Looks like a lack of support from the club in the transfer market is a huge factor. The main question is, why hasn't the club backed Mourinho in the market? We are definitely not short of funds.

I'd love eva at united...a place we're she would be appreciated. ..

Afterall, van gaal is a bit of a ladies man himself..;).

If this was meant to be a deflection it's gone really badly wrong.

He's just way too full of pride. Instead of admitting he was wrong, he would rather fire one of the best doctors in the game. That's so Roman-esque. Even if it was a deflection thing, last person you had to be mad at was the medical team. Hazard called them ffs. Why not fire Hazard too? Moronic.

Agreed with what you say expect he hasn't fired her. Perhaps demoted would be a better word

Well you can't blame Jose for that ... That was all AVB

Yeah. I meant it was the same thing. Kind of. Well, it is. Anyway, my point was, the situation was handled poorly and I think it's beyond repair now. Let's hope she stays at the club at least. Let's ******* hope.

Lets see what Jose says when he faces the media

Obviously he's not in charge of hiring and firing members of staff, but he certainly has a say in things.

Not to the extent were he can get someone fired. He is first and foremost the manager thats his job, he has no other say in the medical department apart from updates on injured players. He cant just tell a doctor/physio how to do her job.

Jose: Okay, I really didn't want to say this but I have to. I wanted to **** her brains out but she declined. She. DID. REJECT. ME. ME!!!!!! JOSE MOURINHO. Yeah, me can't have that.

If Chelsea are smart they will issue very public denials that she was demoted while quitely reinstating her and rapping Jose on the knuckles...

So your telling me he has been trying for 3 years?

It will be interesting to see what the club's next move is. Because it will set a precedent. And that's not good.

Without wanting to get all pretentious, Mourinho has been rather reminding me of that well known Nietzsche quote: "gaze into the abyss and the abyss will also gaze into you." There's only so long that you can play a part with true conviction before it can change you. The line between Mourinho the character and Jose the man is certainly a lot more blurred than it was before he went to Spain.

Which makes sense, because it was there that he lost control of things, and if there's one thing he can't stand it's losing control. The press broke the barrier for him between his personal and private life. Then he met Guardiola, a man so close to being better than him that Mourinho didn't want to beat him, he wanted to annihilate him, to humiliate him.

I doubt it will ever get that bad again, because I'm not sure anyone will push Mourinho's buttons the same way, but we'll still see it in flashes on the pitch, in decisions he makes about players. This isn't the Mourinho who we saw a decade ago, and we would do well to remember it.

I'd imagine he's directly involved in the decision making, actually. Its not much of a secret that players are often being thrown on the pitch with minor injuries, which is always a bit of gamble no matter how you put it. Although obviously that has to come from both player wanting to play and manager wanting ot play them.

But he definitely doesn't have final say on any medical matters. I can't imagine it working any other way.
