Hulk's a technical player when it comes to beating his man but he is not a passer. Torres isn't going to be getting consistent quality throughballs from him so again if Mata gets marked out Torres will struggle. If we had someone in the pivot with a good range of passing then I'd say fine get Hulk, but the players we have are good, hardworking all round players, not intricate passers.
I'm not saying that Hulk wouldn't make any chances for Torres but it would be so much better to get another creative AM and not be largely reliant on one playmaker.

ofc Id rather get a playmaker, lets say #10, but if we have a chance of getting Hulk, wouldnt mind at all.

and maybe another classy winger, like Gotze
3 classy players IN and Alex, Anelka, Kalou, Malouda OUT

Mario Gotze? I doubt he'd entertain the idea of joining Chelsea to be honest... He's the type of player that will end up at one of the major clubs of Europe like Barcelona or Madrid.
first of all, I said like Gotze
and secondly, I doubt he will join either of them clubs. Madrid will get Hazard, Barcelona doesnt need him.

I know you said you liked him but I don't honestly see he's future in England unless it's at City due to massive wages. Real Madrid or even Bayern Munchen are the likely destinations for him in my opinion although I'd love to see him at Old Trafford.

Gotze wouldnt demand mega wages in all likelyness. Large, but not mega. Not sure dortmund will sell him to Bayern either
I find this whole "they'll only go to Barca or Madrid" thing annoying. There's only so many creative players that those 2 need, despite the fact that they stockpile talent like all of Europes youth coaching is about to be taken over by Big Sam.
Yes these players say that Barca or Madrid is the dream but a lot of the time people get that confused with "I'll only go to Barca or Madrid". Sure you'd like to work at Google or Apple but if Microsoft offer and you're working for Dell you're hardly going to say no.

If the right top club comes along they will go. If chelsea came with the right offer to Dortmund, and showed Gotze they would play their way he would consider it

Hey guys, long time no post from me.
So how come this Hulk discussion has gotten so many posts? He's not joining, no way will the board pay the astronomical fee for a fairly unproven winger/striker.

That dosen't fill me with confidence at all, one point he says we have to look at the opportunity Chelsea have given him and honour that. But then he says maybe he will stay one more year at Chelsea and then go back!!!!

I read it like you Jacko, if Barca come back in for him he will go, the only issue being whether or not they bid for him this summer. If they bid for him this summer, his agent basically said he'd probably rather stay at Chelsea for another year to get more 1st team appearances. After that, it's implied he would go back.
At first I was quite ****** off at this and thinking that if I was AVB I'd have him in my office Monday morning to remind him Chelsea is the home of champions not a feeder club. If I look at it calmly though, there isn't really a problem. We needed a DM to cover for Essien this season (and potentially replace him, depending on whether or not he can regain form) We had 4 options:
- Buy a good young DM (expensive)
- Buy a good DM (either expensive or a short term fix)
- Buy Parker
- Buy Romeu
We got a good player to fill the gap in our squad and if he goes back to Barca we'll have made a profit on him as well as having him cover Mikel, if he stays we'll have got a really good DM for little money.

A good signing for 7m imo. I expected the fact that he's English and the fact that it's us would mean at least 10m. I'll be very interested to see how he partners with Luiz and whether or not he's been playing badly this year or whether he's been let down by his team.
