Also it's difficult to understand what Torres actually meant because different people use the term "family club" in different ways.

I have heard rumours that a potential Lukaku deal will cost 20m, Neymar should be joining us at any rate while Van Der Wiel also should be high on our priority list, I dont think we should sell Drogba even if we buy Lukaku as Lukaku cant be possibly put into the first-team straight away as he is only 18 so he will have to be rotated with Drogba for another couple of seasons atleast to allow him to bed in

Interesting
Skybet - 2.25 Real, and 2.50 for Chelsea

Question to Chelsea fans, do we try and sign Neymar and/or Lukaku if we get Aguero? What rough shape do we plan to use?

If we agree that Torres plays best alone up front, and the team plays best 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1, then do we shove Aguero onto the wing? Or do we change shape to (i would prefer this) 4-2-3-1 and play Aguero behind? If we then have Neymar on the left, that is a very attacking team... which will leave the midfield lots to do.

Neymar is our top priority signing.
Lukaku comes after that.
And Kun is 50-50% I guess. If we get him - brilliant, if not - fine. I mean, he is not the main target of ours.
But I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally want him.

Neymar can play on the left side as a winger. So actually we will have Kun, Torres, Lukaku, Drogs as strikers. Pretty good I think :)

+ We will have to sell Kalou AND Anelka, if we dont, I guess we dont need Kun. IDK, Roman decides what to do. He is the manager now. As he has always been.

I seriously doubt you're going to sign 3 strikers this summer. BY your reckoning, next season you could have: Neymar, Torres, Drogba, Lukaku and Aguero. I don't think any of those players would be willing to warm the bench for you.

I agree, also dont forget Sturridge.

To be honest i dont know why we want Lukaku, if we really are building the team around Torres, which we should be considering his transfer fee and we have figured that he and Drogba cannot play together as well as the team struggles to play anything but 4-3-3, then why are we trying to sign a younger version of him?

Personally i hope we get Neymar, play 4-3-3 with Neymar-Torres-Sturridge. With the wingers able to have a freeish role, with width coming from our fullbacks. That leaves Drogba on the bench for plan B, Malouda in rotation and Kalou as a squad player. Pretty strong and most of all realistic. (oh and sell Anelka).

Save the cash for some midfield creativity. Also i reckon Josh needs a season on loan to a Premier league team, he needs the experience and we need him to beef up a little bit. If he plays in that holding role he is a vital part of the team if he gets it wrong we will be in trouble so he needs that experience.

My wishlist (Extremely unrealistic)

IN

Neymar - For obvious reasons, just an amazing young talent

Greg van der Wiel - Being half Dutch gives me a reason to love him more, but could become a top right back someday, if he isn't already, and it means Ivanovic can move into the centre and we have 4 top class centre backs, 5 with Bruma.

Aguero - I don't think we need him, but if we can get him it would be brilliant. Just don't want to pay too much for him to become Torres like.

Kaka - I don't know if any of you have heard the rumours about Kaka leaving Madrid. He apparently is frustrated there playing under Ronaldo for the majority of the time and we have been linked to him. He would be brilliant, but him or Aguero for me. He's a lot less likely to come anyway.

Lacina Traore/Khouma Babacar - I don't think we need Lukaku as he would cost quite a bit, these two would be a bit cheaper, but only if we sell Drogba

OUT

Anelka - Too old right now

Kalou - I do love this guy, but I think he could be very useful at a club like Newcastle or Sunderland

Malouda - Definitely over the hill in terms of football.

Bosingwa - Same as every one else has said really.

Essien - Possibly, if we get Kaka then definitely, although he would be missed :(

As for manager, AVB to come in and Guus as an advisor/DOF type role.

Lukaku and Neymar will definetly not come into the first team straight away, they are only 17 and 18 respectively so they will have to be bed in and have to be rotated in the first couple of season at least, I doubt we can sign 3 strikers but 2 of the 3 looks likely, Neymar and either Kun or Lukaku... Neymar acts as cover for Torres for the first couple of season at least allowing him to adapt himself to English football instead of being slotted straight into the first team and Kun or Lukaku rotating with Drogba, Drogba will probably be sold after 2 seasons and by then either Kun or Lukaku will have sufficient experience and knowledge to slot into the first team, sounds like a decent plan to me

Torres will also be gone after 6-7 seasons or be benched atleast and by then Neymar will be in his prime so he will be in the first-team, i suppose u can srgue that one of the strikers we buy may turn out to be a flop but thats football

I don't see why we need a right back to be honest. Ivanovic is a top 3 prem right back and even though it's not his natural position, we cant have 4 great CB's on the team at the same time.

And what if Ivanovic gets injured/suspended etc? We have left two average rbs in Bosingwa and Ferreira

Who will play back-up to Ivanovic if he gets injured? Bosingwa is a liabilty as he is old and slow, Van Der Wiel will be rotated with Ivanovic, and Ivanovic will still be our first choice for atleast a few more seasons while Van Der Wiel will be given less importat games to play and sub appearances and stuff like that so as to adapt him to English Football, lets not make the same mistake like last season where our team looked good but as soon as we had an injury crisis, we did not have sufficient cover to replace the injured players and maintain our title challenge

Ivanovic also has the added function that if we do have a Centre-Back crisis, 2 Centre-Backs get injured which is possible imo, then he can slot in there but in my opinion his role for next season will remain as first-choice RB and mentor to the new young right-back we are looking to buy and a go to man in the event of a injury crisis

btw David Luiz can also play any position along the back 4 so as long as we buy a new RB and sell of Bosingwa we should be reasonably covered in defence

Bosingwa is still good enough to act as a backup, he's been down a downward spiral, but this is as far as he will go down. And David Luiz and Ramires can both play right back aswell.

we need to prepare for the future too.......

I do want van der Wiel, but I've been hearing fro fansm Ajax that he's been playing nowhere near as well as last season and has had some bad attitude problems this season.

Frank Arnesen is trying to lure McEachran away from the bridge (apparently). Express.co.uk - Home of the Daily and Sunday Express | Sport | Football

I can't see Josh leaving the team he's been with for 11 years and grown to support for no reason but money - he doesn't seem the type IMO.

And right back should not be top priority for preparing.

its not like we are strapped for cash so y not?
