Which was also partly motivated by the desire to spite Tottenham at the last minute after their reluctance to sell us Modric in AVB's first season. It definitely was not something that was in the works during the summer
 
Yeah Chelsea didn't spend 30m to spite Spurs, even when they spend big these days they are carful with what they do. It was opportunistic because Willian is a skill player who carries the kind of graft Jose likes

I mean, first half of season, sure, you looked untouchable. Second half, your dominative playstyle really fell apart. Plenty of games were on the edge and you drove to the title mostly thanks to sheer force of will and winnning mentality of the players. Sort of (old)United style.

8 points clear of City in 2nd is clear cut as can be. A combination of tiring and us being spanked by Spurs made us change our style and even with that style we still managed to be unbeaten against all the other "top" sides. That's the thing with Chelsea we are the only side who can win different ways.

The thing is, Carl, City was pretty shitte throughout the season and didn't give us a proper fight. If City and United strengthen (which they are doing) they will compete for that title. United maybe need more time, but next season I doubt we will get it so easily as last season. Friends I speak with regularly asked me if we're going to do it again and I said I don't think so. My answer came purely from what I'm seeing transfer wise. Other teams are getting players. Starters. Not back-up goalies and 3rd choice strikers. We really, really have to get a world-class player on the right. We're lacking in the CM department. And we definitely need another CB, if not now, next season. I don't think Terry can do it much longer at the top level. I love him but he's 35 in December.

If we do, in fact, end up getting (big) players - why not earlier so they can fit in easier? Season starts in like 10 days. I'm not full of hope.


I definitely think Jose's looking for players. Whether we end up buying any or not, is, of course, another matter.
 
Turning in but for the record, Hazard is ridiculous.

Not the best defending, but he is absolutely ridiculous.

I'm also not 100% sure we will win the title but that comes from my thoughts that Jose will focus so much on the Champions League next season.
 
Time will tell, but I see City on the 4th this season. Arsenal is our main rival, and United improved way better than I thought possible.

Fans mocking Rafa as fat rafa is one thing but a manger making fun of it is just classless.
 
Just beat me to it as I was just coming in to post that.

It was clear Mrs Benitez was joking in what she said. For Mourinho to then get personal is a completely classless way to behave as sun noted and totally uncalled for.

But then should we expect any different from him?

This ongoing feud/ hatred of one another is nauseating in itself between Mourinho and Benitez. But this is taking it to another level.
 
It was a totally unnecessary jibe at Benitez who is a man who helped our club a lot in difficult circumstances. Jose should issue an apology immediately

Because it's so obvious. Just because fans abuse some players doesn't mean manager can. They have different responsibilities.

Anyways why fans are different from players and managers doesn't even merit discussion.
