Our season seems to be falling apart and fast. Very very close to tears right now.
same, when they scored their second, I broke the sofa

Yup.
What a joke, I love my team but this is getting annoying we don't look sharp or anything. Even if we play wolves I'm expecting a loss.
Come on AVB.

I can't see Wolves beating Chelsea tbh. City maybe, but that's because they're carving through teams like a knife through butter right now
is Valencia game away?
0-0, Chelsea go through. Score draw, Valencia go through. It's home. But either way, I think Chelsea just need a draw to qualify if I'm not wrong.
Napoli might disagree. They've been quite fortunate that none of the big english teams are really firing, if United, Arsenal and Chelsea were all on form and breathing down their necks, the added pressure may have got to them. It just seems that they have so many match winners in their squad, it was Aguero & Dzeko to start with and now Balotelli has picked up the baton. Hopefully Chelsea will stop them!

I know a lot of Chelsea fans will not agree with me but I truly think Mikel is pretty poor. He is slow, not that great defensively, and sometimes it just seems like he isn't interested. With Essien also on the decline, what Chelsea really need is a good DM imo.
Those are probably his strong points i.e. composure, strength, and passing. But still, I think AVB should try out David Luiz in that role for a while.
We said it at the beginning of the season, 4-3-3 should be dead for chelsea. it should be 4-2-3-1, backed up with 4-4-2.
As an aside, i actually believe the the 4-4-2 is surpassing the 4-3-3 once again, simply because of the more fluid shape teams are using it in.
4-4-2 is dead, long live 4-4-2.
Alex's fault for goal.. He plays not at all since rumours about him moving... His head aint right and not giving 100% when playing. I dont understand that sub either, why would AVB bring him on?
Essien on the decline!!!! Being out with an injury does not mean you are on the decline.
STOP IT WITH THE LUIZ AT DM COMMENTS!!!! He gets forward way to much and tries to play his way out of trouble too often so no!!!
Formations dosen't matter Mike and i thought someone like you would have known this. It dosen't matter what system we play at the moment because the style of football we are playing dosen't work with the players he is using simple as that.
We were zonal marking which is something i am not a fan of. Friedrich got the run on Alex which generated the power on the header.
Now my take on everything as i haven't been on a while. AVB is not making things easy for himself, he is trying to play a brand of football which just dosen't work with most of these players. I also think his selections, subs and timing of subs have been questionable too, at the moment if i had to rate him i would say this job was too early for him in his carrer. Managing Chelsea is not like managing any other club, you need to hit the ground running and play the way Chelsea have been playing for years as it works. Saying all this if we get the penalty we deserved tonight we end up winning 2-0 but thats football sometimes. On a brighter note we will definatly beat Wolves on Saturday because their lucky charm is attending the game again (me) so get your money on a home win.

erm, within a given system formation does matter. in a 4-3-3, your creative player is too far from your striker, since both Drogba and Torres like to stay high up the picth. or he is further wide, limiting his impact. With the kind of football Chelsea want to play, you shouldnt be playing 4-3-3. Formation goes hand in hand with players and style. To get the best of the forwards you need the best from your few creative players, which means the best from Mata and that is 4-2-3-1.
Essien isn't the player he was 3-4 years back. It would be dumb to say he isn't on the decline.
