From what I remember he was not the best a RB.

Essien or Ramires? Essien was usually very good there for us but got torn a new one by Ronaldo in Moscow 2008 which is hardly surprising.

Essien was a very good makeshift right back for us for a while. If you remember the whole game in Moscow Ronaldo had him on toast for the first 45mins but in the 2nd half Essien started going the otherside of Ronaldo and he was very quiet for the rest of the game as he got Ronaldo defending (not his strength). Ramires has the lung power to be a rampaging full back no doubt.

why is the match not being televised?

Judging by whatever tidbits I get about our performance in the first half from twitter, count you're lucky stars you are not wasting your weekend watching that ****

Schurrle has probably been the biggest disappointment of the season so far. Just can't get going at all

I'll just leave this here.

Pretty cool.

He's so unreliable. I don't know what's up with that. On paper he has everything to be ridiculously good impact sub.

All the best to Torres, but we could probably fill a stadium with people being happy he left (mean, but true). Hope he scores every game, nothing personal about him, he just wasn't what we expected of him.

The one place he is still loved and he has to go back there and ruin whatever good memories they had of him

Former Premier League ref Mark Halsey:

Firstly, Eden Hazard should be taking all the plaudits for getting straight back up after the heavy challenges he has received this season.

But because he is getting back to his feet so quickly and going after the ball, instead of staying down and appealing, he is giving the referee the easy option of doing nothing and letting play continue - even though a foul has been committed.

If Hazard stayed on the ground, it would force the referee into action, and we would likely see more yellow cards as a result.

Referees have a duty to protect the Premier League’s best players but, at the moment, they are struggling to tell the difference between careless and reckless challenges.

Karl Henry’s tackle on Wayne Routledge on New Year’s Day is a prime example - that was a clear red card and failing to deal with the situation meant another was caused by Routledge’s retaliation.

Referees can certainly protect the players who are open to the more physical challenges but the crucial part is recognising the severity of the tackles. At the moment, it's all over the place in the Premier League

All players should be encouraged to act as Hazard does, not the other way around.

I may feel that way now but Hazard rides so many tackles as Jose said to why he rested him the other day "he's shin pads deserve a rest". I will feel differently if he ever gets a major injury from staying on his feet all the time.

Okay now lets put a few things into perspective and i suspect kill off a few of our hopes in the process. Lionel Messi is never and will never come to Chelsea. Yes there has been speculation for a couple of weeks etc but its all just coincidence. Yes we and he are sponsored by Adidas, yes our new kit sponsor has him as their main face (Turkish Airlines) and yes he and Cesc and their worse halves are best buds. But in no way shape or form are Chelsea in the position to sign Messi.

Okay lets get the boring talk out the way first and the Financial Fair Play bit shall we. You would be looking at 200million in transfer fee alone to prize him away, for argument sake divide that over a 5 year contract we would probably offer that's -40 million towards FFP regulations every year for 5 years guaranteed already. Now i'm not finished there, he would probably demand wages of around £400,000 per week and i'm not even going to include bonuses in that. So 400,000 x 52 weeks in a year would set us back nearly £21 million!!! So every season just with Messi that's costing the club 60million towards FFP regulations! We would have to look at selling 2-3 major players and i'm talking Hazard, Oscar and Courtois to be able to fund Messi overall.

Most of this talk tonight has come about because he allegedly started following Chelsea on Instagram. An account which i highly doubt he manages himself for starters and its quite clear what is happening here. Barcelona have been banned from signing anyone for 2 transfer windows which will take them up to January 2016 before they can buy. This gives the players who are currently there a grip on the club and some sort of bargaining power. Why would Barcelona sell anyone let alone their greatest ever player when they cannot reinvest it in anyone! These players know Barca need them right now more than they need the club so i suspect Messi and his camp are playing games with Barca to get him a new lovely bumper world record deal.

Call me grumpy, call me a pessimist or whatever you see fit but one thing is for sure and that is that this deal is and never will happen.

I don't think saying Messi will never sign for Chelsea is being a pessimist. Realistic and grounded, perhaps. Who actually believes that?! Mental.

Chelsea boss Mourinho has accepted departure of Petr Cech. Negotiations with AS Roma. Deal could be done in next days (via @_GoncaloLopes)

The stuff one can read on the Internet:

  1. Rumours have been flying round at Barca that he's unhappy with Enrique's management and wants a move.
  2. He has problems with taxes and the only way to get away from them would be to move country (Something like this)
  3. Him and Cesc are great friends (Messi was one of the ones begging for him to leave Arsenal).
  4. Messi's wife and Cesc's wife are best friends and Cesc's wife said she didn't know how she would live without Messi's.
  5. Messi is ambassador of Turkish airlines, Chelsea's new shirt sponsor.
  6. Messi is sponsored by Adidas, one of Chelsea's main sponsors.
  7. Messi followed our instagram ;)
  8. Cesc's wife liked a picture of Messi liking ChelseaFC
  9. He has started following our players social media accounts
  10. Barca having a meltdown, and Puyol being quoted as saying something like "I quit after seeing this side of Barca". This damages Messi's reputation.
  11. Messi's girlfriend just followed us on twitter.
  12. He just followed Jose's daughter
  13. My resources in spain tell me he is coming
  14. RAC1 are reporting that Chelsea and Barca having conversations.
  15. Messi's agent has just got in touch with Daniel Levy as we speak to see if Tottenham will pay for his Flight & medical to Chelsea.
  16. Why does he do all that today? After being left on the bench, and then missing a training session. Is that just a coincidence?

Hahahaha.

Humans and their dreams.

EDIT: Arsene Wenger in a few months: "I almost signed Messi before Chelsea did." ROFL

Wouldnt look too much into messi following Chelsea on Instagram as he also follows Manchester city. He will never be a Chelsea player so any fan with the slightest of hope should just forget about it.
