Why are there pages of arguments about Lampard taking a fitness loan to his new team's sister club?

Because apparently its a bad thing and we should be disappointed in Lampard. I'm struggling to work out why.

I've just read the last 3 and I am genuinely confused as well. We're meant to be mad that he's not going to QPR?!

Sadly Lamps not the player he once was

That way he wouldn't be strengthening our direct title rival as well

Yes I am going to troll you on this. How is he strengthening a rival if you think he is not the player he was.

At the end of the day his new employers will have a say in who he can join and Man City with thier links would probably have a say in the loan deal. Again if you think he is not the player he once was then why you so worried about it.

This is like the most natural thing that could've happened. He works for Man City right now. It's not a big deal + he won't play against us..

He isn't the player he once was ... He still is valuable depth that allows key players like Yaya Toure and Fernandinho to be rested while he plays against the weaker sides thereby strengthening our direct title rivals. I rather he went to QPR if he did want to go play for another EPL club because at least he doesn't help a direct title rival

So you're fine with strengthening QPR but not City? Weird.

EDIT: Also, I very much doubt he will be the title-winning factor for them.

You released him. There ended your loyalty to him. Unless you are secretly paying him his wages? No, didnt think so.
It's easy for him to come back as an ambassador, because you arent paying him 150k a week. Kinda irrelevant.

The source? Frank Lampard future: Chelsea want Lampard to take pay-cut as talks hit reported stumbling block with midfielder out of contract this summer - Premier League - Football - The Independent The Chelsea researcher at SI confirmed it was 50% (he's about as well linked as anyone could be in all seriousness, which is why chelsea wages tend to be pretty accurate in game)

You say he isnt good enough, then complain he'd strengthening a rival, you cant have hit both ways.

He's there for 6 months, he wont even play against Chelsea. What more do you want?

The main reason I am disappointed is because he said it himself that he can't playing for another EPL club and that's why he went to the MLS. Then he does the exact opposite inside a month. I know I shouldn't trust the words of footballers but I always felt that Frank is above that

Then again, if he does want to move to an EPL club then why move to one that are Chelsea's main title rivals. Yes he isn't the player he once was but he is still valuable depth and allows City to meet their homegrown quota. Plus he will probably play against the weaker sides and give key players like Yaya Toure a chance to rest. Also I highly doubt he can do anything if Pelligerini throws him on against Chelsea. He is legally obligated after all

I admit that maybe I am thinking irrationally but I can't imagine seeing one of Chelsea's greatest ever players turning out for a team that will be our main title challengers next season. It's like Roy Keane joining Arsenal in 2005 or smt ... Sighs

You're acting like the guy just stabbed your cat.

Chelsea didn't want to keep him on as a player so he left for the MLS, City are linked with the team he's joined and he wants to keep his fitness up. It makes perfect sense for everyone involved for it to have happened. He owns you nothing and is just looking after what's best for himself.

Probably not, but would like to see Pellegrini troll Jose back

I'd absolutely love Pellegrini to play him against us because he isn't good enough to play in the big games anymore.

I don't need to try anything, I'm just surprised by Lampard doing it, don't think anyone expected it, last season he said he would find it too hard to play for another Premier League team... then he joins your biggest title rivals for 6 months, errrrr..... ok.... I just don't get it personally, what is he trying to get out of it.

Plus, don't kid yourself it does tarnish his image in some Chelsea fans eyes, it obviously has just by looking at twitter alone you can see some laughable reactions.

Enjoy him wearing a Man City shirt won't you? ;)

Playing a Carling cup game if he is lucky for City will not tarnish what he did for Chelsea fullstop!

That makes it all ok then! Wave the flags and ring the bells. Lampard is still a hero who for some reason decided to go to Chelsea's biggest title rivals for 6 months because he so badly needs the money.

Should of gone QPR like Ferdinand, no one would of blinked an eye as he is just reforming with an old manager and it won't effect Chelsea whatsoever as I doubt they'll be in top half of table.

If you think we would have prefered to have seen him at QPR then it shows how clueless you really are about this situation!

I know it's great for everyone involved. Still doesn't change the fact that it will hurt seeing a Chelsea legend play for our main title rivals

Best young keeper in the world according to Jose. Their really is no reason to keep Cech beyond this summer other than sentimentality. Sell him while he still has some value!

I'd be amazed if Cech agreed to be a 2nd choice. Happy but shocked.

Also, we're terrible in the final 3rd.

It's preseason and everyone plays awful. Yet Torres somehow manages to stand out ... Hitting new highs everyday

Had to rush off to work straight after the game but actually got to watch it live which is a rarity. As i have said for all our pre-season games so far the result is very much irrelevant. I'll start by saying the ref was absolutely woeful today, a country who are all united right now because of a World Cup win and they even presented someone with a portrait of the national side lifting the trophy before the game. He was undoubtedly calling decisions in their favor time and time again. Although i did feel both penalties were 50/50 more so the Ake one it was more his general decision making which went against us and you could see Drogba very agitated because of it.

You may think i'm stupid but i'm actually kind of glad we got beaten today. For me we still have flaws and its better they show themselves in pre-season when there is not only nothing to lose its when we can right them flaws before the season starts. Lets not forget we won every pre-season game under AVB and look what happened there.......... Frank Sinclair and Jody Morris on CTV i think made a good point after the game that sometimes you can play 1 too many games away on tour, the lads have been away for a while now so maybe going back to Cobham and back home for this week will do them the world of good.

Oriol Romeu has joined Stuttgart on a season-long loan ... We are looking a tad light in the central midfield now

Think Nathan Ake will be staying in the first team in romeus place as he has been given the number 6
