I think they should play:

Cech

Bosingwa - Terry - David Luiz - Cole

Mikel - Lampard

Malouda--------------------------Mata

Drogba - Torres

Tell Luiz to stay back, get Malouda to grow a pair, and make sure the Torres and Drogba partnership works on the training ground and they is a good team. I'm sure it's not that easy though XD

Not as simple as that. They're simply not a good partnership, and it makes no sense to even attempt to forge one with Drogba at 33, wasting Torres' supposedly prime years as well.

Cech
Luiz - Ivanovic - Terry - Cole
Romeu
Ramires - Lampard/McEachran
Sturridge - Torres - Mata

Probably how I'd line up.

Really, persist with 4-3-3?

I would drop Ivanovic and Alex completely, stick with Bosingwa and Luiz in the defence.

Cech
Bosingwa - Luiz - Terry - Cole
Mikel - Ramires
Sturridge - Meireles - Mata
Torres

Give Mata the freedom, let Meireles play more advanced as he did at Liverpool to affect the play in the final third. Stick with Mikel but give him some legs alongside him who can do the running.

Like I've been saying, it's not ideal but with the personnel AVB has that's about the best I can work. Mikel can't do high pressure in the system so the whole perfect system ideal falls down there but it's the best possible. I'm sure if Essien was fit it would be him and Ramires which, I think most people will agree, is a far better base of a 4-2-3-1 arguably one of the best bases potentially in world football.

I wouldn't let Drogba near the team, I think he's lost his touch and his sharpness in possession along with a few kilo's. Sturridge at RAM isn't ideal but as long as you reign in that instinct to move across the line and get in peoples way he should be fine.

Not sure where all of the Luiz criticism's are coming from, he wasn't on the field for either goal vs Leverkusen. Ivanovic hasn't been that great this season, no better than Bosingwa.

But like... Liverpool/Manchester United/Arsenal Chelsea are in a transition period at the moment, the problem is they didn't buy enough in the summer and they're stuck with the leftovers of the title winning wide which let's be honest does not suite the technical style enforced whatsoever for the most part.

David Luiz should be played in midfield, but not in the holding roll because he's far too reckless and cannot mark.

I think Luiz will be fine as long as we get defenders who understand and like playing in a high line. Putting him in the middle role of a 4-3-3 or the more aggressive bit of the 4-2-3-1's double pivot seems a bit harsh on Ramires who, despite playing poorly last night, is a good all round player and his energy will prove important for us if we play a high line possession game with pressing, especially as the creative players we need are often luxury types who are reluctant to track back.

I also believe Sturridge should be tried in the 'number 10' roll, behind the striker.

Really? o.O I think Jamie's got it right with saying Meireles is bested suited to it atm.

Cech
Luiz - Iva - Terry - Cole
Mikel
Lamps - Ramires
Mata
Sturridge - Torres/Drogba

Simple 4-1-2-1-2. I'd like to see Luiz out wide, or put him as holding mid, Mikel at CB and Iva at RB!

two jokes i saw on Gunner's Fantasy Twitter

Why did it take @Torres so long to join Twitter? He couldn't find the net for 4 months.

Fernando Torres walks into a bar and says, "I'll have a couple of shots, please." The barman says, "That's not like you."

Lolol

Those are pretty good but I've got a much better joke: Arsenal's trophy cabinet since 2005...

Lolol

Years of mediocrity, disappointment, betrayal and failure seem more than adequate.

No you smell!

Thinking about Chelsea before Roman has reminded me of the '97 cup final that made me love football and 7 years of Zola though, so thanks. ^^

Also the Super Cup win in 1998 against Real Madrid winning 1-0 thanks to a Gus Poyet goal. I would name all the other trophies we won before 2003 but there is no point, we have no history remember (although history is an ammount of time)

Done for the day. Both Cole and Luiz are back on track after complaints of ankle pain and stomach strain respectively. Look frwrd tmrw! #UTC

I think she could have worded that alot better lol.

Cech; Ivan, Luiz, JT, Cole; Ramires, Romeu, Meireles; Sturridge, Drogba, Mata.

How can Torres be on the bench again? Drogba has played a lot worse the past 2 games than Torres was playing before.
