Vidic is also playing at a club where he wants to play and playing with team mates who he can also rely on.

again knight has actually being doing his job, its cahill who cant be relied upon in that partnership

I'm sure Cahill was still collecting big wage packet when he wanted to leave. So not wanting to stay shouldn't be an excuse. Just look at how Modric is doing this season.

Again, people deal with things different ways. Thats why we are all different.

Still they are professionals. Just because Cahill wanted to leave doesn't mean he will forget the art of defending or lose his talent overnight.

So not leaving a club means that you can't do your job properly for 5 months? Because he wanted to leave Bolton when he steps out onto the pitch he forgets how to defend properly? Thats a pathetic excuse, Modric didn't leave and he's been outstanding.

its pathetic ofc, noone denies that :) Although, as CJACKO says, everyone is different. I know that, if I were Gary, knowing myself, I'd purposely play worse just to get sold to a club I want to play for. Well, maybe everyone is different indeed. I know he is a professional in the first place, and he is not allowed/he shouldnt do that just for the sake of it.

however, If Gary continue to perform like that, I'd be the first to 'greet' him and his mother :) so we will see :)

Just incase anyone doesnt know Patrick Van Aanholt today has moved to Vitesse on loan until the end of the season. Hopefully they give him more first team football then Wigan did and I expect him to do pretty well in his native country.

What? That would just make clubs look at other players...

Cahill's been poor, but AVB's signed him for a reason. All we can do it wait and see.

If he did have that in mind then I'm pretty sure he knew that it would only hinder his chances to move as top clubs. Any player with only one year left on his contract would do his best so that he could attract as man big clubs as possible.

Anyways his is not going anywhere, will be interesting to see how he does as I'm planning to bring him in my fantasy team.

i gave an example, i cant read football players' minds, only Balotelli's cause he has no brains whatsoever. lol

AVB is no fool, and he knows EXACTLY what he gets :)

Gary Cahill:
Tackles per game % - 0.7

Total Fouls per game % - 0.9
Clearences per game % - 9.8
Blocked shots per game % - 1.3

Passes per game % - 30.9
Pass completion rate - 74.4

Zat Knight:
Tackles per game % - 1.8
Interceptions per game % - 2.2
Total fouls per game % - 0.4

Clearences per game % - 9.4
Blocked shots per game % - 0.8#
Passes per game % - 24.6
Pass completion rate - 70.8

Picked some stats which you should look at with defenders and its not as black and white as you think is it.

Yes, i pointed this out already. Only thing Cahill has got right as before is clearances and aerial battles.

His marking, tackling, positioning and interceptions have been poor.

You said it yourself mate, he was brilliant last season so he hasen't lost his talent.

So its not Knight's fault after all like you said initially ;)

But his passing (something we are trying to do more of as a club) and safety (no nonsence, safety first) has been decent. Like i say he hasen't been as bad as people are saying.

He was good mate, but imo not good enough for top teams. Given the choice I would have Alex over him any day of the week.

Anyways on Cahill, if AVB wants to play highline again he is not the player for it. I'm sure he will do better at Chelsea than at Bolton as he gets much more protection but I'm not convinced that he is top quality CB.

First of all I don't think Cahill is great, I'd say he's our 4th best CB, but he can definitely improve and as AVB has said; he has good technical ability. But I don't think he would be that bad for our high line; he has won the most offsides in the PL by quite a way, so I don't think he's perfect for a high line, but he's not too bad.

One thing which frustrates me with Nando is he tends to drift out wide quite alot and in some attacks when he should be in the box and could recieve the ball for a goal scoring chance he is outwide and either recieves the ball but has to pass or cross or he doesnt recieve the ball at all.

When it comes to teh basics of defending, he has that bad. Passing becomes somewhat irrelevant if he is shipping you goals, as we know with evans (who is an incredibly accurate passer)

Your side is still inherently selfish on the ball, which is why he sees it so little.

I would have rather he stayed in England, but still the loan should do him well and hopefully he can come back at the end of the season and be ready to play for the first team, or another loan, preferably in England because one thing he's lacking is PL experience.
