If Lukaku won't play 30 matches next season at Chelsea i think it's a good idea. Atletico is a great club for strikers the past years, altough the club is having a sale atm. Also you still have Torres and Ba as backup for Costa.

It's a fantastic move ONLY if we have another striker prepared and I don't think we do. Selling Ba and buying another one maybe?

It just makes us entirely dependent on Costa ... If he loses form or gets injured, we are ******. Lukaku would be brilliant as an impact sub as well as he showed in the Belgium-USA game. I can picture Costa running the defense ragged for 70 minutes before Mourinho sends on the brick shithouse Lukaku to finish the job. Would make central defenders cry

This did look poor! But one thing i will say about Chelsea fans is that when they push for something enough it actually works. We wanted R**a out we done that. We didn't want to sell the pitch to Roman we didn't. We wanted Jose to come back and he did.
He's a c**t simple! He done an average-good job which could have been made much much better if he wasn't R**a.
I wouldn't be too against it, playing CL football in a top side why not.
Ba deserves a decent shot tbh. I think he can do wonders with a decent midfield backing him up. Typical player that just needs service, and now between Fabregas, Hazard and Oscar, he's going to vomit goals.

Yeah, no. He's good as a squad player but the idea of having him as our no.1 if Costa gets injured is just painful.
Assuming we add Filipe Luis, I would say our Starting XI is among the best in Europe. However, we really lack quality depth in certain key areas. We are going to be pretty ****** if Matic or Costa sustain a long-term injury
Mikel can perhaps do a passable job replacing Matic albeit in an extremely limited way and Tiago/Ramires can always allow us to switch it up a little. But I really have no faith in Ba or Torres leading the line for an extended period of time if Costa gets injured. Mourinho needs to convince Lukaku to stay or if not, go buy Manzdukic and offload Ba
Also Omeruo is going back on loan to Middlesborough apparently. So either that means Kurt Zouma is staying at Chelsea or the Miranda rumours are true. I really hope we don't have any interest in Miranda. I rather see that money spent getting proper cover for Matic/Costa
Miranda is undoubtedly a quality player but he isn't a significant upgrade on any of our CB's unlike Filipe Luis who is a significant upgrade on our current crop of full-backs

Have a feeling this deal will happen one way or another. Atletico already signed a replacement for him so they will have to sell him and so far, we are the best option. Also reports that Filipe Luis is considering using his own money to push the deal through. Lad
It's so obvious. Just matter of when rather than if.
While I don't think he should ever be our number one striker I do agree he does deserve more games I mean look at the end of last season he finally got a decent run of games for the first time since joining the club and he scored goals. His form at the end of the season just makes me wonder how many more he would of scored if he started more games throughout the season ahead of Torres and Eto'o
Selling him way too short. He's a great finisher and has a knack for scoring from tough positions. And he's going to have much more space now. Its no longer going to be double-up on Hazard and shutdown entire Chelsea. Fabregas will add new dimension to your offense.
And this folks is the exact reason Lukaku has a problem with Chelsea..... how is he ever going to cement being no.1 if he isn't given a chance? Costa gets bought and automatically no.1 despite him having a few good seasons with Atletico.
Lukaku has had a few good seasons with Everton and West Brom - yet no one will even consider giving him a run of games as first-choice striker to see how he does.
I hope Ba sees he has no real future at Chelsea and leaves for regular first team football then you end up with Torres starting when Costa undoubtedly gets injured.
I just don't like the attitude of Chelsea fans with these types of players, they are hardly ever going to prove themselves as being capable of no.1 position if they never get given the chance. Then you moan when Lukaku has a moan about it.
Not this **** again sighs ... So what do you expect us to do? Should we cancel the deal for Costa and make Lukaku our No. 1? Yeah sure let's try him out right and if he flops, that's another season down the drain ... No biggie
You come in and train hard. You wait for your opportunity and when it comes, you grab it. You don't sit and moan to the media about how you want to be 'No.1' ... If you want to establish yourself at Chelsea, you compete. It's that simple. You do well and Mourinho isn't afraid to drop the big guns to let you play. Yes it's hard to do that but that's what football at the highest level is all about

My point is Lukaku needs to be judged on a run of games, that's when he usually comes good. You can't judge a player on 1 game here and there. He needs to be given a proper chance in the first team, a run of 3 - 5 games and see how he does, that's the only way you'll ever know if he is ready.
Same applies for Ba.... Everyone is like "Ohhhh no just pains me if he's no.1 when Costa is injured"..... well that's an annoying attitude because Ba has been used sporadically and no wonder he can't get any kind of form.
When Costa got a run of games that's when people noticed what he was capable of, not when he was being used behind the other 1st choice strikers at Atletico the odd game here and there. You have to give these players a good run of games.
