If you're prepared to sell half of your team to be able to afford Messi, then I would tell it makes sense. However, I doubt Messi will be anywhere.

Chelsea's strikers goal records this season are all very impressive when you look at the amount of games each has started. Costa has 14 having started 20 games, drogba 6 goals having started 7 games and remy has four in four starts.

With FPP in place I can't imagine Messi will ever move, unless if his contract is out. And he's a greedy tax cheating little **** so he'll keep extending it.

Leicester have beaten Chelsea to the £9.7m signing of Crioatia striker Andrej Kramarić from Rijeka. (Source: Times)

IF we were to sign Messi ( I wouldn't bet a penny on it) he would probably take the #10 role. You simply cannot take Costa out of the team. Oscar or Willian would be out.

This club is finally getting in line with the big boy in terms of financial play too, I would hate that go to waste because we signed Messi. He probably is the best player ever to grace this sport, but 200 millions? No thank you.

You would have to sell at least 4-5 top earners 1st.

I'm sorry but one does not worry where Diego Costa players if Messi joins, Messi plays in his primary position and the team is built around him.

Sure Diego Costa is great and all but he's no Messi.

Not saying it's happening and all but just my two cents.

This Messi thing is a complete farce, I cannot see how we would make it work with FFP when you take into account the rumoured transfer fee and add his wages on top off that... Dreaming. We need to sort out the depth of our squad because our bench isn't that great. Thats's the one thing City have over us, a better squad, whereas I believe we have the best starting 11 in the league right now.

Hazard & Messi on the wings, plus Diego up front   God if you are out there, please let this happen :)

We would probs have to sell Hazard as well as a few others to fund messi.

Next fixture Newcastle United (H) on 10/01/15 @15:00.

Our last result at the Bridge vs Newcastle 08/02/2014: Chelsea (Hazard x3) 3-0 Newcastle.

Our biggest ever win at the Bridge vs Newcastle 25/10/1980: Chelsea (Colin Lee x3, Mike Fillery, Clive Walker, Gary Chivers) 6-0 Newcastle.

Our biggest defeat at the Bridge vs Newcastle 12/09/1914: Chelsea 0-3 (Hall x2, Hibbert) Newcastle.

Highest scoring game with Newcastle as the Bridge 10/09/1958: Chelsea (Peter Brabrook, Jimmy Greaves x2, Tony Nicholas, Ron Tindall x2) 6-5 (Wright x2, White, Franks, Davies) Newcastle.

Chelsea's home league record this season: P-9, W-9, D-0, L-0, F-22, A-3.
Newcastle's away league record this season: P-9, W-2, D-3, L-5, F-9, A-17.

Our record at the Bridge vs Newcastle (all comps): Played-76, Won-20, Drawn-18, Lost-38, For-84, Against-110.

My stats of the game: Chelsea have conceded as many goals in their last Premier League game (5) as they had in their previous 10 matches.

Chelsea have scored with 18% of their shots and hit the target with 50%, both are league highs.

Newcastle have scored the highest proportion of second half goals in the Premier League (76%).

Newcastle have scored more goals from substitutions than any other top flight team (8).

Chelsea have only lost once at home in the Premier League to Newcastle United with a record which reads P-20, W-13, D-6, L-1, F-36, A-10.

Looks like Lampard was never a NY player, he was City player from the start.

Not sure why did he give interview saying he is happy to sign for NY team.

I would gladly make an exchange between him and KdB. I feel sorry for Schurrle, but he's in a bad form since the start of the season. Unacceptable.

Probably needs a decent run in the squad to pick up form, which he won't get unless someone gets injured.. And KdB? Very much doubt he'd come back just to be rotation/backup again.. Wasn't that why he left initially?

I wouldn't want KDB back. He felt he should of been given a place in the starting line up without even working hard or earning it. Also he was far from impressive when he was given a chance apart from his debut.

We might disagree on this, but I too felt that he was warming the bench too often. KdB deserved a chance to prove what he can do, and sadly he didn't really get it. The occasional game he played in wasn't good enough to get it going. Yes, Jose said he wasn't training properly, but we have no way of knowing that, so we will take to take his word on that one.

In 23 games he played this season, he scored 6 and assisted 12, and I would also dare say he is the best player in Wolfsburg's squad.

Would he come back? I agree with you here, and my money is on no.

Look at Lukaku for example. Jose was so far right about that call. But KdB had a burst of ego, and is proving what he is capable of.
