Those stupid dropped points against the Manchester clubs really biting us in the *** now. I can understand drawing against City because they played brilliantly towards the end even with 10 men. Dropping points against United was just plain and utter stupidity (Ivanovic getting red carded, not defending a corner properly etc.)

Yeaaa, that would make sense if Chelsea were better team that day. Let's face it, both team negated each other. Draw was fair result.

Dont think he means Chelsea deserved the win exactly just we shouldn't of conceded that late equaliser and should have been able to of held on for the win even if utd deserved the point they got unlike away at city where we played very poor and were lucky to even have the lead.

At the moment, Matic is better than those DMs imo. We're talking about current form, not name...

Still 1000x more insightful than yours buddy ;)

You keep telling yourself that.

If you're after thoughtful responses, perhaps you should look at quality of your own posts first, and try to offer interesting discussion points, instead of your usual brand of Mourinho God, Terry Legend, Matic Jesus, and similar Chelsea-biased verbal masturbation.

Competitiveness of the league speaks nothing of quality of the player, by the way.

Martinez and Masch had both nearly singlehandedly annihilated best teams and players in the world. Masch literally destroyed Robben at the World Cup and kept star packed Germany sqquad at bay for 120 minutes in the final, and Martinez was basically bending over anything and everything when he was actually healthy and played as DM. So I'll take that as a sign of class over Matic being half decent vs. Stoke.

And? Mascherano has been consistently in form since like 2007, its hardly his fault that ever since he went to Barca he's always being played out of position. Same applies to Martinez.

As CFC said, I never said Chelsea deserved the win. Just merely that we should have held down because it was a really dumb way to drop points

Martinez is the best DM in the world. He is just amazing. Shame he is injured. His performance against Barca when Bayern beat Barca was amazing and never seen a player dominating Iniesta like he did.

Citing Bundesliga excuse is just nonsense as he did it in La Liga and most importantly in Champions league too.

Saying that Matic is amazing and probably best DM in the league.

I was basing it on current form. Since Martinez is injured, can't possibly count him in the discussion on who is the best DM in the world currently. Matic has been absolutely superb this season and he is a big reason why Chelsea are top of the league for now

So the club has sent out letters to some season ticket holders pretty much telling them they are not allowed to celebrate yet Jose is moaning about the home atmosphere? That's it chels Just continue to care about the glory hunting ***** who attend with their selfie sticks and iPads and spend 500-600 quid in the club shop before the game.

Its a really bad situation and it really just boils down to our small stadium size imo

Because Stamford Bridge is so small, the club has no choice but to maximize revenue from every seat possible in order to stay financially competitive with other top clubs in the FFP era. So we can't have things like cheaper U-21 tickets which will definitely improve the atmosphere but hurt the clubs wallets which will directly impact the talent we put out on the pitch. Hence, the excessive pandering to rich tourists and corporate cats

On the other hand, with a larger stadium, club has more leeway to lower ticket prices in certain sections to get the more passionate fans in whilst remaining financially competitive. Don't see any chance of a stardom in the next 5 years especially after we lost Battersea which would have been fantastic. The fans aren't helping either by preventing Roman from owning Stamford Bridge

Nonetheless, clubs can still do better than they are currently. Moving the away fans and getting the rods out of their **** in general would help

Matic brilliant so far! As Neville and carragher said earlier these are the sort of games we missed him in before the January window last season which cost us points.

Unfortunately missed the first 20 minutes of the game as i was coming home from work but was listening to it on the radio. Despite us only losing this fixture once since Stoke made their way to the Premier League this is always a tough fixture.

I think the early goal killed any possible momentum Stoke could have conjured up, yet another Fabregas assist and always lovely to JT score isn't it because you know he is the man the opposition fans least want to see hit the back of the net. The thing i love about us is that we always knew Stoke would try and rough us up but we can give as good as we get and that annoys them even more.

Felt the inclusion of Mikel next to Matic made us far more stronger in the middle and think we have stumbled across another plan in these tough matches, one day Mikel may be universally liked between us Chelsea fans but i won't hold my breath. Felt Costa although should have had 2 goals to his name worked very hard, made some bizarre poor runs but scared the ***** out of Stoke's back 4. Hazard for me is easily in the conversation for best players in this league, another brilliant performance and his pass and Costa's run for Fabregas's goal really was something else.

Tonight's game though just reiterated what i and now the huge majority have been saying for a while now, Nemanja Matic is Chelsea's most important player. I don't think there is a better player in that role in world football right now and more than that currently i feel he is the best midfielder in the Premier League right now.

Normally when the final whistle goes Jose is already in the dressing room or in his office as he has done on a number of occasions this season. But today when he stayed out there the congratulate every single one of his players i had a deja vu moment. Back in February 2005 Blackburn at Ewood Park we battled our way to a 1-0 win, and although that night we rode our luck at times and it was later in the season and the gap was greater there was similarities. Jose knew just how tough this fixture would be and winning matches like this sends out a real message to our main challengers and gives our players so much confidence going forward, this victory would have felt as good as any other he has had as Chelsea manager.

UTC!!!

Nice to return to this post in hindsight. I didn't bother replying once you started throwing wild accusations about 'Terry legend and what not' which you normally do same with how I apparently had meltdowns over Benitez ...

9 tackles and won possession back 11 times. Cahill and Terry only had to make one tackle between them. Probaby a MOTM performance. Half-decent lol

21 milion $ player not sucking vs. relegation candidate. Wow, that is just on a completely different level of class. Totally unheard off. Martinez cant even dream about playing so well, he only managed to dominate ******* Iniesta, which obviously doesn't even come close to stopping the superpower that is Charlie Adam.

Whaaaaatt .... Do you even know what you are talking about? Matic puts in superb performances week in and week out and has done it against big clubs like City, United and Arsenal as well. I am sorry Matic didn't dominate Iniesta, maybe he will if Chelsea ever get to ******* play Barcelona in the first place. You are the one who said he was going to be half-decent vs Stoke and I just proved you wrong because he was immense

I don't even understand what you are talking about anymore. Are you going to accuse me of having meltdowns over Benitez now?
