. Makes more sense to chase him next summer when he will only have one year left on his contract and his price will decrease significantly

For me the most important position is striker. A world-class striker can hide any problems in the squad by himself. If we are going to spend 60m on anyone, it has to be Cavani. I am not crazy about Costa but I think him and Lukaku returning would be good enough

And I am so excited with the signing of Cesc. World-class player who will improve us immeasurably. Also, Mourinho has confirmed that the best GK in the world last season. Courtois, will be back at the bridge next season. Cech probably going to be sold. Tough decision but an excellent one imo

Filipe looks a done deal. Admittedly it's from Di Marzio, so take it with a grain of salt, but the fee looks to be about ?20 million. Decent business for an excellent player. You all are beginning to look properly terrifying.

Time to stack on popcorn and enjoy the collective butthurt about team known for XIX century football leading the table. I can already picture all the desperate Facebook arguments about how class, style and history is more important then trophies.

can't wait.
