Cech 6m & Robben 12m >>>

Providing he does sign, if he makes half the impact Robben made when he burst onto the scene then I'd be delighted. But even if Mata does sign, I still think we are short in terms of creativity.

lol forgot about those two but in this market where prices have inflated so much, the reported deal for Mata is very good no doubt

Wouldnt call Mata a complete certainty yet, for the same reasons I mentioned to Chrisbird on the other thread, but its a lesson t Wenger on how to make a transfer happen quickly

Mata apparently at The Bridge. Been 'spotted' by a few people.

This could be made-up rumours, but I hope not. The cameras will probably go onto him when the game kicks-off if it's true.

Chelsea Team; Hilario, Bosingwa, Alex, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Mikel, Lampard, Anelka, Torres, Malouda.

Nah neither Have I as I mentioned in a couple of posts but odds look favourable for him joining and yes I was suprised how quickly we have went about this transfer, first bid 2-3 days ago just so we know what Valencia want, second bid in a day later and now according to sources, personal terms almost agreed an player and coach have even spoken... think Roman handled this personally, Emeleano certainly played a minor role in this transfer thank heavens

AVB initially, then straight Roman for the financial details. Exactly how SAF would have handled it, initial movements, then straight to Gill to make it happen. Mata wont rush though, so if Arsenal get their act together it could be interesting

yes yes Kalou not starting, made my day

An yeah if Mata is seen at the Bridge then this more or less confirms he is our man as I said and if reported rumours at how close his transfer is to being finalized is true, he most certainly is already in London

Hopefully Sky spots him watching the Game with fat Gourlay rubbing shoulders with him and enthusing him about our awesome stadium

yes there has been some interesting articles on how transfer work is done at Chelsea, apparently AVB deals directly with Roman and although AVB gives him a list of targets its up to Roman on how far he wants to go to finalize a transfer which is ok considering its his money but the way this deal has panned out makes it seem so likely Roman played a direct hand in this instead of leaving it to that good for nothing Gourlay or that idiot Emeleano... for all Romans faults, he knows how to handle negotiations and stuff

Mata wont rush into it but reports are saying he and AVB have alread spoken on the phone and he and Torres have also spoken and he is looking forward to joining us, if he is seen at the Bridge today then it more or less confirms that Arsenal cannot hijack the deal and tbh I doubt they will either, they were hinging on whether to increase their offer to 22m I doubt they will want to pay the reported 26-28m we have offered Valencia and Arsenal will defo pay that money installments while we are paying it upfront just like how Valencia want it.... hypothetically Wenger can still hijack the deal but he needs to move fast

Arsenal can pay the money upfront, and him potentially being at the bridge doesnt mean its confirmed, just ask liverpool about Jones. He hasnt even had a medical

Mata at The Bridge is confirmed by Chris Cohen.

The Lukaku song will be aired this Friday coming guys. Chelsea wanted to keep it 'til the paperwork was sorted.

Lukaku not on the bench apparently :(

Arsenal can pay the money upfront but knowing Wenger, we just dont know what to expect, all of a sudden when Mata's release clause expires he tells the media he is not going to buy Mata which makes it seem like he does not want to pay over 22m for him, mind you that was before the Cesc Transfer but still it would be suprising if he hijacks the deal

And then there is always a chance that Mata prefers one club over another, he ill certainly receive sufficient game time at both although arguably he will be playing with better players at Chelsea compared to Arsenal but still he might prefer Arsenal or he might prefer Chelsea so there are quite a few factors involved to contemplate a hijack of the deal, It will be interesing if Wenger does attempt to but he has to move very very fast

He had stated a preference for Arsenal, but that was before Chelsea were an option. Personally think Arsenal have blown it, but I think caution is necessary here until he has signed on the dotted line, you never know whats going on behind the scenes

well obviously if Madrid bid for him now, he will state a preference for Madrid but Arsenal have been well and truly gazumped here, they could have sealed the deal for 22m which would have been considered a bargain and Arsenal fans would be branding Wenger as a hero instead of cursing him... personally I think the deciding factor was that Roman knows how to deal with such situations and how to go about it; in short knows the importance of moving fast and that has served him well in the business world many people are very unfair on Roman... we all agree he knows little about football but very rarely I have seen an outsider praise Roman for his love and passion for our club and I think in that sense we are very fortunate at how much he loves this club; eventually I feel he will realize that his way of running things will not work in the football world and change for the better by getting better people to advise him, as I keep mentioning he did not get a net worth of 10 billion by being stupid

Caution is obviously necessary but Mata is odds on to sign for Chelsea by this week according to me due to a lack of firm interest from other clubs

Got an SMS from Mikel asking that Nigerians and the President should help him get his dad back

Roman should do the sensible thing and pay the ransom, atleast for once his money would go into saving a man's life rather than being used to pay off government officials or pay off manager compensations or before i forget, pay massive transfer fees or pay the wages of Kalou ;)

I was going to like that until I saw "or pay the wages of Kalou".

Hope to see Mata at The Bridge

Going to close my laptop now while I watch the game, hopefully we'll see Mata though!

lol was a joke but I was serious about the first three parts, he really could do something good here

Oh yeah before I forget, I found out that Roman was actually guy who wedded Drogba and his wife together, not sure what the position is called but he was part of the ceremony

Well, disappointing from Kalou, did the right things but didn't work out. Like when he cut in from the left, but slipped when he shot. And another time he cut in, passed it to Mikel, but Mikel didn't anticipate the pass. Been more positive with the 4-1-2-1-2/4-3-1-2, but Lampard isn't really the type of player you want at the tip.
